  1. Why don't you just move to France and Belgium? I purchase my health care through my employer because it's less expensive. I have BC/BS and it's a premium coverage plan. My Rx plan is fantastic. I have very little out of pocket expenses.
  2. Another is "lets." The only time it is used with an apostrophe is when it means "let us," such as "Let us go to the game." The apostrophe is not used when it is meant as allow or permit, such as, "Dad lets the dog on the sofa."
  3. I would hope so. I know in one case the father who killed his daughter (I believe this was in AZ) was using his religious beliefs as a defense.
  4. I've spent time in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan where Islamic law prohibited us from entering mosques.
  5. Everybody on this forum has access to the internet to research this themselves, yet many have only demonstrated LTD they only look at those sites that tell them half-truths or out and out lies. Facts have been given to show this economy really isn't recovering, but instead is hanging on by a thread.
  6. Islam prohibits non-believers from entering mosques.
  7. I can't believe this topic hasn't been moved to the political forum yet.
  8. Call the Sheriff's Office and lodge a complaint.
  9. Buy a windup clock that ticks loudly and place it on top of the crate at night. It will help the puppy sleep as it will remind it of momma's heartbeat. I do this all the time with pups and it keeps them from whining in the crate.
  10. They said it was a water moccasin. The thing could have been on the roof of the car and they didn't notice it. The only good venomous snake is a dead one.
  11. Exactly. Hasn't MARTA been operating at a loss?
  12. Lumber referred to as 2x4's are cut from logs to measure 2"x4" plus the length. However, the drying process and planing of the lumber reduces them to 1.5" x 3.5" in finished product. That's how they have always measured as far back as I can remember. Just remember the size whether it's 2x4, 1x2, 1x6 or whatever is the original cut from the log.
  13. The good thing about that is, when you or your wife go grocery shopping, you most likely buy groceries for a week, which saves money. Many people who live within a couple of minutes from a grocery store will go several times a week to pick something up for dinner and then buy things they hadn't intended to do, increasing their grocery costs.
  14. I have a friend who is just turned 50 who suffers from gout. He's not overweight at all. In fact he's a health nut who exercises all the time. He cannot eat any shell fish. If he does, it will definitely bring on and episode of gout.
  15. For clarification; are you defining crazy as in mentally ill?
  16. It's called free enterprise and there is nothing wrong with it. The other sporting good stores will just have to be more competitive. I've been in Sports authority several times. It's a good place to go to get some tennis shoes, but I found it useless for what I wanted in my golf needs. This new store carries a huge selection of sporting goods and at good prices.
  17. I like Academy Sports as well. I used to go to the one in Augusta quite often. I found their prices to be very competitive. I think they will do very well here.
  18. She said this: Look at the part in that sentence that says, "what they do." Her sentence could be broken down to three different statements. "The majority of PC residents done even know the BoC." The majority of PC residents don't even know what they BoC does." The majority of PC residents don't know who the BoC members are." Do you get it now? You caught that as well.
  19. I can't believe how many people think the BoC is supposed to provide the money to buy text books for the schools.
  20. You are absolutely correct. I am not a county employee and I do try to keep myself well informed. I really like living here and I think there are lots of things that can be done to improve this county to include our public schools. Not all ideas are going to be popular with everyone and I don't pretend they will be. Good post.
  21. I have no idea surepip. I do know this; I'm certainly not making a decision solely based on what you say. I need to hear all sides of the issues before I render any judgement either way. What's a pity though, with everything this county has to contend with, it all just boils down to your lawsuits for you. No what decisions the BoC makes for the overall good of this county, you appear to find nothing but fault with those decisions. I find that rather pathetic myself.
  22. Somehow, I doubt the majority of people who are unhappy with this BoC will be happy with a completely new BoC. History here seems to demonstrate that.
