  1. This has been discussed in several posts in this thread. As I have stated before, Mr. Ragsdale has evidently chosen not to campaign on paulding.com and chosen to take another direction. Joey Seabolt has obviously chosen to campaign here on paulding.com, thus the reason for the questions for Mr. Seabolt. I would suggest that you call Larry Ragsdale at the Commissioner's Office at (770) 443-7550 to attempt to receive answers to your questions.

WTH No web site, No meet and greet Why is Mr. Ragsdale not more open and available? Do you know what his platform is?

  2. Also DOT, just because I cannot vote in that particular district does absolutely not mean that I am not concerned about who we elect to each and every Commission post. They collectively make very important decisions that affect each and every resident of Paulding County so in my opinion, we should all be concerned.

The United States Senate collectively makes decisions that affect all of us, But I see no need to get involved in a Senate race in Alabama.

  3. Having the 'nads to stand firm to what you know is right is not a campaign promise! It is a moral and ethics issue. If you are in it to better your bank account or to try to be "IN" the elite clique, you will throw all your raising to the wind to fit in with the "movers and shakers" (which is a very absurd statement and I made myself laugh when I thought about selling one's soul to be a mover and shaker in Paulding County).

Personally, after having met Joey, I think he is young enough and tough enough to stick to his guns. I don't think we will be typing about what a crook he is four years from now.

    AMEN

  4. If I was as concerned as beach bum,and d dawg were, I would pick up the phone and call Joey Seabolt, and get the answers Both seem interested even though dawg has alredy voted and beach does not live i the district and can not vote WTH

Interesting then that Jerry, Laryy and the BOC have had MONTHS to go ahead and let this go to the judge and jury.

If they are in the right, then why not let it go to court, be found clear and then ask for damages and court costs from Surepip?

But no, they are doing everything within their power to keep it OUT of court, running up a heck of a legal bill for us taxpayers at the same time.

That smells more than just a little bit of a group of people who screwed up and know it, and are willing to spend OUR money to cover it up as long as possible.

No, Jerry, Larry and most of the BOC have proven themselves to be unworthy of their offices.

So it's up to us to fire them.

    SG

I will do my part to fire them

  5. OK Mr Seabolt, I saw you reading this thread when I entered and you choose not to reply to my questions, as well as others. It's OK to say that you don't know! But it is something you need to find out about as you may have to deal with it!

Whitey, the BOC did not advertise a tax increase because they did not pass one. They are only required to advertise if there is a MILLAGE RATE change. It did not change and therefore it's a non-issue. And with maybe 60% (maybe more) of the County seeing a tax DECREASE this year because of the DECREASE in property values, how is this a tax increase?

The County has a surplus in the general operating fund, and has for many years, because of good financial practices. It's amazing they did not have to pass an increase this year as sales tax collection is way off from years before. Now we can play around with "facts" and issues all day, but lets keep this thread on topic that the O/P started.

Joey, where are you? Come back! Come Back! The questions are only going to get harder! And more personal if you keep hiding from them! You want to be my representative? Time to start acting like one!

hummmmm, something doesn't smell right here. I have to say "This Dog don't hunt!"

You are soooo Right, The Commissioners did not raise taxes this year thanks to Mr. Todd Pownell who flushed out the dirty tricks planned by the commissioners to Raise them after the election.

Six million of the surplus came from the fire department budget,When they cut it completely out from the general fund.

I wonder why Ragsdale never spoke up during the previous video?

  6. I'm sorry you have had a bad experience, but I have attended dozens of the meetings over the last 3 or 4 years because I want to be an INFORMED citizen of this community. I am not a part of ANY special interest groups you speak of.

So Joey, I posted my question early this morning and it's now early evening. Any answers to my questions or are you still researching? Becareful how you answer as I already know the answers.

And for the record, I do not support either canidate. I'm just getting really tired of election year politics! And yes, I have already voted!!

What are the answers,If you already know?

  7. Joey, I'm sorry but I did not read the whole thread and do not know if this has been asked yet, but I have to ask you....... What exactly did the BOC vote on that raised our taxes? And how much has the airport cost the residents of this County?

And also, I've attended many of the BOC meetings and have found Larry Ragsdale always open and friendly when I asked him a question. I will admit he's quick to leave the meetings, but if no one wants to talk to him, why hang around?

    Just curious?

I have not attended many meetings, But I did have a reason to attend a couole of meetings about issues pertaining to some rezonings in my neighborhood, and in his post.

I found Larry Ragsdale to be very defensive in his answers that related to the zonings, And was appalled at the fact that he voted to use Imminent Domain to claim property of others.

Larry Ragsdale showed no compassion for the needs of the existing neighborhood, And aruptly ended the discussion, and left.

My vote goes to Joey Seabolt

You must be part of the special interest that has profited from all of his votes to rezone thousands of homes, That have overloaded the infrastructure in the county?

  8. Graduate,

Are you an official P.com Troll now or what ?

You come on here with totally unsubstantiated BS.

Show me some lots David Austin has sold from his "supposed" development. Show me a deed. All I see on his wife's family acreage on Ivy Gulledge are trees. No roads, no lots, no utilities, nothing except trees.

I have a new one for you to refute on the chairdude's behalf - tell me what you have to say about the information on chairmanshearin.com .

I was turned on to this site yesterday and find it very intereting reading.

    Comments ???

