A Virginia State trooper pulled a car over on I-64 about 2 miles east of the Virginia / West Virginia State line. When the trooper asked the driver why he was speeding, the driver said he was a Magician and Juggler and was on his way to Beckley, WV to do a show at the Shrine Circus. He didn't want to be late. The trooper told the driver he was fascinated by juggling and said if the driver would do a little juggling for him then he wouldn't give him a ticket. He told the trooper he had sent his equipment ahead and didn't have anything to juggle. The trooper said he had some

My favorite is "I hope you dance" It seems very appropriate, but such a tearjerker. Best wishes to your son - and you.

Thanks for the info. I really don't like spending lots of money for television, but will let you know if we decide to make the switch.

I've been looking at the directtv site and am wondering what the cost actually is. I was, of course, looking at the least expensive package at 29.95, and reading further it seems there are additional costs involved with leasing equipment, etc. So, what is the actual breakdown of the costs of directTv?

I love home weddings. Yours was so lovely and everyone looks so happy. Best wishes to you both.

Call Joe at Direct Pest Management, he does a really good job and treats us like family. I can give you the number if you want it.

We ate there a couple of weeks ago. Hubby liked it, I thought it was just 'ok'

Well, it's finished and looks wonderful. I took Surpip's advice about a cast iron griddle underneath my dutch oven - spreads heat more evenly. I'm now baking my cornbread on the grill. Just covered the skillet with a lid and will soon have great cornbread. I used canned peaches and fresh blueberries and I can't wait to try it. Thanks everyone for all your input.

Wow, I hadn't thought about using a griddle under the pan. Thats a great suggestion. Thanks.

I love grilled veggies, but am thinking about a blueberry cobbler. I was wondering how using the grill would work.

I am wondering if anyone has used their gas grill to bake. It's too hot to heat up my kitchen and wonder how best to use my grill for baking. Any suggestions?

Go to the French Quarter. There are many great places to eat. Brennans for one. You might also find other wonderful treats.

We got lots of thunder and a few sprinkles off Hiram Sudie Road. Nothing else. We need rain.

Thanks ScapeGoat. I cooked my jam a little longer than it calls for and added another box of pectin. It seems to have 'firmed' up the hot jam a little bit, so here's hoping for the best.

Ok, I must have read it wrong. Thanks for the help.

Yes, but that's where the problem is. Like I said, I put the sugar in before the pectin. I guess I'll have wonderful syrup.

Ok. I'm making blackberry jam this morning and after reading the directions twentyzillion times, I added my sugar before the pectin. Now I'm not sure if this will set and, if it doesn't there are directions in the package for remaking the jam. Has anyone had any experience with this? Or is there another alternative for me. Or am I the only one with dyslexia this morning. Thanks for your input.

How much do you tip your pizza delivery person?
HappyToBe replied to Baileybleu's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't have pizza delivered anymore. I got tired of paying for the pizza and the delivery, especially if the pizza is cold when it finally gets here. If I did have pizza delivered, I would think $3 is a great tip. JMO -
I have been having the same issue. I rebooted my modem and seems to be okay now.

We adopted a pup from Paulding about 10 years ago. She is a chow/golden retriever mix and has the best personality. We believe she was abused before we got her because she is still a bit shy when you raise your hand - even to pet her. It took her some time to come out of her shell, but she loves to be petted and gives the sweetest kisses. She has learned very quickly and will stay with us when we take her outside. We never have to worry about her running away - she's a velcro dog and we love her.

Do you have a menu posted? or online?

I can't stand bananas, anchovies, beer, or cherry flavored stuff.

Went to Food Lion this morning and they had ground beef marked down really low. Just thought you might want to know.

We had homemade taco salad. It was good, but the fresh veggies sound wonderful.
