  1. That's what my friends say about me. Except the big great grandson part. I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!
  2. It generally shows that something is wrong with the house that it would be best not to be seen before you get there to view it in person. Such as the hole in the ceiling in the kitchen, the broken off light fixtures, the holes in the side of the house from the last drive by. If there are few pictures, there's a reason. If you want to sell a house, you make the pictures look as inviting as possible and show the house in the best light possible. Pictures of just the street or just the yard hide a whole heck of a lot of sorry house. When we were looking for a house, I automatically
  3. Always a bad sign when there is only a picture of the front, taken from a distance, and the street.
  4. If the listing was on auction.com, don't believe much they say. About as accurate as Zillow, which is pretty much zero.
  5. We have a bathroom sink on the side of the road not far from here. It's been there for months. Get a bathtub and we can have a bathroom.
  6. Three words explain the increase in price in the "inferior" cuts of meat. Big Green Egg. With BGE having their headquarters in Metro Atlanta, it makes sense that there are lot of them being used. You can take anything, cook it on one of those and have an excellent meal (or a week's worth).
  7. We have been able to pick up pork pretty reasonable in price recently. I got baby back ribs for $3.49 a pound, buy one get one free and these are rather meaty with a half rack being plenty for one person. Great deal! I got a pork shoulder, about 8 1/2 pounds of it, for considerably less than I could have bought a 2 1/2 pound beef roast. We can eat off a pork shoulder for close to a week (we know because we have). I can get bacon for $3.99 a package, usually a 12 oz package but considering it is center cut, that's not a bad deal. When it's "regular" priced, it is $7.99 and usually buy one
  8. I'm delighted that someone has finally come out and called him what I thought he was. Well, sort of. I also think he is also a fear-monger. Of all the people on TV that I dislike, and the list really is short, he and David Letterman tie for the one I dislike the most. Actually, they may be the only two on TV who I dislike.
  9. Their offices in the DC area don't have that area code. At least none of their published office numbers. We always tell clients to call the 1-800-829-1040. In fact, every phone at work has that number written on a piece of paper taped to the phone. We suggest clients not deal with the local office unless absolutely necessary. I've heard two complaints about the local office this year.
  10. They don't have a local office with that area code.
  11. I e-filed mine in early FEBRUARY and I'm still waiting on my refund. That stupid ACA form that even a CPA couldn't figure out is the cause! Even my boss who isn't a drinker said he was going to get drunk the night of April 15 because that ACA form gave him so much stress and anxiety.
  12. Walmart wouldn't pay their employees two months severance pay so why believe the rest of it?
  13. I'm with Mei Lan. I unplugged the news. Rarely watch it and then only watch for the weather, which they rarely got right. I scan the Marietta Daily Journal online, mostly to see the obits. I get our town newspaper twice a week but it's usually wrong and badly outdated. I couldn't be happier. I know the world is going to hell in a handbasket but since there is nothing I can do to change it beyond my immediate area, I don't let it bother me now. Are there more murders, more rapes, more child molestations than there was 30 years ago? Probably no more than the per capita rate bac
  14. Apparently they were supposed to be able to do it, whatever it was. They refused. And not nicely.
  15. What's frustrating is to keep getting mail from a bank/credit union you no longer have an account with and can't get the government agency you're dealing with to do their job. If the SSA was as diligent about staying in contact as the credit union is, I'd not still be trying to get 2007 wages added to my earnings record. That's another call to make after April 15.
  16. That's very true. Been doing taxes for 20 years. Plan to stop when I've done it for 25.
  17. No, because the accounts are closed, there is no online access. See, that's why the credit union here turned me off credit unions. I had been told by someone at GEMC that other credit unions in the same "network" should be able to do anything that they can do. We needed to do something, maybe a wire transfer, and the local credit union said they could not do that because they weren't the same credit union. Well, duh, I knew they weren't GEMC but GEMC told me that the local credit union could do it. I even asked them at GEMC about the local credit union by name and they said yes, they
  18. Might have been stock windows. Replacements have the stickers. Good luck. I think Glassdogs has the right idea.
  19. Definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY call Tina. You can get an extension and then have six months to get that mess taken care of.
  20. The accounts were closed almost two years ago. Even the credit union says they are closed.
  21. You should be able to get a model and/or serial number off the window. There should be a sticker on there that includes the manufacturer name, and then contact them. Do you know who made the window and when it was installed? If you already know that, you have won half the battle. We had windows from Window World in a rental we owned. The seal broke on one or two of them. My daughter and son in law were living in the house at the time and they called Window World who got them a replacement. They had to give them a serial number or a model number that was found on a sticker on the wi
  22. It didn't make sense for us to keep an account there when the closest branch was 350 miles away. Having the money there and us being down here in Florida actually created some problems at times when we were looking for a house. And on the rare occasions we would be up there, our current bank has a nice branch in Hiram (and a lot of other places around the Atlanta area). So, it wasn't a problem moving everything. We really had little left in the credit union. I just want them to stop sending us a statement showing we have a penny in the account. Mail us a penny! click a button and make
  23. That's what I have been thinking about doing. Just may try that. Thanks! This is so frustrating! It's as bad as getting the e-mails every month from the bank we had our business account with saying our monthly statement is ready. We closed that account in 2011!!!!
