We're underwater with our mortgage and have wanted to move for several years now. With the market so favorable for buyers, we have decided we'd like to try to rent our house out and move... What are the basic rules of doing this? Do you have to have renters in the home for so long before you can get another mortgage? Or can you buy immediately if you show a rental agreement?

I have a baby gate and my baby stays in the same room with me. My 6-year-old is free to go upstairs and be in any room of the house. My 3-year-old is also allowed to go upstairs into the playroom if he wants. But these kids were under 2, and put 10 of them together, and there is lots of room for an accident. There were also shelves in the room that could have easily fallen over if a child were to try to climb them. I'm a SAHM, but I have to agree with you in that I think a home daycare is more likely to "screw up." I'm not at all saying that there are not good, safe home daycares out there with loving and conscientious providers, but I think something is less likely to happen in a good daycare facility where they follow rules on a daily basis and there are multiple caregivers. Even if a home daycare is licensed, there is really no way to ensure that rules are being followed each day. That is just so absolutely terrible....words can't explain how awful that mother is feeling. To lose a child is the most terrible pain anyone could feel, but to lose a child over something that could have easily been prevented multiplies that pain a thousand times. I feel so bad for the little girl and her family. EACH teacher should be required to do a headcount before entering the facility again and after everyone is settled back into the room. The daycare owner should also visit each room to verify that count.

Is that a house?? It's directly to the left of the church if you are facing it...right in front of the fountain and gazebo. At first I didn't think it was a house and thought it was some sort of other building, as did a few other people... Just wondering...I took a few photographs near the very back of that "yard" a few weeks ago...right next to the church parking lot, and I didn't want to do that again, obviously, if it was someone's property...but the way it's laid out, I'm also not sure how far back is part of their yard or if that area is part of the church property... Thanks, Devon! Here's another preview pic. The ones you posted are really just rough edits, but I felt they were good enough to post on FB. I always do a quick rough edit of a few pix...sure I will tweak them just a bit more, though. Just let me know when some good times are, and we will work it out.
