  1. Any chance of a venomous snake bite?
  2. Ragsdale ruined my unit so they won't get near any home of mine again. Air Command is amazing. PM me and I'll give you contact information. Office may be in Marietta but part of the ownership lives out here and I believe some of the techs do, too. Great company, great people. edited to remove contact information of non-commerce member business.
  3. Well look ... Joined:25-June 09 ... he's such a newb. That's what you get from newbs.
  4. No worries. Not trying to be argumentative ... I just like facts and accuracies and such. No doubt "they" are slow in getting the reality of Lyme in GA. It's much more common than so many realize.
  5. When did that change? Both of mine were 4.
  6. From your initial post: "...Because Lyme Disease "doesn't exist" in Georgia. Because, according to the CDC and the Infectious Disease Society of America, chonic Lyme doesn't exist..." That is what I addressed. CDC absolutely does say that it exists here and with regard to chronic Lyme: "...Approximately 10 to 20% of patients treated for Lyme disease with a recommended 2–4 week course of antibiotics will have lingering symptoms of fatigue, pain, or joint and muscle aches. In some cases, these can last for more than 6 months. Although often called "chronic Lyme disease," this condi
  7. He should get his schedule, a map, and a chance to walk to each class and meet each teacher.

    OMG !

This is another school supplies list, isn't it?
  9. Maybe if we all whine about it enough on an internet forum it will fix it.
  10. And so many of them really don't get it ... they put too much faith in the blot test and the target rash.
  11. CDC does recognize "chronic" Lyme. They just tend to refer to it by its technically correct name, Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome. http://www.cdc.gov/lyme/postLDS/index.html And the CDC does recognize confirmed cases of Lyme in the state of Georgia. http://www.cdc.gov/lyme/resources/ReportedCasesofLymeDisease_2011.pdf
  12. So as I said, slap some stickers on that sucker ... but trying to get a class of 20-30 kids to all move quickly through subject change at the elementary school level without a simple color coded system is a pointless.time waster.
  13. The specific colors are to identify the subjects ... to make things move faster when switching in the classroom, not to stifle creativity or individuality. A lot of these kids have a hard time remember which folder and it is faster and easier to be able to say "get out your red folder" (Sorry I keep adding) I wonder when the last time is that you spent any time in a class full of kids trying to keep them all moving quickly through their schedule for the day and not dilly-dallying and wasting time. And if you realize how often they get the wrong stuff out. And how much wasted time
  14. "Scooter" is a very broad term. Some of them are not much different from some motorcycles and are perfectly good for driving "surface streets" throughout the area so you should be fine. In theory.
  15. I'm just anxious to get on to really important issues like which night the kids are trick-or-treating this year.
  16. Assuming we're still discussing the original post, keep two things in mind: 1.) This is from a Cobb County school 2.) This is a list of items "apparently" required And some other thoughts ... the backpack, 9x12 folder, and lunch box are all together one one line for a reason. Those are things the child needs but will be going back and forth each day with the child. It is the rest of the list, each item on its own line, that constitutes the class supplies for common use. As for brand specific names ... for some of them it is likely just to clarify the type (Clorox to differentiate f
  17. I can't believe that I am allowing myself to get sucked into this but ... No parent? Really? Surely you just worded that poorly, right?
  18. Many thanks to all that were able to help. Because of the wonderful staff and families of Ragsdale Elementary, 126 lives will be saved!
  19. They have prisoners out year round in Paulding, too. They just can't keep up with all the lazy, disrespectful slobs that live in and/or drive through our county.
  20. Your friend is lucky to be in a safer area. It is very real. It is being escalated by the Egyptian government to be sure but it not being hyped by the media any more than any other situation ever is. It's actually very sad. It started out as a good thing and has gotten quite ugly.
