  1. With the possibility of a power outage what do you guys buy to eat that will keep with no power ?
  2. What a wonderful opportunity ! I wish him the best of luck on his next adventure.
  3. I had a Toyota years ago that I loved like that and was in a wreck. Back then they wouldn't total the car even though it had a cracked frame that they said could be welded. It never drove right again and the brakes on the front left side had to be replaced quite often. I loved that little car.
  4. Mine is a 2004 Ford Explorer with 110,000 miles and I have not had to do anything (so far) but standard stuff like oil changes, tires, brakes etc. (We bought it new) I guess I have been blessed with this one.
  5. It's snowing off Hiram Sudie Rd. The dog was out leaping in the air trying to catch them a few minutes ago. It's fun to watch but he can't focus on the reason he is out there..... to potty ! Edited : It didn't last but about 30 minutes.
  6. Donnie's Automotive - PM me for contact info- Hiram Sudie Rd. @ Hwy 92.
  7. After last week I'm not sure winter cares. It's mean like that. I bet my husband heads home before the second snowflake hits the ground this time if it does snow.
  8. The Kitten Bowl is on Hallmark Channel. I loved the Basset Hound in the 4th quarter of Puppy Bowl. They were all cute.
  9. Thanks to Cobb County Police for pushing people, including my husband , up the incline last night on Dallas Hwy. and the guy in a black jeep that was pulling up behind stuck people and giving them a push to get them going again near Mars Hill Rd. on Dallas Hwy last night. I did call the Cobb County Precinct 5 on Dallas Hwy to say thank you.
  10. Mine too now, the warm house and exhaustion finally won.
  11. I kept checking his feet, between his toes, for packed snow when we brought him in but found that the dingbat had a nose full of snow too. With his long legs he would throw snow with every step then get all crazy thinking something was moving so he kept sticking his nose in the snow trying to find it. Sometimes it's a good thing they are cute because they aren't so smart.
  12. Don't know if this helps any but my husband came Bill Carruth to Hiram Sudie up to Davis Mill last night about 11:00 and didn't have too many issues, just slippery but taking it slow was ok. I know sun can't get to the road because of so many trees so I really don't know about it today with melting and the temp.
  13. Very cute pup. I love how dogs go nuts in the snow. They think it's the coolest thing they have ever seen.
  14. One sided snowball fight. lol More.....
  15. For years when people would say "get your bread and milk" I would always say "What about toilet paper, tell those people to get toilet paper !" I couldn't believe Charmin didn't have a winter commercial for adding toilet paper to that must have list. That's why I got tickled at your post. I was thinking LR thinks like I do, gotta have it.
  16. You know I love you, I get so tickled reading your snow posts. "I have plenty of toilet paper". I can tell you the people on the roads needed it last night / this morning because some of those sliding on ice moments scared the "poop" out of them.
  17. My husband is in the subdivision ! He had no problems on Bill Carruth or Hiram Sudie, just took it slow. Whew, thank you Lord. I sure do feel better. So 11 hours from Marietta.
  18. Too many inclines on Davis Mill. He has learned to stay on the main roads as much as possible because of police and salt trucks. Cobb county rocks, an officer just got them free from the mess with a salt truck and giving them a push to get them started again. Now they are stuck again on Dallas Hwy right before the red light at Mars Hill Rd. Even the smallest incline is icy and shuts them down.
  19. My husband is trying to get to Bill Carruth to park at the new hospital or water dept. so he can walk home but just can't seem to get anywhere. He has been on the road trying to get home since noon from Marietta. What a terrible mess this is for so many people still out there. I can say he does not want to go Whitlock or get on Dallas Hwy up that far. Groups of drivers are getting stuck everywhere from The Avenues area toward Hiram.
  20. FYI - Dallas Hwy coming toward Hiram - A bunch of people stuck right before Midway Road, icy incline. (Husband included)
  21. Not good. My husband left Marietta at 12:15 today and has just now passed The Avenues on 120 heading this direction.
  22. Any recent info. on Dallas Hwy - Bill Carruth or Hiram Sudie ? Dallas Hwy at John Ward Rd is dead stopped.
