  1. It doesn't freeze over on the Canadian side?
  2. Do you think doing nothing will prevent Muslims from becoming suicide bombers in Europe and the US?
  3. I had posted some time ago why ISIS is such a violent organization and why they are they are operating the way they are. They are simply following the same strategy Muhammad and the caliphs following his death used to spread Islamic dominance over others. Between 632 and 1258, the caliphs had spread Islam by force throughout the Middle East, Southwest Asia, Turkey, Egypt, North Africa, Spain, etc. The spread of Islam was through military conquest and they were brutal. They would violently execute those who refused to convert or pay a tax. The violent and public executions were used to spr
  4. I'm not talking about the business plan. I'm talking about a comment one person made; that 2.5 jobs has cost $65 million dollars. That's BS. I have a business degree and I'm currently working on my MBA. You cannot take a total cost of investment and shift it as the cost of jobs. That would mean you paid nothing for anything else. The costs of those 2.5 jobs at the airport is strictly the cost of the wage compensation packages. Show me in those figures where it says the 2.5 jobs cost $65 million.
  5. You guys need to go to business school. You might learn something. You can't tag the entire cost of the airport to the jobs. You guys are just as guilty as what you accuse the other side of being. Pathetic on your part actually.
  6. The point is, it's a lie. Those two jobs have not cost $65 million or anywhere close. You're in business? You're tagging the entire cost of the airport to those two jobs? Unbelievable and you like to accuse the other side of misrepresentation of the facts.
  7. This topic was started about misrepresentation of facts regarding the airport. It was said 2.5 jobs at the airport has cost $65 million. That's misrepresentation of the facts. No, I take that back - it's an out and out lie.
  8. ISIS now is in Libya and has beheaded 21 Christians. Egypt launched airstrikes into Libya in retaliation. Article.
  9. I like the two I have, but I'm not interested in getting any others.
  10. I'm curious as to how you can claim 2.5 jobs have cost $65 million.
  11. I agree with you. I'd like to see his explanation how a commercial airport increases crime, homelessness, and gang activity in a community. Come on Whitey explain it to us. That's like saying the consumption of ice cream in Panama City Beach increases shark attacks during Summer.
  12. Don't feel bad. He said once while he was flying through the air on his Superman patrol, he thought my place was boring as well. I'm ready for him the next time he flies over as Superman. I put up a radar controlled gatling gun system in place. It's loaded with Kryptonite bullets.
  13. Brian Williams said he was extremely bored while flying his drone over your property.
  14. A measles vaccine was first introduced in 1963. An improved vaccine was introduced in 1968. MMR was introduced in 1971.
  15. Good article by Mike Rowe. He's absolutely correct. Kids are told if they get a college degree, they will make a lot more money. That may have been true 50 years ago when not nearly as many people were graduating with a college degree as they are today. The job market is flooded with people with college degrees and the unemployment line is filled with a lot of people with them as well. What schools fail to teach kids in high school today is, if they want a job with a very good income they have two choices: 1. go to college and major in something where there is a shortage of people in t
  16. I'd like to see two different tracks offered to high school students: a college track for those who plan to attend college and a vocational track for those who don't plan to attend college. Those who take the vocational track would still be required to take math, science, and English; but choose a career track like electronics, automotive repair, plumbing, etc. Whatever career track they choose would have required classes pertaining to it. Kids who graduate from the vocational track would still be eligible for the HOPE scholarship to use at a vo-tech college. I agree with this as well, b
  17. Those national firms hire people during the "tax season" to work from January through April. They're seasonal jobs and jobs where they teach someone how to use the software to do someone's personal income taxes. Because the available supply of labor far exceeds the demand, they can fill those positions easily and therefor the wages are low. Also consider how people can buy the software to do their own taxes at home for less the cost of having someone else do them for them. This also helps to lower the wages for these national tax preparation companies because the demand for their services
  18. There are a lot of hospitals who employ social workers. Here's why those jobs don't pay well; the supply of labor with that education level far exceeds the demand for social workers. I know several people who graduated with a MSW who could not find a decent paying social worker position. They assumed an MSW would get them a higher paying social worker position, but they failed to research if there was a demand for that. You are correct, there are currently a lot of jobs that require specific knowledge and skills that aren't paying all that well. Again, I point out supply and demand. T
  19. Again that goes to what I was saying about not planning properly. I too know a lot of people who are working in careers that had nothing to do with what they majored in. One thing to consider as well is, some employers require a Bachelor's degree regardless of the what the major was. In some aspects a Bachelor's degree is only as valuable as a high school diploma was 40 years ago. There are many reasons for that. Another reason so many people are working in fields other than their college major is because there was little to no demand for their major.
  20. First of all look at what type of organizations hire people with a degree in social work. Usually they are positions with the federal and state governments; or charity organizations. That limits the availability of jobs for those who have degrees in social work. In other words, the available supply of those who have degrees in social work far exceed the demand for people with those degrees. That brings wages for that career field down. When someone goes to further their education, they should consider if there is a big demand or not for what it is they wish to major in. This applies f
  21. Entry level jobs require no specific skills and because they don't require specific skills. These are jobs pretty much anybody can perform. The pay for these type of jobs are low because the available supply of labor for them far exceeds the demand for labor. Supply and demand not only determines prices for goods and services in the market place, but for wages as well. Increasing minimum wage will not bring people out of poverty as the Democrats claim. One only has to go back and look at each time the minimum wage has been increased to see what I'm saying is true. I'm a firm belie
