  1. ahhh - I remember when grocery stores had cigarettes out in the open - (I feel old)

I could tell you the story of the creepy gas station guy that was a block from our school (high school) - he would let us have beer, smokes, whatever - and put it on our "tab" - same creepy guy watched porn in the back room

  2. It really didn't. Take the pill. You can go back to natural, organic health when you stop smoking.

(Ya' know, AOB, the herb will kill you faster than cigs :p )

I can see where the OP would be upset. They should check IDs for cigs, especially if the person looks to be under 25.

Just don't close down my beer store.

There's the Citgo at the end of Bobo.

(Their beer isn't cold enough. I need chilly beers.)

ya' know - nothing in those coolers is cold - it's not just the beer.

hey, did you know that you're beer store is now open 24/7? :) I'm so happy about that!!!!

  3. Me female my husband (Ex) was a military husband... why should we not speak of this??? are we ashmed of the women that serve I hope not>>>>

nope, it was a joke. :)

I can't speak for a military husband as I am not one - but I would assume the same obnoxious thread started by Joe would have offended them as well.

    :D

  4. well my husband did stop the sale tonight.

What are your suggestions?? We have tried to convince her to stop. My dad has breathing problems from years of smoking. another family member died from emphesema like I said before... we have talked to her and begged her. But sometimes I think doing this makes her want to do it even more. I know if my parents told me not to do something when I was a teen that just made me want to do it even more. I know it's illegal, I'm NOT trying to get someone fired...the guy that sold them was the owner I'm fairly sure - he was in his 30s or 40s.. not a teen himself. And it is illegal to sell them to minors so what he did is also wrong. I am dealing w/ my teen as best I know how. I'm trying to be a realist because I know kids will try things. I don't go around pretending my child is perfect and would never smoke. I tried it to.

don't let those comments get to you - you aren't a bad parent, if you weren't a good parent you wouldn't care if she smoked or not. ;)

  5. I would suggest anyone who is starting the habit of smoking to spend just 15 minutes with someone with emphysema or COPD. It's terrifying to watch that person gasp for every breath when they have done nothing more strenuous than bending over to pick something up of the floor. Or, knowing that they can't lay down in bed because they can't breathe. I run across lots of teenagers in my job whose breath reeks of cigarette smoke. I share with each and every one of them how painful it is to see your family members go through such agony.

Do what you can to encourage her to quit smoking. She may or may not quit, but at least do what you can to convince her. At 16, she is still pretty impressionable.

people still suffer from the "it won't happen to me" syndrome - and when speaking of a teen - someone in their 60's seems ancient, much older than a 16 yr old can comprehend -

I don't think any amount of "shock value" will keep a kid from smoking -

JMHO (as a kid that smoked)

  6. And what about the military Husbands??????

that falls under the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy.

WTH? and I ****** him today

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't speak of such things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn You!

    <_<

  7. sure - I'll stash that up there with all the other "oh just call if you need something" comments people make.

again, I can only speak for myself, but I know others have a boat load of these as well, much like a 40 yr old condom, worthless when you need 'em.

    :glare:

  8. tell you what - if you want to encourage us, try finding a good babysitter, or a grass mower, or someone to fix the stupid little household thingies when they break - I can only speak for myself, but I'm 110% positive I'm not alone in this when I say that sex is the FARTHEST thing from my mind - there's no freakin' time to think of such things!
