  1. That's why they have been running bonds thru the IBA, no vote by the peons needed.. I found it very interesting bonds were issued by the IBA to pave roads.
  2. Glad to see my dry cleaners located in the Kroger shopping center at the intersection of 276/61 had a sign up about the Community meeting on the Airport Thursday night.
  3. I have been following this issue closely and doing some research. I think Austin is correct in assuming that either Delta or City of Atlanta is behind the lawsuit to stop the bonds. If you look at the attorney that is representing the two Paulding citizens (which were needed to file the lawsuit) he is a very specialized attorney that has represented many Fortune 500 companies-- not your run of the mill attorney, a specialized high dollar Corporate attorney, they don't come cheap, I have serious doubts that the 2 PC residents are footing the bill on this one. Anyway- that's my 2 cents worth.
  4. Interesting tidbit-- airport expansion will result in 1.3% property tax increase for residents-- came out yesterday.... http://ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/196-paulding-county-officials-try-to-block-discovery
  5. Chinese nuggets need to stay out of school lunchrooms!!!!
  6. and there won't be it will be a connector. lol!
  7. Yep- according to the AA it is god's airport, kinda like Lloyd Blakenstein of Goldman Sachs doing god's work. The god these folks are serving must be a different one from the God I serve- the god of Mammon comes to mine for these folks.
  8. I don't know yet. While I can understand the need for secrecy in getting a deal of this magnitude done, why are the BOC still so defensive about the deal? If this is such a great deal I would think the BOC would not have a problem fulfilling people's open record requests and would be having town hall meetings to tell us how great its gonna be. I'll just wait and see...
  9. I thought this was dead? Oh slight of tongue-- the toll road is dead, but the connector, ah, well that's something else. LOL! There you go folks, why would this still be sitting out there two years after it was declared dead, unless of course it really wasn't, hmmm..
  10. We bought a bunch of plastic snakes from the dollar store. If I can't find a wig-- I guess I'll go to Goodwill and buy an old helmet and glue them to it.... I may go to the craft store and see if they have some faux fur cheap,,
  11. I'm still looking for an old wig for kiddo's Medusa costume.. Anyone??????
  12. I don't know if Paulding County has this ordinance or not but other areas across the Country have passes ordinances with associated fines for not upkeeping lawn etc on foreclosed homes. Property owners are charged a fine, usually a monthly basis (or other regular interval) for the lack of upkeep. Seems I read an article that if a neighbor had to cut, they were still fined obviously w/ some coordination between law enforcement and neighbor. Fines had to be paid prior to the house selling-- so a lien must have been filed by the county, city etc. It would be a good $$$$ for the County, cau
  13. I have a 1st grader. List seemed reasonable enough---- crayons, pencils, markers, box, glue, scissors, pack of paper, kleenex, erasers, baby and clorox wipes. folder. I think I spent $35-40 and got name brand crayons (Crayola), glue (Elmers), pencil (Ticonderoga), etc. I sent in 5-6 extra each of the consumable items like pencils, glue and crayons, markers. I'll probably go back and buy some extras just in case a request comes home later in the year. I don't get the angst. Little me went to private pre-k at a private school. Guess what I spend $400 a month and still had to send much
  14. We're new to the area and have heard that its basically too late to make reservations at most "good places" and I certainly don't care to wait in line for an hour somewhere. I think we'll stay home and cook something interesting. Leaning towards lobster bisque, salad, garlic cheese biscuits and a home made desset of some sorts served on our good china..
