I got to wondering about this 'revelation' and thinking about how odd it was, after all these years, that this information would come out in an election year when the DA is on her way out (term limited). Well, there's plenty of others casting doubt on her claims, here's just one of many things out there:

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,379981,00.html

So, I feel I still can't believe anything I read, hear, or are told about this case, for it's as messed up today as it was from the get go. The only thing for certain is that a child is dead, has been dead for a long time now, and no one is any closer to knowing why or knowing who killed her. Sad all the way around.

It is common for flying ants to swarm after a rain storm, at least that's what I read.

Go to www.google.com; input 'flying ant' - then look at the pictures in a few of the topics that come up; of input 'termite', or 'sweat bee' and see if anything matches - I didn't see what you saw so I can't do it for you as only YOU (all of you that have them) know what they look like. Then let the rest of us know so when WE get them we'll already know what they are. :p

  3. Whats your point, I didn't say anything about home growns, I was talking about a specific situation.

But home growns are equally disgusting, I don't discriminate with my scorn based on economic status, geography, or race if that is what you are getting at.

This is a disgusting violent way of life.

My point is: what facts do you have to backup that this 'gang' came from 'the city'? We have our own trashy low lifes here, and plenty of them, so I find it odd that you pointed out that they 'came from the city to SUBURBAN Paulding County", but ok, maye you have some facts to back that up that I'm not aware of. Also, you will get no agrument from me on the disgusting part of it from anywhere, here or there, but just know there is plenty of it HERE without it having to come from 'the city'.

  4. Yes it did, it was either a gang or a gang of wannabes that moved from the city to suburban paulding county and bought theie trashy low life ways with them.

Oh of course, because Paulding doesn't have any gangs of their own so they had to have come from the city.

  5. For baseball, don't forget the ROME braves, that's great.

Dirt track racing, lots of local tracks but the two I'd recommend are Dixie speedway in Woodstock or Rome Speedway in Rome, they rotate different Saturday nights, lots of famlies there and lately, lots more then usual due to 'staycations'.

Then there is the Aquarium downtown and the Coke Museum - park once and do them both in one day as they are right across the courtyard from one another.

Not sure how far you want to go, but the State Park in Stockbridge has a huge climbing tree:

Here's the link to events at all the State Parks, many are right near us and perfect for a day trip, you'll sure to find something at them or on this list (from this link you can go the home page and scroll through the various parks to see what each one has to offer):

  6. I only read the first post in this thread (to many pages to read), but you said you wanted something positive, okay, here goes: I am thankful for Paulding County because I have lot of trees on my lot and around me, and this county has lots of birds that sing long and loud. The music is wonderful, it really is, from early in the morning until late at night, it almost drowns out the blind rooster that someone living in the area has in their yard (it must be blind, it crows day and night). In fact, I've been here 21 years now and every year there are more and more birds, so I guess I have to say that I am especially thankful for all the building and constuction on Dallas HWy between East Paulding and Hwy 92 that took down all the trees over there that used to be their home, sending all these birds my way, as well as the giant turtle (and I do mean giant), snakes, squirels, and way to many bats to even talk about. Yes, they all came with the flocks of birds, about the same time that the trees started going down, so thank you Paulding County for sending nature my way, God's little creatures have to live somewhere and might as well be here around me and that dang blind rooster. ;)

  7. So now I'm bummed out. I spent hours this week pulling sales info from several sites that I googled and now I figure I'm stuck with my assessment - I'm still positive that in the housing downturn I'd never sell it for what it's assessed at BUT since houses aren't selling right now I have no way to prove it because the ones that DID sell back in 2007, and the very few that sold in early 2008, blow my case away. I can't afford to pay for an independent real estate assessment right now either, so, I'm just stuck. Sigh, government wins again.

    No Do Overs

I know that most animal shelter workers, shelter volunteers, and animal lovers think that anyone that turns in an animal to the shelter is the spawn of the devil himself. While that may be true in some cases, let me assure you that it is not always the case.

