  1. Don't see how we could be any competition for Delta, as we don't have interstate access for one and Paulding is unknown to many, even in Cobb. They would have to build the really outer loop from 75 to 20 that they proposed a number of years back for it to attract a lot of folks. I have a sister-in-law who should be in the approach path over in Yorkville --- maybe she could get a job waving the flags for the planes. Other things include the TSA having to provide security and they're out of funds and that the airport seems to be in tornado alley. No way they'll get a major airlin
  2. If we didn't check FB, we'd never know what the children & grandchildren were doing. Only place to get pics of them too. Blocked all the games and junk as well as their re-posts from all sorts of sources they forward by using the pull-down arrow by the posts I don't want. Also, I've found a number of our long-list relatives all over the country by following relatives' friends trail. Would love to stay off there, but can't!!!
  3. There is a new Neurologists office in the Paulding Physicians Center on Bill Carruth, in the same office with Pinnacle Orthopedics. A pcom member said earlier, "That is dr. Zdonczyk. He is a wonderful doctor." You can find the quote HERE and ask why in a PM.
  4. Got an e-mail with the following message: Comes from an e-mail address in Japan (.jp) and warnings are all over the web about it.
  5. Marietta Eye on Canton Rd. near the hospital. We've seen Dr. Andre Cohen, Dr. Long and Dr. Lows in Marietta and at the D'ville Office too. They have a bunch of locaions. All are excellent.
  6. can't do that anymore --- the kid knows how to dial 911, can't dial child services yet!!!
  7. No, she has a younger brother, almost 3, who of course she has conflict with. The stuff at school in new and she has seen the school counselor. I will suggest it.
  8. We were shopping this afternoon at Ingles on Nebo Road and without warning a young boy, my guess was seven, wife's guess was six, suddenly ran up and surprised me with a hug, and then returned to his Mom, who apparently knew he was going to do it, and was ok with it. Gotta say I'm still glowing. My wife and I didn't see him coming in for the hug, so it was a great pay it forward experience for this old senior. Wonderful day.
  9. If anyone has a recommendation for a Child Psychologist or Psychiatrist, please PM me. Our adult daughter is concerned that our almost five granddaughter is acting up in her new school and thinks she might have to see someone. Occasional spitting has now become hitting. She was the center of attention in her old school and now she's with other stars in the new one. Also, her Mom is worried that she might be missing her --- Mom works odd hours and daughter is now going to school five days a week.
  10. My wife had surgery done by Dr. Andre Cohen, who founded Marietta Eye. We se him at his D'ville office and the surgery is done at the Marietta location. Excellent doctor.
  11. Call Tony at Hole in One Pest Solutions. 770.445.2215 They're commerce members on here and have done an excellent job for us.
  12. Remember the Fox News motto, Fair and Balanced Reporting. which I take to mean Fair (not Good) and Balanced (some true, some biased, some not) Reporting. For instance, How many times did Geraldo go off on Wild Goose or Mummy chases? I do enjoy the Georgia Gang on Sunday Mornings, which does present both sides of the issues Nationally and Locally, although one on the panel is unbalanced.
  13. Dancing With the Stars was pushed to Tuesday at 1:37am tis week to make room for Monday Night Football. Phone voting ended at 11pm Monday and on-line voting ends at 8pm Tuesday. When I pointed this out to the local station, they said I could vote without watching the show I pointed out that since the votes aren't going to be used until next Monday this year, they certainly could have left voting open until Wednesday, so Atlanta folks could watch tonight and vote. But, as we all know, it's a popularity contest, not a dancing contest, even though the judges say the opposite.
  14. One online site tagged the Hiram Kmart for closing by mistake. They meant to tag the D'ville store, which closed already. Forgot which site.
  15. Saw that there are 3 local authors signing at the bookworm in Powder Springs on Saturday 2-4. Lynn Hubbard signs newest book War of Hearts Together they will discover a passion for each other, for life, and for freedom. Following along after Washington’s Army, was not what Sarah Fanum had planned. Mechelle Stephens signs Unmasking Unmasking is the autobiographical account of how one woman struggled to hide the scars left behind from molestation, promiscuity and domestic violence beneath a façade of normalcy. Evelyn Hunter signs It's Not About the Ribbon, It's About the

  17. I expect it would have to be a shuttle to either Birmingham or Chattanooga. But, after what happened at the field a couple of years ago, I don't know why. It is in tornado alley.
  18. There is a new Neurologists office in the Paulding Physicians Center on Bill Carruth, in the same office with Pinnacle Orthopedics. Don't remember name, nor do I have a recommendation, as I was seeing Dr. Pesson, the Orthopedist, at the time.
  19. Just saw in today's paper that Clint Black was going to be at the Mill Town Music Hall in Bremen this evening, so I went to their website to check it out, since I couldn't believe a venue in Bremen would be booking good talent, as Cedartown and Marietta have stopped doing so because they were losing money. Saw that they already had some well-known acts and more are coming. Also, I'm looking forward to Driving Miss Daisy in Dallas, but since Theatre in the Square closed, I have been looking for things to see and accidentally discovered the Southside Theatre Guild in Fairburn. Went to see th
