Thanks to whoever gives out Mayberrys, it is humbling to get another. Monday I got a phone call while taking part of the afternoon off to play with my grandchildren. The call was a request to take some photos this family had and build a collage. Then the man on the other end of the line tells me the request is because his 3 year old granddaughter had died suddenly and he needs the collage within 24 hours so it can be taken to Waycross for the funeral. The two people on this thread right now are father and daughter. We almost lost her at birth but a great team at Kennestone knew what to do. Her mother and I love her and her family so much. It's now a blessing to have grandchildren and we pray for their safe keeping every day.

Sorry to tell you the short answer is NO. I hate to be so blunt but that is the answer. Think of it this way. It is a government venture, the school system, and they through the police power of the state, have the power to extract the most money from as many people as they can to fuel the ever growing thirst for spending other peoples money on projects THEY want to spend that money on. I too have worked to photograph 300 to 400 children in elementary and middle schools between school start time and lunch time. It is a numbers game for these big companies. "Your kid not smiling? Not our fault. How much money in is the next order envelope?." I may be slow and deliberate but I enjoy producing a vehicle to be placed on your mantel or bookshelf to rekindle memories for generations.

If your kid was run through the session quickly--don't feel alone. Do the numbers-- Small school, say 200 seniors X 10 minutes to change outfits casual and formal with the hair in the right place = 2000 minutes. 2000 minutes divided by 60 (minutes in an hour) = 33 hours divided by 8 (hours in a work day) = over 4 days per school and that's only 200 seniors. I'll be honest here ---- you have to go to the school photo guy to get your photo on the senior page in the yearbook but that is all you have to do with the school photographer. I live just off the square in Marietta and work on Main Street in Dallas. No wonder I have a hard time getting customers in----they leave Dallas and come to Marietta. That is one more reason to close my business in Dallas and stay in Marietta. Most days I make the trip at 9 to 11 AM and again 6 to 10 in the evening. Traffic not a problem for me. Can count of 30 minutes per trip at under 50 MPH which gives me 30 t0 37 MPG depending which vehicle I use. Don't ask us in Marietta to widen Whitlock Ave. It will only bring more traffic with 'MORE LANES - MORE EASE" mentality.
