depends on the reasons they are failing. If it's because the "sports" have become more important, not enough time to focus on school work, needs more time to study / do homework, then yes. If it's because they just don't get it, and the sports are in no way interferring with school, including sleep, then I'd be more inclined to keep them in the sports. It really depends on the individual situation and child.
