NJ, I look at the commissioners as people we hire to run the business of the county. I have guys working for me that I pay to handle their projects. I am not a micro manager unless they ask for my input or if I know they are doing a project they are a little weak in. Tommie has (in my opinion) done what I have expected him to do. He seems to have a short fuse when it comes to sugar coating every word that comes out of his mouth when he is frustrated (reminds me of me). The county business is a business. These guys have held the line on taxes pretty darn good since they took office.

What you're missing is Fair Tax REPLACES income tax. TSPLOST would be another tax added to the fuel tax already allocated for road maintenance and construction. A more fair way of funding transportation might be to make Delta and the other corporations that are receiving corporate welfare exemptions on fuel tax to stop mooching off the citizens and pay their fair share. With our politicians cutting these exemption deals with Delta, I damn sure am not about to volunteer any more of my money.

I don't agree totally but you make a valid point. The problem for me has always been the money wasted or misused. We all know that the former BOC used taxpayer money to enhance the properties of their buddies. After that it will take a while to re-gain the trust of the taxpayers. It COULD make a difference as to the technicalities of the law. But do you really want someone making decisions that effect your life when they are no better at managing their personal business than this? I don't know about you, but I pay my taxes on time every time and I expect no less from someone that gets my vote. A Republican moocher is no different than a Democratic moocher.

I agree. I saw him fight in a Golden Gloves championship. He is also a good guy and pumped a lot of his money into the community. Not real sure why he wanted a huge mansion. I wish him the best.
