I posted as a non paying person for a short while. Then I met Pubby....a nice guy, though sadly misguided in his political views. I thought about it a little and decided that if I was going to play, it was only fair I pay. Now that does not mean that I think that those who don't pay are doing something wrong, some may not have the resources at the moment and some may just not wish to. To each his/her own decision. I however, so far, have been able to afford the fee and I have no problem with Pubby making a few extra bucks. (if he does) I doubt he is burying coffee cans full of hundreds

You are absolutely correct. However, there is a certain kind of sociopath that has the ability to mimic (very well) the compassion and empathy of a normal person, for an extended period of time. I agree there would be questions about how to make it work, but as been noted, there are other school systems that have implemented some type of program, so it not like it has to be built from the ground up without any plans to work by. One question, at least in my post was already answered, 1st time offenders only. It is also just my opinion, which along with a quarter will get you a gumball. I agree that some kids are going down the drug and alcohol path no matter what, but there are those who start down that path and then with input from experts, see where that path leads and change

I certainly go along with this type of thinking. No matter what the consequences are by the school, suspension for a period of time or whatever, a mandatory part of getting back into school should be some type of drug/alcohol program completed by the student. Heck, we do it for adults, who should know better, when they get their 1st DUI, why not at least do the same for the kids.
