    ROAD

I am about sick of hearing how underpaid teachers are. Are teachers not intelligent enough to check the salaries BEFORE they decide on their majors? I think they are.
  2. What administration built the airport?
  3. A mortgage broker could lose their license and probabbly be prosecuted for that. I'm sure it has happened but the appraisers for the state are pretty accurate.
  4. Must have been someone else. I am A.D.D. and dyslexic, so maybe it was LTPP. Or maybe TPPL. Must have been my mistake I'm sure.
  5. I guess everything is relative. If you are the one that is having your property destroyed, it doesn't seems all that expensive. And I am sure the offers are dependent on the project budget. But with all the eminent domain publicity of late, the offers have become a little better than riding roughshod over taxpaying citizens.
  6. Fair market value is a minimum. Recent DOT purchases have been more than FMV. Each case is handled seperately. If a property has a lien, the lien will be satisfied. If the property is worth less than the loan amount, it's like hitting the lottery. The loan will have to be paid by the ED authority. Hello bailout. The loan can not be "cancelled" but it will have to be paid in full. Renters get $2,500 to relocate in eminent domain takings. My guess would be the person living in a house under these circumstances would probably be given the same.
  7. What I find funny is that you knew this and engaged in the argument. Did I say engaged? I meant instigated. Did I say funny? I meant weird.
  8. FMV will depend on the appraisal and the funding. If the project has a fat budget, you will likely see offers of a little better than FMV of the property when the economy was good. The best advice is to get yourself an attorney that specializes in eminent domain law. And if you think you are in the path, I would be looking now.
  9. Gary Gulledge is the the most honorable elected official we have holding office in this county. I really don't understand the thought process of someone that thinks by giving a person "fair market value" everything is okay. Wonder if I offer LPPT fair market value for her car if she would have a problem with me FORCING her to sell it to me for that price?
  10. That's good to know. How many more do you think you could find that would do the same?
  11. Probably not a Paulding company that could handle it.
  12. You act like fair market value is fair. If someone doesn't WANT to sell, then fair market value doesn't really matter, does it? People need to know that condemnation of property through the eminent domain process IS NOT the end of the road. You do not have to settle for the condemning authorities offer (whether fair market value or not). Believe it or not, the citizens of this country are protected from crooked politicians in po-dunk governments like Paulding County by the constitution. BTW, the developers and the politicans in Paulding have always been one in the same.
  13. You mean like the time Jerry Shearin promised everyone that our insurance would go down if we approved the fire tax? I don't know who is the dumber, Shearin or the people that believed him.
  14. All political offices should have term limits. 16 years? Politicians are like diapers, they need changing regulary and for the same reason.
  15. speculation and inside information are two different things.
  16. Yep. Wonder who bought up the East Hiram Parkway? Here a couple of hints: He was a major contributor to Sonny Perdues campaigns. He's also selling most of the dirt needed to build the EHP. What the heck is his name?
  17. Correction NJ. You don't have any rights to any property. You have a right to recieve fair market value for that property, and that's it. Unless you file suit against the county for damages. I'm just glad they are not screwing with me again.
  18. If you ever have a road shoved down your throat, your property destroyed, your family compound divided and destroyed by a bunch of corrupt politicians and developers; you probably won't be peeing yourself over the idea of a new road. Just sayin. But that karma train is (was) a biatch. Guess you do reap what you sew.
  19. That's what I am trying to remember. The Overlook area doesn't seem quite right, because we would have just gone in on West Paces Ferry, but it is possible. Seems like we would go in on Log Cabin Drive.
  20. I agree. Best wings I have ever had. I didn't care for Birdies wings. We're there at least once a week.
  21. Things can get pretty wild when you are not so much "for" one candidate, but "against" another candidate. I can list way more that I am against than I am for.
  22. You know, if you guys would dump Paulette and promise to not support Shearin, I think we line up on most other issues. I mean really, Paulette? And Jerry was certainly pushing to get her in office. I would prefer to see all the cronies split up on both sides of the aisle so they never have the ability to "rubber stamp" their buddies' favorite projects again like back in the Shearin dictatorship. We might become big buddies before it is all said and done. Stranger things have happened. Animal and I became friends during the last election........
  23. Does the neon baby Jebus count?
