  1. Same applies to motorcycles! I was sitting in the left turn lane when I saw a blur from my right. It was a motorcyclist pulling out from the gas station on the right. He cut across the right turn lane, straight lane, and pulled in front of me sitting in the left turn lane--sideways. He couldn't fit his bike length between me and the car in front of me so he sat there sideways instead of waiting on traffic to clear so he could pull out safely. The same idiot was then speeding and taking curves on one knee and tailgating the car in front of him! Back to the original topic, people (dri
  2. How much is Allon Salon or Salon J? I'm currently looking for work and have been out of work for several months so I'd like a touch-up for my interviews--no frizz and roots showing!!
  3. If it's uncontested it shouldn't be too bad. When I got divorced, a few years back, my attorney sucked so I'm not going to recommend him (it took 3 months longer than it should have because he was "in trial" and my paperwork sat on his desk because he wasn't in the office). Typical child support is 17-23% of the non-custodial parent's income, but that may have changed to factor in the custodial parent's income also to protect dads paying out the wazoo when their exes earn double what they make. Anyway, whatever it works out to be, make sure she gets it automatically taken from him, whether
  4. If we're getting technical, the vagina is just a part of the female anatomy. It's where the magic happens, the "thingy" goes in and baby comes out. There's many more parts to the female genitalia but I'm not sure I could (or should LOL) list them here!
  5. Not a problem. If she loves it and sticks with it through high school, use the cheap one for marching band and get a good one for concerts and competitions. A lot of woodwinds do that to protect the felt and pads and cork from the outdoor elements. Many years ago I got my sax at Jennings in Marietta on Canton Hwy. My parents did a rent-to-own thing, probably paid double for it, but it was a good horn. I did upgrade to a Buescher for real playing a few years ago. If she doesn't like the cheap one you can put it back on Craig's list or eBay! Most music stores should repair any instrument
  6. Somebody that won't cost an arm and a leg either, and with a friendly staff. I hate spending too much money (over $50) on a haircut! I went to a national chain salon on Ridge Road. Both stylists had someone in their chairs but neither one looked up as my son and I walked in the door. No "welcome to blah blah blah" or "have a seat, we'll be right with you", nothing. They finished the two they'd already had (a dad and son), then looked directly at the family of four waiting also and took two of them. Still hadn't acknowledged me. I sat a few more minutes, another customer came in, they bo
  7. A friend of mine has her 10 year old doing competitive cheer and I was floored at their uniforms. For the 9/10 year-old age group they have the standard short skirt and top. However, the top stops right under their bust line (where it's going to be anyway) and the skirt sits at the top of their hipbones. The entire torso is exposed. High school cheerleaders aren't even allowed to wear something like that, there's no way in the world I would let my 10-year-old wear that in public! What were they thinking?!
  8. Personally, I'm embarrassed by Honey Boo Boo. It makes southerners, especially Georgia, look like ignorant hicks when we're not. We've had a hard time fighting the stereotype of the south and this show has unraveled years of progress. I haven't watched it but I see the commercials and have heard about it. I also haven't watched Toddler and Tiaras but have seen/heard about it. If pageants weren't so pageantry it would be better. If the girls got dressed up in cute little-girl type dresses and sang a song, fine. When you start with the spray tans and airbrushed abs and fake eyelashes and
  9. Hey, I'm not alone! It drives me up the wall when there's 10 kids at practice and 2 parents there. The coaches aren't babysitters and I keep an eye on the other kids but they're not my responsibility. Also, a lot of the kids missing parents are younger than my child. I've NEVER dropped him off and gone back an hour later to pick him up. Practice isn't a time to go grocery shopping or run home and finish dinner, it's to be with your kids. There was more than one occasion I took my son to practice and it was cancelled or changed to another day due to scheduling conflicts. If I had just dr
  10. I wish we could get the full story, including the doctor's point of view. Doctors, nurses, front office staff, techs, anyone in the medical field is supposed to treat each patient with dignity and respect but doctors can dismiss patients from their practice. It's rare and usually extreme circumstances (we had a patient that was verbally abusive and threatened the staff and tried to come back after we had locked the doors for the night--doc dismissed him from practice and if he showed up again cops were to be called). The doctor knows it would be discrimination and lawsuits would pile up in
  11. Vagina is considered more taboo than penis. Remember in the movie ET, Elliot called his brother "penis breath" and mom just laughed at it? You can' t say vagina and have it be socially acceptable. I think it's because we're taught as kids to say hoo-ha or thingy or anything other than the proper terms, then when we're at the age of learning sex ed and what the hoo-ha does with the thingy, it's embarrassing and we continue to avoid it into adulthood because those terms are ingrained into our minds as being taboo. And please, no jokes about "vagina breath". Thank you.
  12. Davis, you're not stupid and both of you are in my prayers. However, if you're waiting on him to change for you it's not going to happen. He needs to change for himself--this goes for any behavior, not just drinking. I know you want to support him and you love him but sometimes you need to step away and let him sort himself out. If he realizes how great you are and wants to keep you then he'll take the necessary steps. What about YOU? While you're taking care of him who is taking care of you? My ex-father-in-law was an alcoholic and his wife left him for 6 months, took everything that wa
  13. I was hoping there was more to the story than a doctor discriminating against someone! I have heard a doctor tell a patient they can do a basic exam but they really need a specific specialist and gave the patient the option to stay for the visit or go ahead and schedule with the specialist.
  14. Why wasn't this on the news? I've been watching channel 2 all day and no mention of this. Anywhere else and they'd break into the program to announce a school bus wreck, no children were on board, no injuries, details at 4. I'm praying everyone involved is okay and the kids on the bus are okay--physically and mentally. The bus driver was very shaken up and I can' t imagine what the other two drivers are thinking.
  15. What can I do to see about getting a stop sign on Austin Bridge Rd at Mein Mitchell Rd? When you're on Mein Mitchell at their stop sign you can't see cars coming from the left on Austin Bridge until it's too late (the road goes uphill right there and Mein Mitchell comes in at a curve). Someone is going to be seriously hurt or killed one day. How much would a stop sign cost? It's not like a red light, just put it in the ground and then cops could ticket the people that run it--a win-win for the county. I get so scared at that intersection!
