I got a vita-mix a few months ago and LOVE it. Hubby makes protein smoothies every day and I make ice cream in it quite often. I use it to make a green smoothie for me cause I'm trying to get more green in my diet. The spinach smoothie is very close to what I make and I enjoy it very much. You can do so much with this machine and I know you will enjoy it.

Have you checked with a county judge to perform the ceremony? A friend of mine did this, of course they went to the courthouse, but it was short and sweet - just the facts and nothing more.

I was just visited by a pair of pileated woodpeckers. I saw one in the summer back in the woods behind my house, but this was a real treat. I heard their call and looked outside. One was in one tree, the other was in my dogwood eating the berries. It just made my day.

I'm so sorry for your loss. An animal is very much a family member and it is difficult to lose them. Patty Cakes was a beautiful pup.

They are here too, off Hiram Sudie Road. PLEASE DON'T SMASH THEM. They emit an odor and will stain your hand or clothes. A good general bug spray should help. I did some research on them and they are trying to find a place to hibernate over winter. Lady bugs do a similar thing. Try to keep them out of your house.

Someone told me about the Atlanta Tradebank. From what I understand it's a bartering system wherein you 'sell' your service or product and the amount you charge for that service/product is banked and you can use it to barter for other services/products in the system. Just wondering if any of you have heard of this company or know anything about this type of system.

I saw my first hummingbird this morning. I quickly filled my feeders and placed them outside for the little things. I love hummers.

Kroger 278/92 is closing. I went in this afternoon for milk and bananas and came out with over $100 worth of items. Some markdowns are being done now and more later. Store is closing in February (this is my favorite store and I am sad). For you gardeners - canning equipment is marked down. I saw quart jars for $5-6 and pints for 4-5. I got olive oil and grapeseed oil, they have socks, cooking utensils, and office supplies marked down. There is more, but I can't remember everything. But if you need some of this stuff - GO, NOW before I go back and get it all.

I bought a bag of grapefruit from Kroger and I have to say it is some of the best grapefruit I've every had. Oranges are good this year too. I wonder why some years the citrus is better than others.

We've had only good experiences at Paulding Hospital. Everyone is very professional, even the maintenance people.

I spoke with a corporate person in that store a few months ago. He said that is one of the busiest stores in the area and they had no intention of closing it. I hope that is true - it's my favorite store. I don't really like the new stores, they are too big and who needs to buy dishes and small appliances at a grocery store.
