  1. What about for those of us who's valuation didn't change? Is that not a tax increase?
  2. Same in E Paulding.... It seems like forever since we have had an all day rainy yucky lounge around day. Never thought I would wish for one!
  3. Let's use an example... If you are paying a flat rate per therm to your electric company and they don't see enough of a profit to operate they double your per therm rate for the following month. BUT because you are into winter and you don't use as much consumption the following month BUT your rate doubled you will still be paying the same. So under your reasoning, it's ok, because you are still paying the same amount as you did last month. See how twisted that mentality is? Again, I don't doubt it's a "Must" but call it what it is, a hike to survive.
  4. LPPT Not everyones value went down despite the values still going down in my hood. I will be paying more than last year but it's not huge so I am not going through the hassle of fighting it, but make no mistake it is a tax increase. I see the need for the increase so we just have to endure it but these "oh, it's not what you think it is" is insane.....
  5. The post the law enforcement made on Facebook said she might be enroute to Pensacola with her boyfriend or friends.
  6. Maybe he didn't think bras and pork chops should be bagged together...
  7. Oh wow, I didn't recognize her as a blonde but she went with us to Monster Jam this past year (as a guest of my niece's). Super nice girl....
  8. Are you sure you are not a politician? The mills directly affect how much money you pay. Everyone is smart enough to realize that values declining will save them money UNLESS there is a millage hike, which RAISES the taxes you pay beyond what you would have before the increase. Again I know it's necessary but don't act like it isn't a tax hike.
  9. Did you pay attention to the part where I was addressing the statement of "no one came and no one spoke up" .... I am not uninformed and I am not disputing the need for the taxes. So thanks for your input and facts....
  10. I almost volunteered you as a resource in my original post but then wasn't sure if you would want me to... You were invaluable to us last year in PM's with finding a troop, we appreciated it very much!
  11. I am not sure if others do it different but the one we meet at stops at the end of school and is just now starting up. ETA- But yes, we had a lot come in throughout the year and unfortunately a lot go as well...
  12. First of all some of us work way out of the county and can't take the time go go to meetings. With that said, did they say anythign on how to justify keeping offices closed for furlough days yet offering raises? That seems to be a cart before the horse scenario.... Makes zero sense.... And I totally get the millage change, not much choice....
  13. We found out that my son's scout troop is starting back up meetings Monday night! Last year was our first year (he is a first grader) and it was an amazing experience! I was afraid he would be a typical kid and only do it a year or less and lose interest but he is excited about the upcoming year! If you have been thinking about it give it a shot, I don't think you will regret it. My son is at pack 306 out of West Ridge but there are several all over the county. Check it out!
  14. Ah, I didn't realized they said that an increase wouldn't occur.... If they did, then I agree with what you said.
  15. I believe everyone was already given the heads up that this would most likely occur, when I saw it today on the patch it was no surprise. I do have issue with parts of their decisions, mostly that I agree with the one commissioner who said that it doesn't make sense to keep offices closed and give raises while keeping four furlough days. Rather remove the furlough days first and then work on raises as future funds allow. A lot of people haven't been able to get raises over the past few years, county workers should not have an issue with it either if they can get their furlough days re i
  16. I am not at all familiar with the area out there in terms of road names but I can give you a general area. If you go out 61 until it ends and turn right going towards Cartersville you will come to an Ingles. Turn right at that light and maybe a half a mile down or so there is an retail complex and The Steakhouse is hidden back around the corner. HORRIBLE location to find unless you are completely sure where you are going.
  17. We love the Cartersville location, it is just as good and never had to wait. (Which is a little scary, I hope it does well there....)
  18. My 9 year old doesn't have one but uses mine frequently to chat with relatives/friends. She doesn't want one of her own, even though the answer would be no. It works for us....
  19. Go fer it.... You might have a good audience right now! Who knows, maybe you will overtake the big bad Chickferlet with your brilliant take over of the world!
  20. +1 Lowrider and Lady Raider tend to stalk me, so I go incognito....
  21. ferget it, I was looking at the transportation tax numbers... nuttin to see here! lol
  22. First of all, welcome! But I have to ask... What kind of position do you hold that you can look at a personnel file AND share what you saw on a public message board?
