For the record I am none of those things... just a very average middle class family. My husband is a well paid tradesman with 25 years experience and I am a full time SAHM. We have had good health insurance for 20 years and the new reality is simply unaffordable. -
The phrase "trying to polish a turd" comes to mind.

Your first mistake is claiming that the ACA allows for a free and competitive market. -

It does not matter if you think that is a good deal. We simply cannot afford almost $10,000 per year for crappy high deductible coverage that we never use. We would be better off pocketing that cash and just paying the fine. We are very healthy and rarely see the doctor except for well checks. I would love to purchase a catastrophic plan that only covers major expense, and simply pay for the rest out of pocket, but Obamacare killed those policies. -
You seem to think that SKYROCKETING premiums are not directly affecting these middle class folks. There have been dozens of articles posted on your very own website from mainstream sources that clearly show employer provided insurance policies are beginning to experience big time rate shock. Our premiums for employer based insurance are now DOUBLE what they were last year. (100% increase.) The middle class cannot afford Obamacare and when they drop coverage the dreaded death spiral begins.

Why am I being forced to purchase a policy that includes mandatory maternity coverage ? ? ? The ACA requires that approved insurance policies includes all sorts of extraneous care.

We have always been able to afford health insurance until now. Our new Obamacare mandated coverage will be over $800 per month. Any additional increase next year will cause us to drop insurance. We are not eligible for any subsidy, so we will just pay the fine. Thanks to Obamacare we will now join the ranks of the uninsured. -

Our new premiums are more than your current mortgage.

I worry about the middle class. My husband makes a decent living and we are a very healthy family of three. We have always been able to afford basic health insurance until now. Our monthly premiums are skyrocketing. Just got notice that the new rates will be more than our mortgage. We cannot afford to keep our health insurance. Many middle class families will be losing their insurance under this horrible law as they cannot afford a huge spike in premiums and still pay their regular bills. We live a frugal lifestyle... no cable TV, no cells phones, we rarely go out to eat.

Hence the attempt to divert from the topic.
