If you have loved ones serving in the Armed Services
JJT replied to Cathyhelms's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think this is wonderful idea...it should be done more often. To me it doesn't matter if they are coming home from the sandbox or from basic...they should know that the community is behind them. We have a soldier coming home this weekend from basic and AIT. If anyone needs help putting something together for these soldiers coming home, please let me know...I have a few contacts for stuff like this. -
In a situation like what they have there...unfortunately they really have no choice.
-
really??? They make it in 1, 2 & 3 mgs...the only ones that work for me are the 3mg ones...but they work great for me. Give me about 6hrs every night.
-
I tried all kinds of stuff...then doc put me on Lunesta...works great.

see...like I said in a previous post...dog hurts baby and noone wants to kill all dogs...but if a snake does...everyone wants to kill all the snakes....go figure. Once again just like with the snake...I blame the owners.

First and formost please tell her THANK YOU for her service to this country. It is because of the young men and women like this that we have the freedom to sit here and play on Pcom and other internet 'play things' or even be able to leave the house and go to the store when we want to. Second...welcome home. It is all to often that we don't get to say that. If there is ANYTHING I can do to help you in this homecoming PLEASE don't hesitate to contact me.

Flaming Dr. Pepper 3/4 shot amaretto almond liqueur 1/4 oz 151 proof rum 1/2 glass beer 1. Fill a shot glass about 3/4 full with amaretto and top it off with enough 151 proof rum to be able to burn. 2. Place the shot glass in another glass and fill the outer glass with beer (right up to the level of the shot glass). 3. Ignite the amaretto/151 and let it burn for a while. Blow it out (or leave it burning if you're brave - not recommended) and slam it. Tastes just like Dr. Pepper.

This is the one that we go to also...Grand Asian Buffet II...in the shopping center next to the Home Depot on 41. If you go out Mars Hill Rd. to 41 and take a right, its maybe a 1/2 mile down on the right.

I have that problem too...

What kind is it? How old is it? Is it feeding? Mites? Tell me everything you can about it...including was it captive bred or caught wild...if you know.
-
If it poses an actual threat...by all means you have to take care of your family...I probably would have relocated it...but I have had training on how to do that. Not having that training...I don't blame you for killing it. The ones that get me are the ones that kill kingsnakes then complain cause they are finding the copperheads. Kingsnakes will eat copperhead...and rattlesnakes...and all other snakes for that matter. Walking up on a rattlesnake and not seeing it until you almost step on it will scare the crap out of you...I have had it happen.

My view of it is this...I love snakes and lizards, I have had MANY different types of snake and lizards...some poisonous, some not. I have also had several types of dogs and birds. But, every single one that I did have...I learned about them before I got them...housing requirements, food, handling, sizes...everything I could...BEFORE I GOT THEM. I even took classes on how to handle venomous snakes...before I had them. I would love to have an educational permit to show them more than I do...but the state has so many restrictions on getting the license that it makes it very difficult. I do

So what would be the natural enemy of a Rottweiler here in Paulding County...or a German Shepherd? I agree that law makes no sense. Why did a snake scare you? Was it because it bit you, or did it startle you cause you didn't see it until you were right up on it? You are correct with those 3 answers...the coral snake lives in areas closer to the ocean...however the cottonmouth is a different story...according to the dnr they are not here in Paulding County, but we live alot closer to the line where they "actually are" than the coral snakes. I have seen different information on

I read somewhere that Douglasville canceled theirs...but then got sponsors to donate so they are doing fireworks...not sure what else they are doing.

Northwest Georgia has received yet another tragic reminder of the human cost of the fighting in Afghanistan. A serviceman from Adairsville was reportedly killed this week in Afghanistan, R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home in Adairsville told the Rome News-Tribune on Friday. They declined to release his name, pending approval from military officials. He is the third local serviceman killed in Afghanistan in recent weeks. 1st. Sgt. John Blair, 38, Calhoun, died in Mado Zayi, Afghanistan on June 20 when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle. He was an Army Nationa

Don't feel bad...I didn't get one either... -
It shouldn't be anymore against the law to own a snake than it is a dog or cat or bird or any other animal. There are alot more people injured from dogs than there are snakes. Just because people are afraid of snakes doesn't mean everyone should suffer. I love snakes...they are gorgeous creatures. I respect your opinion...but I think you are wrong. I would be happy to help educate you and show you how docile these things are and explain to you why they are here. I just don't understand peoples irrational fears. Some people are afraid of flying, does that mean they should make it

That is the first one that I have seen that said anything about bite marks. However, I did say it was possible. If it had been because the snake was trying to eat the baby, then it would have still been in its mouth. When a constrictor is eating...it grabs the "food" with its teeth and holds it while it wraps tightly around the food...after the "food" is dead then the constrictor will start swallowing the food whole. I have been bitten a few times and have had blood pour out of the bite marks...but it wasn't trying to eat me. I do not know the entire story on this and I don't claim to...b