For some, they may be like me; I got laid off a short while back, and while I did find another job, it was for a lot less money yet my bills remained the same, and groceries, gas, utilities - life's demands - were on the increase. I also got sick. I took a hard look at where I was, and where I was going, and realized that I couldn't afford and couldn't physically care for, my two furbabies and they went off to the shelter. That was four months ago, and not a day has gone by when I don't think of them as I miss them terribly, and many a night has been spent on a tear soaked pillow. Since then, my health has surprisingly improved and I've also realized that I'll always be one step ahead of something kicking me in the behind (most of us are) so as long as I stay that step ahead, I'll be fine. Now I do not want a new animal, I am far from ready for that, I may never be ready for that. What I do know is that today, I chased down an animal at my local shelter that I thought might have been one of mine, I thought that maybe she was adopted out and now turned back in, but it wasn't her. The hard reality that I have to face is that mine was probably put down, because knowing the fate of owner turns in, she and my other one were probably put down. That is a cold reality.

My point for writing this is that if you are contemplating turning your animal in to a shelter and you have any doubts about your decision, any doubts whatsoever, let me beg, plead, and knock you in the head as I shout DON'T DO IT!

Please find a friend or family member that will take the animal from you while you get things straight, and if in the months that come things don't get straight, you can still turn the animal in then. But please, please trust me on this: turning them in is permanent, and it hurts, for a long time.

There are no do overs - so please - reconsider what you are about to do.

  9. Post some pictures..........Me and the bf have been looking for one....with a black mask!

Hey, the shelter has a beautiful - what they call - "young female fawn boxer", you have to go see her to know how beautiful she is because on the petfinder site she looks like a mix but she's ALL boxer and the girl working the front said they thought she was about 5 months old. She has the black mask you are looking for.

  10. IF you want to know the location of the job or who the CLIENT is you are likely going to have to use the contact info that was posted, as KINETIX is a staffing and recruiting company in downtown Atlanta; their "client' that they are advertising for can be ANYWHERE In metro Atltanta, or beyond, here is the link to KINETX here in Atlanta (and by the way, all you had to do was go google KINETIX, and if you can't do that, you likely don't qualify for a $12.50H job). ;) Good luck.

  11. Ok. I appreciate the comment, but it doesn't really help if you imply that I'll regret doing this but don't say why....

I'm sorry, I really shouldn't have said anything at all; it's your dream so you gotta do it or you'll have regrets later. Best to you!

  12. Seeing as I'm all to familiar with both CCSO and CCPD, and not from the perp side, I don't really know if I should say congratulations or send my condolences. Come back and talk to me in about 10 years, if you last that long, and I guarantee that by that time you'll know what I mean. But, this is something you want so you have to experience it for yourself, whatever will be, will be, God Speed to you!

  13. Hmm..he's a Mexican native so he's familar with the ways of the Mexican Police, so, stay there and fight extradition, or waive extraditon and come back to our system - yeah - he's pretty smart already going there to avoid the death penalty, so he's smart enough to know he doesn't want to tangle with them and their ways. I'm glad he was found and I hope the evidence is strong enough to prove they have their man and may justice be served, Marine style. ;)

  14. Quoted earlier by HB:

My husband just called said there's a huge fire there....they had the road blocked. What's even more strange is when he was coming home last night he saw a lot of police activity at the same house (he thinks)...

For some reason I can't listen to the scanner-The site must be down :/

    --------------------

what lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us

    __________________________

One of the first posts on this topic mentioned lots of police activity at the house last night, or maybe that house (they weren't sure if it was that house), so what's up with that - police activiity at that house or one right near it, and then this...I'm just saying...

  15. So I have a question, you say the parent lifted the children over your privacy fence and into your backyard? So is that a guess of how they got in there, or did you actually SEE this taking place?

If you saw it, then step up and say "HEY, WHAT ARE DOING? If I wanted your kids in here I wouldn't have a fence!" No one can be used unless they allow themselves to be used - get assertive!

If it is just a guess as to how they got in there, then your next move is to call the PCSO and let them handle the case as one of abandoned children.

  16. I saw this on here Friday night so I went yesterday and as everyone has said, it is great! The meat is oh so reasonable and OH SO GOOD - so fresh I haven't tasted anything like that around here, in fact, it just may be the best meat I've ever tasted. Wow, great place!!
