Here is what kids have to wear these days, for safety, just to ride a bike. http://img03.taobaocdn.com/bao/uploaded/i3/10849022588598218/T1h.uvXE0dXXXXXXXX_!!0-item_pic.jpg Here is what we wore in our day when riding a bike. http://jrmalmquistnovelist.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/schwinn-sting-ray-catalog2.jpg ] Here is what we used for safety when riding our bikes in our day. http://static3.depositphotos.com/1000645/121/i/950/depositphotos_1214753-Playing-cards.jpg Now, someone had to elect those people that made these rules, so why be surprised when they just foll

I have posted a few times about when in the 1930's my grandfather shot a man for stealing two of his chickens. This was at the corner of Roswell Rd. and Piedmont Rd. He called the cops and told them he shot a man stealing his chickens and for them to come and get him. (the thief) When I asked what did the cops do to him, his reply was, "Why would they do anything to me? He was breaking the law, I just stopped him." Times have changed.

I used to lose my truck at least once a year. (and it was a lot bigger than a baby) But that was usually around St. Patrick's Day, so there were extenuating circumstances.

Anyone know of any cheap tennis coaches?
cookies are sweet replied to Mektige's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have held my finger as long as I could. How much are they selling tennis coaches for these days? Have you tried K-Mart's Blue Light Special? Or one of the used sport's equipment places? I bought a slightly used soccer coach at one for a great price. (he wasn't as good at yard work as I thought he would be, so we traded him in on a goat) (sorry, it was killing me) Try the Atlanta Tennis Association (or whatever it's called), maybe they could help. -
I have a very good, long term friend and his daughter, who has had some major health issues, is renting my (our) other house. She just got a job teaching in Rome and her rent is next to nothing, literally. (heck the water bill is almost as much as the rent) BUT, she is a friend (well, the daughter of a friend, I am kinda like the crazy uncle no one wants to admit is in the family, except around family) and we are trying to help her and having her in the house helps us also. Also, a shout out to Citizen Cain, who when I was in a jam, rented me a room back in the early 90's at a very reas

I thought the attorney thing was the most interesting part. Thanks for clearing that up. I had a hard time understanding how someone so young, whose kid went missing, could have a lawyer so quick. But now I know. As far as the rest of it goes, there are so many possibilities, it would be hard to speculate. As far as the psychic goes, I think that is a sign of youth and the times. (but I did find it interesting also) I can promise, if my kid went missing, there could come a time when a psychic would not be out of the question. But I doubt it would be in the first hour.

I am all for assistance, within reason. (who's reason, mine) Like I and others said in another thread, I wish we would give more help to those who are working and trying to do better and less help for those who haven't had any job in years. I truly believe that if we were able to leave all the assistance money in the pockets of those who earned it, more actual assistance would get to the people who need it, through community programs, family helping family, friends helping friends, etc. But we are too far down the road for this to ever happen. I would love to see something like the Ci

I saw on tonight's news that an 18 month old girl went missing yesterday. The mother (who appears to be in her early 20's) called the police (and a psychic) and the neighborhood was searched several times. On one of the many searches of the neighborhood, the baby was a found a few doors down, sitting in the woods, safe and sound. In fact, she wasn't upset or even dirty. The baby is in DEFACS custody and has not yet been returned to the mother. Now, this is the part I found this interesting. When the news people asked the mother about what DEFACS has told her about why her baby hasn't

A Random Question from the Subconscious

Well it did. -
I understand. Just for the record, they were white kids. Oh, I left out the guy got busted for drugs. But according to him, it was a mistake. Funny, my 80 yr old mother never gets caught up in those kind of mistakes. Not once in 80 years.

Sorta like what happened to the Brady's dog on the Brady Bunch. It just disappeared. I still think PETA needs to look into that. -
I was watching Judge Judy today, yes I am a huge fan, and she had a case where there was a young couple who broke up and the guy wanted his stuff back. Here is the setup. The couple is in their mid 20's. They have one child together, the guy has another kid with another woman and the girl has another kid with another man. (so 3 kids by 4 adults) (edited to correct to 3 kids, not 4) The couple lived in subsidized housing, the rent was $2 per month. Neither the man nor the woman has a job. The government takes care of them and the kids. The guy doesn't have a driver license, he lost it

Dick York was the "original" Darren. He did not die until the early 90's. He left the show do to a back problem that had plagued him for many years. He had hurt his back while making a movie with Gary Cooper (sorry, the name escapes me at the moment) and that started him having constant back pain and an issue with pain pills. He worked as long as he could and then had to quit, if memory serves he wasn't able to stand for very long, so he was unable to work. I think he developed emphysema or some sort of breathing problem later in life. Just saw this after I posted. I guess that -
That game was fixed! Even Bubba Smith said so. (of course that was before he died, he hasn't spoken since he passed) (at least, not to me anyway)

You know she is for changing the names. NOW you are really reaching!

Don't be silly, of course he is. The next crazy thing rumor will be that George Allen isn't coaching the Redskins and that Lombardi is.

I heard that they used a shot of me on one of the local TV news casts last night. Apparently I wasn't doing anything I shouldn't have been doing (thank god), just unhappy at the Jets field goal at the end. A star is born....again.

That is the basic answer, although many have gone on to explain in more detail. The same reason I called my Uncle I.D. and my Aunt Ruby, uncle and aunt, even though they were technically my cousins, who knows what, removed. And I called their children my cousins. -
Have I told you lately just how special I think you are and how much you mean to me?

This reminded me of my first marriage. :shivers:
