    Just for the record, all towns and counties have these same issues, to one degree or another. Crooked or on the edge of crooked deals abound everywhere. To me, the thing is this. When you know the people that you elected are doing things that are wrong or are on the edge of wrong, you need to stop them. How, many ways, but one is to not vote for them. I am not directing this post at any one elected official, only you can decide who meets this criteria. My mother has a saying that I think applies to these types of situations; "Good people will do bad things when money is involved."

    Once while driving down I-75 from Knoxville to Chattanooga, I had some jerk come flying (and I do mean flying) up on my butt. I was in the left lane doing 78mph and he just came right up on me and hit the horn and brakes at the same time. He could have gone around on right hand side with no trouble, but he didn't. Normally I would have moved over before he got to me, but he was going over a 100 and just all the sudden was there. He did go around, blowing the horn the whole time. He had a GA tag that read, NCHARGE. I wonder if he had a large ego??

    Nope, but I have an app that let's me know when a Krispy Kreme's Hot n Fresh sign lights up. (not really, my flip phone doesn't even have apps, at least I don't think it does)

    This is the thing that no one talks about and it is the most likely to happen, either by accident, by design or from nature (a huge sun flare could do it). The is great book on what might happen if an EMP hit the US, One Second After by William R. Forstchen. It is a fictional account of what happens to the town of Black Mountain, NC when an EMP weapon hits the USA. While it is fictional, it does a good job of listing what would be affected and how life would change.

    In all seriousness, I understand what the OP is referring to. My wife has said that I am punishing her by not talking to her when there has been an argument and I am pouting. I usually end up hugging her and telling her I am sorry. She usually agrees with me that I am sorry. Hmmm, now that I see it in writing......
