  4. It will be too late soon to save, without lots of cost. your photo of grand mom and uncle Joe in front of the old home place. Call me to save these visual historical bits of information of your family. Don't just cry as you throw away these photos. Bring a few of them to me and I will see if I can save them for future generations. No charge on the first 5 photos. I may not save them in perfect shape but it beats trashing your family history.   10. moving to get your water damaged photos started on the road to recovery. Some of my fine art restoration friends were out today picking up paintings which suffered damage this week. If you wait too long to get started there is little to do. Keep them under a wet towel until they can be rinsed and laid out to dry.   15. Don't let the photos dry our before doing something with them or they will be stuck forever. Keep them damp. I have saved wet photos up to 2 weeks after the fire hose soaked them -- not an easy task but I was able to save the image in the center of the photo.
  16. Thanks for supporting my post. Water is the last of the process for photos. (They now use a waterless wash in some places.) You almost can't damage them further by rinsing them in cool water and setting them out to dry.
