We accept your offer to help. As soon as we received venue confirmation, I'll be in touch with the date and time. From that point it will happen very quickly. I am very proud of Kayla and everyone that has embraced her. She's a pretty cool kid, well I should say...young lady now. She takes the pageant very seriously. I am her voice and legs but she is the master mind behind it all. I'm sure she would enjoy seeing you again so I hope it works out that you can help. Thanks!!!

Thank you! I will accept all offers!

Yes, that's the same kind of service and mentality, my daughter met when she was on employment. DFACS is the same. She is an unskilled worker, but attending school now to gain a skill, and has 3 children. She qualifies for aid for her children. Her unemployment ended and thank goodness she was able to secure a job at a little above minimum wage. However, DFACS sent her a letter stating that she exceeded the income requirements for her kids on Medicaid and cancelled their coverage. Her 6 year old son's appendics ruptured causing emergency surgery and 5 days in the hospital. When she call -

I tried to watch it but got "car sick" and had to turn it off! Damn! -
This is a great website for southern recipes and she even gives step by step instructions and photos, which is perfect for someone just learning to cook. She has a fried pie recipe using canned biscuits and she also used canned biscuits to make some yummy looking donuts. She lives in Alabama and recently appeared with AL Roker on his show, maybe you got it. Anyway, check out her website. http://www.southernplate.com/

No mail delivery today and UPS will not be out today either. Here's a link from AJC full of info regarding road conditions and other information. Stay warm!! http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta-weather-snow-ice-800743.html

DOT is asking everyone to stay off the roads! Why not ask your employer if there is work you can do from home? At least then, you've gone the extra mile. But please listen to those that know the conditions of the roads...and follow their advice! There have been reports of 415 wrecks since Sunday, and I think that's is the city of Atlanta alone!

For those of you wanting to know a little more about FARA, I just received this newsletter in my email this morning. Ron Bartek is the founder of FARA and recently lost his son to this horrible disease. I believe his son was in his young 20's, which is the average life expectancy for FAers that develop this disease at a very young age, such as Liberty Lady's niece and my granddaughter. FARA's mission is to find a cure and they, along with the members (& parents) of FARA are always trying to raise $$$s for research. Hopefully a cure will be found in the near future. Thanks, Liberty Lad

I voted! And, urge others to vote too. You can vote daily...so far, FARA is leading...thanks to everyone that votes!!! My granddaughter has FA and it is a terrible, terrible disease. She was diagnosed at the tender young age of 8. I watched my beautiful granddaughter, a social butterfly - popular amongst all her little friends and on a competition dance team winning trophies...go from active to walking with the aid of a walker, then using a scooter to get around, then a stroller and ending up, unable to support her weight and using a power chair full-time. At a time when most teenagers

How lucky you were to receive and how lucky you are to be in a position to give back! Happy Holidays!!!

I just thought of another idea....it would involve your entire family plus it would be something that your daughter could take ownership for, with your supervision....it would require an investment of time too, but hey, anything worth doing is worth doing right and all the way!!! She could organize a winter coat drive or canned food drive thru her school or church. it would be a wonderful experience, not only in giving to others but also organizing, communications and marketing. We have a friend that started a shoebox program where they collected personal items for service men and women.

Do it as a family, if she sees you and your husband involved, its less likely it will feel like a lesson! And even if she does, maybe one day she will look back and see the lesson! There are so many ways to volunteer...food banks, going to a nursing home and brightening someone's day that doesnt have family, visiting shut-in neighbors, adopting a child or family at Christmas, volunteering at one of the non-profit thrift stores here on pcom ... here's a link from the Internet. Hope it gets you started! http://www.bygpub.com/books/tg2rw/volunteer.htm Good luck - teenagers can be cha
