The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to

NOAA scientists cleared in climate email review

i.e. spending billions to reduce man's contribution to CO2 levels won't make a bit of difference in the climate. A total waste of money for a "feel-good" cause. Makes perfect sense. -
Me too, and I experienced many spankings as a child. I can guarantee that I deserved every last one. Being able to see reality assumes that you have a mind open to it. Most liberals dream and think in abstracts and avoid the practicality of their ideas.

Doesn't Algore live in a mansion that is an energy pig? Does he not fly to events in his private jet? If Algore wasn't such a hypocrite, he would be an example of what to do rather than what NOT to do. Algore = lying hypocrite. -
I use a fee based advisor. This means he charges a percentage of the value of my accounts to manage them. He does not get paid to sell me on buying shares or funds. There are many out there. You have to shop around to find someone you trust with your money. Some manage their own funds. Most of us are not experts in this area and have other things to do.

Gov. Deal Says GA Can't Afford to Not Have Prison Reform
AcworthDad replied to zoocrew's topic in Paulding County NEWS
If anything should be a top priority, it should be to keep us safe. Getting tough on criminals is absolutely a priority. As long as that is the purpose, I am fine with it. Let's wait and see. -

Good to know. This man is pleased: Still no conclusive evidence that man's behavior has any influence on climate and that changing that behavior influences current climate. Again, not to say that we should be careless about the environment. Just no purpose in panicking over "global warming" or "climate change" or whatever big Al calls it this go around. -
We sailed out of New Orleans on the NCL Spirit several years ago. We drove and stayed at the Drury near the French Quarter. They had a Park and Cruise special where is you stayed one night, you could park for free during your cruise. It was a great cruise and there were plenty of kids on board. I agree re Carnival and won't sail them. We would love to try Princess and some of the upscale lines but we'll need to save up.

We have done several cruises in February. We were on RCI's Jewel of the Seas last year (Southern Caribbean and Panama Canal) and the weather was beautiful. 80s and 90s - no problem.
-
Our kids are grown up so we choose based on other criteria than kid friendly. You'll find kids on every ship during spring break. I've sailed Carnival once and was not impressed. We prefer Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Norwegian. For kids, I'd choose Royal Caribbean. I have also looked at Disney and you may get a great time for the kids but the prices are very high.

Why Bust One Union, And Let All The Others Fly?
AcworthDad replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The problem with labor unions is that most of them encourage this kind of behavior. They offer no value to the economy and drive up the cost of what goods they produce. -

The objective of the Democrat party is too make government larger and much more powerful than it already is. P-BO is enabling that by spending us into bankruptcy. Thank God for the Republican congress who had better make some heavy cuts or they will be cut as well. -

Why Do So Many People Give Up Their Bargaining Rights?

Good examples of the complete stupidity implemented by unions in far too many cases. Unions have outlived their purpose and usefulness, Now they are simply a drag on the economy. -

Unions are a drain on individual productivity and a huge drain on the economy. They should be abolished. -

Our house has three units that are 14 years old. I hope to get 15+ years out of them and I hope that when they need to be replaced, it is a single system at a time.
