SO, In YOUR opinion, I should let my kids go home with them KNOWING she is mentally unstable? If anything happened while my kids are there it would take me AT LEAST 10 HOURS to get to them and I would NOT be willing to take that chance. They can have visitation, at MY house with ME and my HUSBAND present. If my hubby doesn't trust his own mother with our kids, why the hell should I? We do not discuss my in laws "issues" in front of our kids. They think they don't come visit often b/c my MIL has back problems, which is the truth. We don't visit them b/c we have 4 kids and 2 dogs, mix that

Eternal punishment??? After what he did, he deserves to rot in hell.

I am SO sorry that happened to your girls My in law issues are nothing compared to that.

Maybe they are just pissed that we "took their sons away from them"! My MIL has a problem with all of her meds, she is on several anti-depressant/anti-anxiety meds and I really don't think they help her. She did "try" to OD about a year ago. Her brother slit his wrists about 6 months after she "tried" to OD and she kept saying she didn't understand how someone could want to end their lives....UM, didn't you try 6 months ago?! I really think she is bi-polar and doesn't remember her depressive episodes. When she's manic, she is OVERLY happy and friendly. I know she needs help b/c whatever sh

That is terrible and yes, unforgivable.

WOW! My MIL recently told my husband "He'll see my true colors when I stop getting my way" WTH? I don't try to "get my way"! What's so funny is that when I first married my husband, my MIL HATED her other DIL. Now she loves her and hates me! But does she act like she resents you for it now or do you get along ok?
-
Just wondering if you pcommers get along with your in laws or not. I was reading another thread about someone's DD, SIL and grandchildren moving out. I would have to avoid living with my in laws at ALL costs...one of us would end up in a psych ward (MIL) or jail!! My in laws are wonderful people but I am glad they live 10 hours away in NC! When I first married my husband 11yrs ago, we got along very well. Lately there is a definite strain on our relationship and their relationship with my husband. My 2 oldest children are beginning to ask why they don't come visit, they think they don

If you are referring to PC as the Redneck Riviera, I have heard it called this as well. The OP asked which we prefer out of the two options, I chose PCB out of the two b/c I prefer it. To me, it is much prettier than the Atlantic beaches I have visited. Yes, the last time my family went on a beach trip it was to PCB, but the main reason we went there and not some gulf town "off the beaten path" is b/c my dad was going to retire there (he was from Chicago and FAR from being a redneck and he happened to LOVE PCB)! He died before he got to live out his retirement dream so I spread his ashes there

I have NO desire to go to Daytona, but thanks for the advice!

It is not the responsibility of the PCP's office staff to know benefits of EVERY plan. That is why it is best to go straight to the insurance company itself.
-
Not everyone allows their kids play in the road unsupervised. If my kids are out playing and riding their bikes in our neighborhood,I am right there with them.
-
Every plan is different and some require referral for only certain types of specialists. The BC/BS plan we have does not require a referral for OB/GYN's, Dermatologists but a referral is needed for orthopedics, gastro, etc. I'd call the 800 number on the insurance card. Edited to say that I hope your DH feels better soon!

Because having people drive on the beach is SO classy! Better not take your eyes off the kids, they may get run over while they build that sand castle...

If you are looking for a great OB/GYN I HIGHLY recommend OB/GYN Associates in Marietta. They are next to Kennestone Hospital. They have several Dr's and midwives and deliverd 3 or my 4 kids! I see Dr. Tackitt for all of my yearly visits (and he is performing surgery on me in 2.5 weeks) but I rotated with most of the dr's during my pregnancies. Their office is very cozy, FULL of antiques, not the typical sterile feel of most dr's offices. The entire staff is wonderful, too!

It was actually the second time it happened! The first was after we were fishing at the lake in our neighborhood. It has never happened again!! We (my husband & I) LOVE the beach but with 4 kids 8 and under, it just isn't as relaxing as we'd like it to be! I am the type that wants a cold adult beverage in one hand and a good book in the other and I only want to move to turn myself over to tan the other side!! Not possible with little ones...One day we'll get our relaxing beach vaca!

Good point! Like I said, we have never stayed there. My oldest is scared to go back to the beach, she had some crazy allergic reaction to something last time we were there that caused her hands and feet to tingle and her face to swell. Never found out what it was from, even after seeing an allergist. We prefer to take or family vacations at Disney or in the mountains!

Here is Splash Condos site.

Here is a link for Splash Condos. LOTS of kid activities!! Not sure about Sandestin personally but I have friends that said it was very nice!

There is a place in PC Beach called Splash that looks like TONS of fun for kids. It's on the end of PC that isn't too crowded. We stayed near here in May of 08 and they have really cleaned it up since the last time I was in PC. I would NOT go on Spring Break but if you are going over the summer it shouldn't be overcrowded with crazy teens and college students. Have a great trip with your lil man!! Wherever you decide to go, I'm sure you will make lots of memories and have a great time together!

The Gulf is SOOOO much prettier than any beach I have been to on the Atlantic. Sugar white sand and crystal clear water!! How old is your son? There is a new(ish) resort in PC Beach called Splash, it looks like a lot of fun!! www.vrbo.com is a great place to find rentals!

That's so funny, I can't stand the smell of regular PinSol! I guess that's why there are a zillion different cleaners out there!!
-
I use the Libman Wonder Mop. The floors dry quickly (but I do use ceiling fans in the kitchen & master bath when I mop) and the head of the mop can be washed or replaced! I can also clean the baseboards with it. ETA: My FAVORITE cleaner to mop with is orange Pine Sol...it smells so good!

I will keep her in my prayers. I can't imagine what she must be going thru. I pray the stress and emotions don't cause her to go into labor early. That would make things much more difficult.
