It's WAY more than a handful of people, everyone wants jobs. However, they want jobs and to be able to trust their elected officials. No one I know wants the airport closed, we want what we were promised, a small airport with corporate jets and puddle jumpers, not commercial flights.

Yea, I have a vision for my company, too Paulding County shut me out. They campaigned on no tax hikes, got elected and turned right around and raised the millage rates. Yes you are entitled to your opinion. Spending taxpayer money is the citizens business. Throwing taxpayer money away is our business. Where is the feasibility study? Where's the impact study? What about that land of 1000 stop lights in Hiram on the "limited access" Hwy. Build it and they will come was a movie. Without something solid it's all pipe dreams. I've heard this BS for 20 years, nothing and I mea

The jobs should have been here before, the commitments should have been signed. We can sit here all day and say it will bring jobs, what jobs?? Is anyone even interested? I'm sorry this is putting the cart before the horse. That airport in St. Louis, IL is beautiful............it's empty. Gwinnett county didn't want this, they already have plenty of businesses. Does that not tell anyone this needs further study? No I don't believe our elected officials or the Airport Authority have the best interest of Paulding citizens in mind. There are many of us.
-
Let's hope they did their research. There are several open records requests in various stages. http://en.wikipedia....._Louis_Airport

If you're all so concerned about business coming to Paulding, why aren't you trying to keep the existing companies here?? You want to know what the county thinks of my business?? They banned it on 278 and business 6.
-
We've been in business 23 years in Paulding County. I find the citizens and most people I meet quite pleasant.
-
Please tell me what companies are going to move here because of the airport. I'm not trying to be snarky or smart but generally those things are in place before the money is spent. I would also love to see the impact study that was done. You can call it arrogance and disrespect but there are people that feel that's exactly what the Airport Authority and elected officials have given the voters of Paulding County. Yes, they remember how horribly they were treated about the toll road. Attitude reflects leadership. Respect begets respect, it's earned not given because you sit on so

What constitutes a quorum? Looked like the chairs were filled when I saw it on the news. I have watched several videos and saw 7 chairs occupied, I count 11 members of the Airport Authority including counsel.

Where is the impact study?? What businesses are falling all over themselves to move to Paulding when the airport is complete? http://environment.a...rport_noise.htm

Doesn't matter. They'll go with the calendar they want, it's all a horse and pony show.

She's really, really, really trying to find something good to say about this debacle. In the meantime, she shoots down the messenger or completely ignores what she doesn't want to hear.

 Those rose colored glasses must be so much fun to look through.

Exactly, they won't pay the premium and they won't pay the out of pocket expenses so nothing will change except those that do have jobs will be paying for themselves and everyone else. But they won't be paying the hospital, they will be paying the government and they will distribute it as they see fit. That's the scary part.

^^^thinking this poster has me on ingore.

Exactly, both of the links I posted talk about the high deductibles. It's all well and good til you have tests done, even minor procedures take a chunk out of people's budget. So they pay the monthly premiums and won't have anything but regular doctors visits paid for. It's a catch 22, they still won't be able to afford this. They will pay the penalties but are still on the hook for the medical expenses. Now does anyone else want to talk about the horrific 93 million dollar software that doesn't work??
-
No but they do need FAA approval, don't they.
-
The Tribune article I posted and the link in the original article have the whole story. Really, I don't think you want to find the answers, you're going to keep searching until you find an article that says what you want it to. It's the high deductibles that families won't be able to afford.
-
I edited my post #14 and put up some links from the Chicago Tribune and Forbes. Not sure if they are considered biased or not?
-
Good luck with those deductibles/out of pocket expenses. Shoot the messenger, it's the best way. Funny everyone seems to be having a lot of trouble finding this info from any of the MSM sites. They can spin it all they want but this is going to cost a LOT of money for the working class. Here's a Chicago Tribune Article.........wonder if it has any merit?? http://articles.chic...health-coverage Another one from Forbes: http://www.forbes.com/sites/brucejapsen/2013/09/28/when-obamacare-exchanges-launch-tuesday-premiums-will-be-low-deductibles-high/

The system was down for less than 12 hours, not days. It went down about 9:00am on Saturday and came back sometime around 9:00pm on Saturday. This article says it was down for 10 hours. Hardly a panic situation. http://www.woodtv.com/news/michigan/ebt-card-system-not-working-statewide The people were threatening to riot. Some of the tweets were actually pretty scary. WalMart did the right thing, they will lose on this. -

This is truly abuse and nothing short of theft. Those purchases were recorded, want to guess if they'll have to pay any of it back?? When they realized they couldn't steal anymore, they abandoned their carts. http://www.ksla.com/story/23679489/walmart-shelves-in-springhill-mansfield-cleared-in-ebt-glitch -
So they were hired by the GOP in 2007 to do the software for Obamacare?? Seriously, are they really going with this? Did Obamacare exist in 2007?? No, it was shoved down our throats in the middle of the night by a lame duck congress on Christmas eve. You really expect people to believe this was a no bid contract? Really?? :faints:

So they came here because of the airport? Rochi has what 10 employees and is going to have 35 eventually. Interroll is supposed to have 70.
