Thanks FreeBird. Were you able to self-service activate, or did it require any manual provisioning by support?

Do You have your own telephony eMTA/triple-play modem? Due to impending modem rental price increases, and some technical issues I'm having with current device (TC8305C - specifically, bridge mode not behaving properly), I'm exploring purchasing my own. Arris TM822G seems to be the optimum device for now, and is "compatible " on the comcast device page, but seems to be a mixed bag in success rates with local franchises or comcast support stating that model is not "retail". http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/ http://www.amazon.com/Arris-TM822-Series-Touchstone%C2%AE-Ultra-High/dp/B0

Scheduled for a hydrant bleed today. I've learned a lot about line flushing since yesterday and have no complaints, just wish there was some advance notice so that we could prepare (schedule laundry ahead of time, etc..)

Website indicated 8-4:45 business hours, but emergency/operations folks did note some hydrant flushing in the general area today that could stir up some sediment. No improvement after a 1/2 hour of running my water to clear up, so guess will follow up in the AM. thanks...

If there's anything I despise about election time, it's the dang robocalls. Looks like i'm up to 8 today alone. Does anyone actually listen to these?

also interested in passability of dallas hwy to white oak park vicinity this morning (in a honda odyssey). Wife and Son thankfully made it to a relatives near w.sandtown/avenues last night. Would be fine with them staying, but they're about out of diapers/formula, which of course we stocked up in abundance at HOME in prep for a snow-in.

Our daughter is interested in Girl Scouts (Daisy/Brownie, whatever is appropriate for 7yr). Have tried twice this year to "find a troop" on the GS website, but have never been contacted. https://www.gsgatl.org/what-we-do/membership/Pages/Finding-a-Troop.aspx Anyone have info on local troops (we're in the PCHS/White Oak Park area), and ways to get started? Thanks!

Amazon to start collecting sales tax in Georgia on Sept. 1
dubious replied to barrycdog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Order I placed today was charged sales tax where the item was "sold by" amazon.com, but not on the items that were sold by other merchants through amazon -
I dont know him personally but understand from several accounts that he came home right as firefighters were arriving, and that they were able to get the car out, and that the dog was safe.

Looks like it was 74 bent creek dr. My understanding from neighbors is that no one was in the house and the dog Made it out.

Not at all - Your thoughts are very relevant with today's device and network pervasiveness, and is probably worthy of a larger conversation. You'll note that my join date and post count don't paint a picture of me as an online socialite, with a very similar real life demeanor. Our community does not have a common gathering place, and the most interaction you'll usually see is just a friendly wave while walking the dog. While every social network has their niche, my hopes are for this service to promote direct interaction between those closest to home, relevant to our community and its going

Anyone else out there using nextdoor.com? Not an alternative to pcom - but think of it as a very local social network for just your neighborhood. Has a facebook'ish feel, but the only people that can join are those with verified addresses in the boundries defined for your subdivision. Typical usage might be for HOA, classifieds, neighborhood watch, etc... Will it be a facebook clone that will flop, or be inundated with advertisements in a year? Don't know, but for now it looks pretty neat. NSA security hooplah aside, it purports at least a layer of privacy in that information shared i

Yes Not a teppenyaki style cook at your table, but they have what look to be large open woks in the back where they'll freshly prepare the steak/shrimp/chicken/veggies/what have you , a loose approximation of what you would get at the "choppy choppy fire" places as my DD calls them. I wouldn't put it quite at the same level of food as one of the show places (especially the rice that was not cooked to order), but good enough if you have a hankering without wanting an expensive night out. They also have a selection of prepared meats/rices/sides behind glass like you would see at a typic

Had dinner here tonight - was pretty good, will be back. Usual oriental menu, or $1 servings of the prepared entrees, soups, appetizers, and fresh cooked hibachi combos from $6-8.
