Wasn't your choice for an industrial site at Palisades because you had first option on the land and if the rezoning was approved, you would have made a nice sum of money?

Hmmmmm. You're telling me that the reduction in collected taxes due to home foreclosures and the devaluing of residential homes had nothing to do with furloughs and layoffs? Pretty much every county in this state, to include the state itself has laid people off and have instituted furlough days. Come on surepip, take the damn blinders off.
-
Not me. If you wait until the last day, something could come up that prevents you from making it, which will cost you more.

Let me see if I understand this. The question on the ballot was to raise property taxes to fund an airport and the majority said "no." Now you're saying the majority voted no because they didn't want higher taxes AND they didn't want an airport. Now couldn't it be they didn't want the airport because they didn't want to pay higher taxes? Isn't it also possible there may have been a good number of people who wanted the airport, but voted no because they didn't want their taxes raised? There's a big difference there. This airport we have now was constructed without the need to raise our ta

The people didn't want it? Who determined that? Was there an election on it that I missed or something? According to the 2010 Census, there are 142,342 people living in Paulding County; almost 70% who are of voting age. Are you telling me that you know for a fact the majority of the 99,000 voting age people of this county were against the airport? I think you're pulling that statement out of your butt. No doubt. Nothing like creating your own bad karma. Maybe it's biting you in the butt right now and you just don't realize it.

Everything with you keeps coming back to your law suit. You cannot seem to debate anything about county expenditures without bringing your lawsuit into it. It gives me the distinct impression that you would rather the county hoard money so they can then give it to you. You keep giving me the impression you don't care about the future of this county; that the only thing you care about is your damn lawsuit and screw everyone else. That airport is an asset to the economic growth of this county; plain and simple. You need to take your friggin blinders off surepip.

No kidding. It wouldn't have cost him anymore to go get them a few days early.

I'm going by what I've read in the newspaper. You're the ones that started this crap about the airport costing us money. Show me. You're also confusing county commissioner responsibilities with the school boards. The BoC is not responsible for providing school books in the classroom; the school board is.

I said the FAA paid for the construction of the AIRPORT. I didn't say they paid for the roadway or the landscaping. If you owned 250 acres of land, and the county wanted to buy it from you to develop an industrial park, would you sell it to them or would they be pissing away the money?
-
How much money is the airport costing us? Give us the figures please and also tell us where you got them. Is it running in a deficit; if so, how much?

You could always by the gutter screens at Home Depot and pay someone to install them for you. I'm sure it would be far less expensive than going with new gutters.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if you went in there Monday they waived your late fee. Why wait until the very last day to renew your tag anyway?
-
Surepip, the FAA paid for the construction OF THE AIRPORT. The airport is doing well and it will do a lot better as time goes by and the nation's economy improves. It wouldn't matter what the BoC does, you will just find fault with it because you seem to have a grudge against them. You wanted to see industrial business come to this county. The airport will certainly help draw that type of business, but the economy has to improve first for investors to make it worth their while.
-
Get the screens you can place over your gutters. I find they work much better.

It was to cost us nothing to construct the airport, which it didn't. They have been selling Av-Gas there for quite awhile now, and the monthly sales continue to increase because they're selling it for less than area airports. This brings more people in to see the facilities. A new hangar at a cost of $1million is scheduled to get underway as the hangar space already there is no longer available and there is a demand from aviators using the facility for more hangar space. An aviation maintenance company has also located it's operations at the airport as well. The airport is doing quite wel

News flash!!! The airport has been open for awhile now. Business and the use of it has been increasing every month. The furlough days would have happened even if the new government building hadn't been constructed.

I've read this response twice and both times came away with the same impressions. The first impression I get from your remarks is that because Womble/Contour don't have enough assets to make it worth you going after them, you have now set your sites on the county. It sounds like you're expecting to get from the county what you would have gone after Womble/Contour for if they still had enough assets. By your own statements, it was Womble/Contour who caused the actual damages. The next impression I have is if the BoC had taken your settlement offer, you would have used their "admission" to s -

In that offer, did you also offer you would sign an agreement that there would be no further suits filed by you in regards to the water report? -

You don't see how your actions in this forum are prejudicing people against the county to your favor by only what you say, which may or not be the truth. Drew Lane sent the water matter to the State Independent Prosceutors Office, which I think was the right thing to do. Think about it; if his office investigated it and cleared the county; there would be people claiming it's a coverup and the good old boy system was covering each other's butts. Do you not agree? If the State Independent Prosecutors did nothing with it, they most likely saw nothing there to investigate. Are you claim -

You say you want to go to trial because you feel the jury would award you more than what you have offered the county for a settlement. Don't you think your posts and polls on this suit could be construed that you're attempting to prejudice a jury in your favor prior to any such trial? If I were the county, I would definitely make a motion for a change of venue prior to any court date being set. -

Nope, I didn't live in Detroit in the 60's. I have no idea where you got that. My grandparents lived in Southfield though and my aunt and uncle in Farmington Hills; my other aunt and uncle in Romulus. During the 60's, I lived in NC, Okinawa, and then Augusta, GA.