We have all received mail outs from the Various candidates, However this site, Seperates the Truth from the Bull.

http://www.chairmanshearin.com/ Mr Chairman Would you care to respond to these facts, The Graduate is this the truth?

    Quitetype got any comments.

  9. My guess is they are all togther right now stuffing Jerry-tubes with a new round of character assassination to be delivered tomorrow.

My guess it will read something like... David Austin really owned every one of the 29,053 lots Jerry approved. Surepip & Whitey have guaranteed the loan on David's $2,000,000 + ocean front house in Kansas. And the article will be wrapped in full sized drawing of the Biltmore House titled "David's new home he doesn't want you to know about, because he really is a mansion developer".

My guess is they are in the BOC Office, trying to figure out a way to get themselves out of E-MAIL GATE.

I have to believe that there was some Kind of Response from The State, and the lawyers involved, and Open Records Request are sure to occur from certain concerned citizens, To actually determine what is actualy transpiring.

E-Mail Dated June 13th 2008, and no response from anyone, or was this just a ploy to Delay the advertising of the tax increase until after the election?

  10. First I have to say I am quite upset, That a elected leader would be a part of such a deception of the people of Paulding County.

Secondly I certainly do not approve of a County Employee, being paid By the citizens of Paulding County, Atemoting to find a way, To make a tax increase more acceptable to the Citizens

If she was trying to find a way to reduce our tax Liability That to me would seem to be the way to best use her time and resources

Thirdly There are laws in the state of Georgia, That prohibit County Employees form being forced, required, or allowed to Participate in Political activity, Makes no difference who She is supporting.

For those of you who have not seen Pubbys Fast read page today please take a few minutes to review it.

Most of Your questions on David Austin Will Be Answered here, with His interview

    http://www.paulding.com/forum/index.php?act=home

When we begin to cast our votes this election ask your self Is this the type of ethics that we want as the Chairman Of the County Commission?

Ask Your self after hearing the interview from the Paulding County Builders association with Mr Perry. If you really think That all of the ads that Jerry Shearin has ran depicting David Austin as a developer were true? Certainly Mr Perry did not see him a a developer.

Citizens the time has come to place a honest and Ethical person into office.

Please take the time to view the Fast Read Page before you decide to vote, I hope you see it as I do David Austin for Comission Chairman

  11. I'm sorry, but that is NOT correct.

We had a vote in 2002 about floating =bonds= for the airport. The question on the ballot was NOT whether we wanted an airport but whether we should issue =bonds= for an airport.

On the other hand, the school bond was placed on day when it was the ONLY issue on the ballot. Why? Why not put it with the rest of the election questions, unless it was to try & slip one past the voters? There is NO other reason this was done except to to marginalize those who would vote against a bond. It was a purely political move & it still smells.

I agree, the Fire tax levy was passed, by a little over 4,000 voters, Since it was held during a Primary Election that year?

In that election cycle there were four different Ballot Issues To Raise our taxes , With only one being on the ballot in the General

  12. Many of you are right about the fact that the voters did not get a vote on the new courthouse, and yet we are getting one ( we really do need one but it would have been nice to have a voice about it}. I keep hearing that the last school bond was forced on voters ? The voters of the county voted yes for the bond. Many people may not like the last bond but it was needed and the majority of voters in the county voted YES for it. But then the voters of Paulding county voted NO 3 times for a airport. But, guess what we are getting an airport.

drphilofdogs, since you have Identified yourself on this site as a former elected School Board member,And you seem to be aware of the School Board votes to raise our taxes Can you answer the following questions.

(1 )Has the School Board ever proposed a Bond issue to the Voters during The General Election when most voters turn out? If so When?

    (2) Has the School Board ever Proposed a Special Local Option sales tax ( SPLOST ) During a General Election When most voters turn out? If so when ?

In your opinion, why were these taxes not on the General Election Ballot.

Since you seem to be aware of the actions of the present School Board, Will this School Board place the EARLY RENEWAL of the Current SPLOST tax , On tthe General Election Ballot This year?

Or are the Plans to have another Special election This year Supported and paid for by the Developement/Builder Industry And the Board Of Commissioners?

    Thanks for your input

  13. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Martinez head up the committe to force a school bond on the citizens of Paulding County for the enrichment of Tom Cousins and friends properties. Now if I could just find an acronym (check me on that one BWitchy).

Yes sir, that Dude sure did that, He was the Co Chair that raised $50,000 mostly from the developers, to cram that School Bond down our throats, Jerry Shearin donated to that Fund also

  14. I read this today and was impressed that Dallas was one of them.

This is impressive that Dallas Did this, but more impressive that 201 other cities did this also.

Now If........................................................., naw, the county would never want to be bothered with a Ethics law, Heck they have had one for several years and never have used it, I wonder why?

  15. I think all the BOE members that went along with the Paulding Builders Association, The Board of Commissioners, The Commision Chairman, The Developers and all of the out of county and out of state contributors to force a school bond on the citizens of this county after we had told you people, not just NO but HELL NO six months earlier, shot your chances of ever having the respect of the citizens squarely in the ass.

That was a vote for the enhancement of the properties of Tom Cousins and a few close friends. You folks allowed yourselves to be snookered. We need people capable of seeing through the BS handed down by the BOC.

feelip has hit the nail on the head with his matter of fact type of post, All the Board members had a chance To spend our tax dollars wisely, and choose not to do so,It is now time to receive your rewards for all the hard work you did to raise our taxes

I am voting no for all incumbents, and voting For Joe Watson where the incumbent did not run.
