If you're on 278 heading toward Powder Springs, you can turn into the parking lot off 278. If you're coming from behind the store--like from Cleburne Pkwy or from Douglasville up Hiram-Powder Springs Road (like you're coming from Taylor Farm subdivision), you have to turn off Cleburne Parkway and wind your way around to the parking lot. Also, if you're coming from Poplar Springs Rd or from Powder Springs on 278, the easiest way is from Cleburne Parkway. Turn left onto Cleburne Pkwy from 278 and then make a right.

Ummmm, I don't think that facility flooded. It's pretty high ground. That might have been the one down near the Chattahoochee, though. The one in Douglasville is just off Veteran's Memorial, between Greystone and the new firing range. Pretty sure that didn't flood.

NOPE. Did not come from AT&T. I get a lot of those, delivered to my AOL spam folder.

I'm pretty sure Plant City IS south Florida. I know it's not the panhandle. At any rate, the ones I got from Aldi were very good. Big, juicy, sweet. Much better than most of them I bought last year at Kroger.

They come from the same places that Kraft, Mayfield, Nabisco, etc come from. Most likely the EXACT same places. So, you would probably need to contact Aldi and ask who manufactures their items. Not likely they will tell you but I'd be willing to bet they come from the same factories. Only the packaging is different. Did you know that Eggo products are made in Douglasville? At least I think it is Eggo. It might be Aunt Jemima. I might stop by there tomorrow if I'm not totally exhausted after work tomorrow. Busy, busy, busy. Parking lot was crowded today but didn't l

This is very, very true. In years past, I was an active member of another message board and looked forward to getting on there multiple times a day. They helped me through the rough time with my pre-mature grandsons and some other issues around that time. But, people change. That group is no longer relevant to me, even though some of them were friends on FB. I have since unfriended them because they really and truly are no longer relevant in my life.

That was my biggest complaint about it as well. No rhyme or reason as to placement, much like WallyWorld. However, if you really think about it, it does make some sense to have the Mexican tomatoes with the Mexican food and the Italian tomatoes with the spaghetti and other Italian foods. I was shocked they had the little "Buddy" walker/chairs, canes and some blood pressure and/or oxygen monitors. I need to pick me up a cane that I can leave in my tote bag. Actually, this IS peak season for Florida strawberries which runs from mid-February to mid-March. Californi

You are correct!! You get a HUGE number of e-mails. I can't even begin to imagine how you find time to respond to even half of them. Rare form again, huh?

Here's the deal: if you REQUIRE all national name brands and some premium brands, don't go to Aldi. They carry a few name brand items but not a tremendous number. if you INSIST that all of your shopping is done at one place, where you can buy socks as well as your sockeye tuna, don't go to Aldi because they have a smaller inventory. if you're WILLING to drive 70 miles round trip to buy produce or anything else, don't go to Aldi. if you equate high prices with high quality, don't go to Aldi. if you like saving money, are willing to use "store brands" (which in this case m

my daughter bought some pretzels there that were really, really good. Tasted like the Synders of Hanover.

That was the way it was Thursday as well. NO consideration for others. None.

I forgot about the samples! And you're right, it WAS a zoo on Thursday afternoon. BTW, if you saw a little girl who looked to be 4 or so with a lavender sundress and mostly pink multicolor pants on, that was my granddaughter. I am THRILLED with the new store! I can't wait to go back when it's not so crowded. Unfortunately, considering the lack of choice in places to grocery shop in that area (Walmart yuck and Target too expensive), it may never be less than always packed.

They must take classes in it. And I'm sure there are some who "cheat the system" by following the guidelines. -
I was STUNNED at the number of people in there on Thursday. You couldn't stir them with a stick. BUT, the fact that it was a grand opening and in Hiram was no excuse for the rudeness of some of the customers. If you see that people are trying to get around you, have the courtesy to move your cart and not leave it in the middle of the freakin' aisle while you shop both sides of the aisle!! And you don't have to rudely reach across someone either. OK, vent over. The employees I saw were very, very nice. The cashier was enough to make me want to start using a real live cashier again.

How's It Going For Small Business, In Georgia?
Mama Carol replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Post # 15 illustrates the point very well about voters being ignorant. Do they REALLY think that many jobs were added??? I suspect while 243,000 may have been added, 185,000 were lost and therefore the NET increase is far short of what we are told it is. As for the unemployment rate, there are many people out there who were on unemployment but who have exhausted their benefits. They no longer count in the unemployment rate. But they're still unemployed. And then there are people who don't qualify for unemployment but who are unemployed just the same. They don't count in the rate eith -

And not to be mean, but the average voter doesn't have a clue what the issues are and where their representatives stand on those issues. Face it, the average person thinks getting a tax refund is getting "free money" from the government. Its YOUR money that you loaned to the government INTEREST FREE. -
It must be pointed out that the way these corporations are getting by without paying tax is by setting up their headquarters in more tax friendly countries.

How's It Going For Small Business, In Georgia?

There's a reason those super-mega-huge accounting firms make in the millions. They get PAID to help megacorporations pay as little corporate tax as possible. They use charge-offs and other items to lower their taxable rate. Many, but not all, small businesses are cash-basis taxpayers and can't take advantage of a lot of income lowering strategies that large corporations can. If I'm a small business owner located in, say Florida, more than likely I don't qualify to have offices around the world and to locate my "headquarters" in a country with friendly tax laws. I HAVE to pay taxes where I -

That makes two of us. He has really struggled, both financially and emotionally, since the economy tanked in 2008. He was making GREAT money when housing was booming. He loved his job operating road building equipment and not because the money was good. He had done that since he was old enough to climb on the machinery (his dad owned a paving company). -

Actually, until he lost his job at Huddle House, they WERE supporting them. That is about the time she got pregnant with Dru. When we was working doing paving, they were doing better than me. He was making lots of money. Times were good. And she isn't trying to get the government to support their kids. She is trying to get Medicaid to help pay for their health care. Apply for one insurance and are told you make too much to qualify and apply for another and told you don't make enough. Can't afford to buy health insurance through an employer because they still have to pay bills.
