  1. Barrow county didn't want this. Two commissioners lost their seats because of the support of the airport. Same company. http://onlineathens.com/stories/121308/new_366946930.shtml Gwinnett County didn't want this, one commissioner is now in jail. Same company Make sure you read Brett Smith's comments (Propeller Investments, same company) http://www.peachpundit.com/2013/10/04/propeller-investments-tries-again/
  2. Why do some of you hold different people to different standards? Sorry Mr. Austin, the difference in "confidence and secrecy" is code names. I would rather define it as deception. We should be asking what companies are looking at Paulding County Airport? What other than aviation related industry might be interested in setting up in a federally secured business park? What happens if the FAA says NO? Once FAA approves and designates a commercial airport, they will control and require certain specifications even if no flights are coming in or going out of the airport. Do
  3. You want to know what's so ironic about this? Mr. Austin certainly wanted Mike Fritz to continue talking even after Mr. Pownall repeatedly told him he had indeed given back his pay. Susan Wilkins follow up made Mike look like an animal. Another sweet tidbit, one of our citizens asked Senator Heath to come to the meeting, he in fact did and was never acknowledged by Mr. Austin, not even a blip about him being in the room. However as soon as he could Mr. Swafford ran right over to Mr. Heath and was having quite a conversation. David Barnett was quite prepared, did Mike give him
  4. Yea, I'm sure Ms. Devy and Ms. Wright are airport and economic development experts. lol No minority should get their way? Tell that to the supporters of the Civil rights act.
  5. LOL, just like the Movie Studio.....it's making so much money. I hear they've only utilized it a couple of time and we're paying $20,000 a month to those California people even if we don't make a movie. That's next on the agenda.
  6. And certainly that needs to change. No entity or any one person should have the authority to override elected officials and the tax paying citizens. None, nada..........not even the guy that lives in Cobb County.
  7. David Carmichael was not at the meeting this evening either. He did not vote on the bond, it went through 3-1 guess who was the no vote.
  8. Mr. Carmichael is probably a fine man as are all the commissioners however; keeping a "deal" than impacts all of Paulding County and especially those in Post 2, in the dark isn't the way to garner trust and support. Mr. Carmichael was not at the meeting this morning.
  9. I noticed he didn't ask David Austin or Tommy Graham about any of their pre-election promises. I think Animal tried to set Todd up and it was asked and answered numerous times. Good to see you again Whitey!
  10. You could ask David Austin about some of his campaign promises and if they have been met.
  11. Yes they both did, Todd just didn't do it the way Animal thought he should. Funny David Barnett had his list of checks all typed out and ready to go. I'm thinking it looked like he and Animal had a discussion about that. Barnett knew exactly what was coming and when. I'm thinking there were a few more than 10 in the room. Todd got a couple of standing ovations.
  12. There is plenty of bad to go around, we don't have to make any up. (not for Gary though)
  13. You might actually have just proved me wrong.
  14. I love you lady, but have you EVER met a politician that was "squeaky clean"?
  15. ^^^ This is a valid point. The citizens really need to look at how this is set up, AA and IBA have a LOT of power.
  16. I'm pretty sure they have been invited. Just wondering if they'll show up.
  17. Wondering if the news media will be at the meeting on Tuesday?
  18. Praying for this victim, so very sad.
  19. From a person that lives in Gwinnett, they tried this same tactic with the secrecy. Someone thought better of it and let the cat out of the bag. The whole deal was booted to the curb. Now remember this is an area that has attracted many profitable businesses for many years. There's other stuff, just google Gwinnett and Briscoe field. Smith sang a different song in Gwinnett, hmmmmmm. http://www.peachpund...mercialization/
  20. Are 100% sure I didn't? Really?? I'll wave to you as you fly over. BTW, I don't think I've ever used the East Hiram Parkway. I don't get on that side of the county much.
  21. I htought they voted on the contract with Silver Comet, no one really knows but them now do they?? And Todd was not involved in that vote, it was the Airport Authority, not the Commission meeting. I can however see why you could be confused about that. They are voting on 7+ million in bonds on Tuesday, 10/23. It's on the agenda.
  22. Bueler? Anyone?? What are the bonds they are voting on Tuesday?? You know the 7 million + bonds??
  23. Me too!! Polk & Floyd County gets lots of my money these days. What part about not telling the WHOLE truth is not a lie? No mom, I did not break that today!! hehehe (I broke it yesterday) We're upset because for 30 years we've been told, "IT WILL BRING JOBS, GOOD PAYING JOBS", they lied then and they are lying now. Just like the airport wasn't going to cost us a DIME!! FAA money was building it and it would pay for itself!! Now we're hearing, "We have to do something, it's costing the taxpayers a lot of money". It's here, why not inconvenience the West Side of the count
  24. I agree with this entire post, especially the bolded part. With the exception of the clock tower that is purely aesthetic, the courthouse looks like something out of the 60s. It is boring and cold.
