  1. I used to have some rose colored glasses back in the seventies. The lens were in the shape of a heart. I eventually took them off. LOL
  2. Oh, I love curtains on the right porch. My other house had a very long, big front porch and I put green and white striped curtains at each post and tied them back. I had white wicker furniture with the same green and white striped fabric and lots of potted tropical plants and candles. It was like a private getaway. I had the fabric left from the pillow covers for the chairs, so I just made mine. Good luck!
  3. It was probably the same one, since he seems to be lake jumping LOL He's still here this morning!
  4. OMG Eddie, where's that beating a dead horse gif?
  5. Just a little info on The Department of Education The United States Department of Education (ED or DoED), also referred to as the ED for (the) Education Department, is a Cabinet-level department of the United States government. Recreated by the Department of Education Organization Act (Public Law 96-88) and signed into law by President Jimmy Carter on October 17, 1979, it began operating on May 4, 1980.[2] The Department of Education Organization Act divided the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare into the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Servi
  6. Miss Sophie, I used the premade frozen refigerated crust as well. And they come out very good. I changed the frozen, I think I get the refrigerated ones. You can tell how often I make a pie LOL
  7. That's what I figured, we saw him searching under water for food. That's what the ducks do with their butts up in the air. We call it muff diving LOL
  8. That looks like him, we've been watching through the binoculars. He's kinda got a dirty neck LOL Lawd! I would love to see one fly. When my husband told me this morning we had a swan, I asked "can swans fly?" I mean really, they're so huge.
  9. Girl you need a pair of swans to go with that new pool, you know float in the pool while watching majestic swans on the lake
  10. YIPPEE! The neighbors across the way are feeding him bread and he's eating in the pouring rain. If he's still here tomorrow I'll go down and see if I can get him to come close. How? I would love to have a pair of swans. Where can you find them?
  11. This is the best I can get from my Iphone, I can't find my Nikon for a close shot. So what area are you, what lake? Just wondering how far he flew. I wish he would stay for a little while, I would like to see him up close. Maybe tomorrow. He's checking out all the shore lines.
  12. Oh my gosh! I live off Paul Aiken, where are you? What do you feed him? If it wasn't raining I would go down and see if I could get him to come closer. We throw out catfish pellets that the ducks love.
  13. I love quiche also, and they're so easy to make. I don't know why I don't make them more often.
  14. We have a swan on the lake! YES! a SWAN. Oh, I've always wanted a swan and I'm glad he's visiting. I wish he would stay but I know he won't. I wonder where he came from and where he's going? I read about them. They usually mate for life, fly at night and can fly 28,000 feet high and up to 35-50 MPH. He's here alone, maybe he's looking for a mate. I can't get a decent picture.
  15. Praise the Lord, my grandson passed it the first time this year. And now without the graduation test, he will have his credits, passed his writing test and will be walking to pick up his diploma next May!
  16. There wasn't a problem with HS graduates during the 60's and back. Maybe even the 70's and back. You went to college and didn't even have to spend a year getting caught up with remedial classes because you were under-educated like kids are now. It was when Jimmy Carter set up the Delartment of Education in 1979 that the dumbing down of America began. Changes began in the 80's and it's just gotten worse. Books? There's no books for us in this school system. I don't have to research anything to know that we are far behind the rest of the civilized world competition. We have a country of folk
  17. So y'all were fooling around last night after I went to bed, huh?
  18. I'm sorry you lost your friend. And that is far too young.
  19. I had an Electrolux vacuum I bought in the 80's that lasted so long I gave it away to get a new one. Best vacuum I ever had! Why is vacuum spelled that way?
