I considered including Seinfeld but figured that would offend a great many more people. Harvey is my feel-good show. Regarding the name: That's the intended reference. I have a sign hanging up that says the same, and we go out as a family wearing Princess Bride quote shirts. I didn't know that we were "those" people until a couple weeks ago but whatever. There are worse things to be, I suppose...like a debt collector or something.

It probably has to do with the parenting fad for this particular generation. Giving out participation medals, telling everyone that they're special and unique, and coddling them well into their teens is wreaking havoc on a young man's ability to deal with real life. Also, this style of parenting gives a young man a "God" complex because he's been led to believe that he's more special than anyone else, hence no one else really matters. It grants him a power in his mind that is indisputable & infallible. To the boy, it's probably like a complete slap in the face when reality steps in

It was very refreshing to see a politician be so passionate about a topic, especially one so near to many of us, and display a common sense approach to bettering the situation regardless of political partisanship. Were I to put his magnet on my car I would find myself in undesirable political discussions, but I may be able to get away with it on the side of the refrigerator that doesn't face the door. I'll test it out.- 2 replies

For streaming Netflix, you can get a Roku 3 (there are others, but that's what I use) and run a cat 5 ethernet cable from your router to your television. We actually have no cable for television at all because we use Netflix for random things and Aereo to stream Atlanta broadcast stations (we found that everything we care to watch is free). If you're also changing phone service to Comcast then you will also need to have a direct cat 5 from your router to your phone available. Most wireless routers will be fine for things like wi-fi for your cell phone/computers, but you definitely want t

Playboy decided that my company needed their magazine, so started a free subscription. They just started showing up in the P.O. box. Some of the articles really are great, and my partner enjoys them as much as I do.

I try to relate both with each other so that my strengths may improve/overcome my weaknesses. For example: empathy is a very real weakness for me, so I try to use logical thinking to come to a reasonable conclusion about how someone may feel, why they feel that way, and what I can do to help. I'm unsuccessful with a significant percentage of my attempts. But, it's a work in progress, and I hope that I continue to improve.

No, no. My partner maintains the household expense spreadsheets (and the cookie baking...she said she'll bake you some because you made her laugh). I simply reap the rewards of her diligence and dream of the day when skylifts are our primary method of transportation.

satellite gave a good explanation about why the bills should be the same, but I can't help myself. UCR stands for Usual Customary & Reasonable and is the negotiated amount that insurance companies agree to pay health care providers for their services. Doctors, hospitals, and ambulance providers who participate with a particular insurance company agree to accept what the carrier considers to be reasonable payment, and this is why you see "adjustments" all over your medical bills - it's the medical provider's contractual obligation to write-off the difference as a business loss. As such,

Why didn't Medicare enforce a UCR write-off on the 2nd trip is the question (and the answer to why the bills are different). The only time you should pay more for the same ambulance trip if Medicare covers it is when you are transported by a service that is affiliated with a Critical Access Hospital (rural hospital).

I just knew you were going to say, "but the sign says Whole Foods."

I tried that when I transferred my vehicle registration, but it seems that any place that deals with collecting taxes is exempt from the "baby line break" phenomenon.

Margherita pizza tonight. I performed my very first herb harvest yesterday morning and am pretty excited to use some of the basil. I can't get my bread crumbs quite like panko...I'm pretty sure that I'm a bit too enthusiastic with the demolition phase. What does the cornstarch in the first dusting do?

He's six-months-old. I strap on my tactical baby carrying vest and take him everywhere. He was three days out of the hospital when I took him to vote with me, and everyone let us skip ahead in line...I haven't left him home since.

I've got about 20 King of Pops pops in my freezer. That work? Actually, now that I remember that they're there it will be 18-19 King of Pops pops in my freezer.

If anyone has suggestions about which parks, pools, and other activity areas to visit/avoid that would be great too. I've found White Oak Park which is nice. I try to take my son on an adventure every day and Home Depot/Wal-Mart only cuts it for about three days.

It's daunting at any age. My first commercial airline trip was at the age of 32 (I grew up in single-engine aircraft), and I was still apprehensive about the proper procedures and navigation. Airport, airline, and even coffee shop staff are quite understanding and helpful for rookie passengers in my experience. I'm sure that he'll be fine with a little direction and common sense. I'll be quite surprised if you can overtly video the security checkpoint.

I noticed the placement of that particular speed limit change and guessed that it probably paid for the aforementioned crosswalks.

Well, I haven't owned a car for the last five years and bought one because I knew that we'd be moving somewhere that required our own transportation, so it's not unexpected. I do miss being able to walk/bus everywhere I need to go, but I've also decided that the bad aspects of city living far outweigh the good.
-
Does the same apply to all the really nice crosswalks that lead to ditches?

I actually already have that on my calendar for next week! Thank you for reinforcing my commitment to attend.

All of them are huge! I was slightly distraught to learn that you don't nickname your Krogers though. Buckhead has Disco Kroger (there used to be a disco next to it, and one would shop to the beat), and the one I lived near was Murder Kroger (yes, what you're thinking is exactly why it was called that). That taught me to ask the nickname of the nearest Kroger so that I could know instantly what an area is like. The people at this Kroger looked at me like I had just offered to tell them the future for a small contribution of $53 when I asked what their nickname was. I did, however, find it

Thanks for being so welcoming! I own a small company that I run mostly from home. My partner is the managing editor for a couple scientific journals and also has the benefit of telecommuting. Cohabitating with an editor has certainly improved my grammar... Dallas just outside of the downtown area. We're both from Atlanta. We've had our individual journies through life, covering many different areas, but Atlanta was home base. Again, thank you to everyone for taking time from your day to greet us.

Also, if you have enough subscribers on YouTube then there are sponsorships available to help generate revenue in exchange for the right to advertise on your posts. It requires dedication to consistently making new videos that will appeal to a wide market, however some people do make a great deal of money going this route. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/72851?hl=en -
I moved here with my domestic partner (we upgraded our relationship from boyfriend/girlfriend after having a baby and buying a house together) and our six month old son about a month ago. We lived downtown for four years before this and are quite excited to explore everything that this community has to offer. The people with whom I've interacted have already made an incredibly positive impression. From the lady at the business license office to the ice cream truck driver, everyone has been amazingly courteous, helpful, and welcoming. I will take the liberty of answering several of the
