When my mother died we "borrowed" a casket from the funeral home for the viewing. Then we had to purchase a "casket" (a really strong cardboard box) that she was transported to the crematorium in and she was cremated in that. At the time we were told it was a state law. My sisters even went with her body to the crematorium. They told us what would happen and we picked up the ashes (cremains) a couple of days later. They are in a beautiful jewelry looking box now that my sisters take turns keeping. I knew from the minute that she left her body that my Mama wasn't there anymore. I think everyone

While it isn't the can version, I make a mock brunswick stew that I call BBQ Chicken Stew that I htink is very easy. You take chopped up chicken add a bag of frozen mixed veggies and a bag of frozen gumbo veggies. Put it all in a pot of water with a bit of chicken broth or bouillon. When it is all cooked add 1/2 bottle of bbq sauce. (or more to taste.) You will be surprised how good this is.

Hi everyone! December is a great and very busy time for us at the bakery! We are making cookie trays, cupcakes, pies and some wonderfully decadent cakes for parties at schools, homes and workplaces. From what was on the news last night, it was 1 picture and he was not the focus of an investigation, he just got caught up in it by the picture being tracked back to him. They have had his computers and only came across the 1 picture. IMHO, I would think most pervs would not stop at 1, they would have many. I had it Baaaaaaaaaaaaad. To the point where I could not walk. I didn't want to get shots, but finally did. I am not kidding, I had so much inflammation that 1st cortisone shot hurt like $%%#@! But it was worth it. It got so much better in a very short while after that 1st shot. Then the podiatrist told me I needed another and well, I didn't want to. But I did, and it didn't hurt anywhere near as bad as the 1st one. My kids stood in line last year. They got there EARLY in the afternoon, right after dinner Thanksgiving Day. they did get what they went after, but people who got there later in the day lost out. The items like the tv and computers are very limited and go fast! I owuld suggest getting online and trying instead of standing in line.

Okay, okay...today is the day! Who all is planning on stopping by the bakery today? Open house will start at 1:00 and last until 5:00. We worked hard and baked a lot to make sure we had tons of stuff in the cases and lots and lots of samples. We want to thank all of our customers for a great year. Woot! Woot! Tomorrow is the big day! OPEN HOUSE from 1-5! We will have samples of our pumpkin, sweet potato and fudge pies!
