  1. double-check your connecting wires, plug the ipod in and then restart the computer. itunes should pop up after the re-start. be patient...itunes takes time to load.
  2. Saving Grace is not a definate. The original contract with the production company will expire but other companies have already put bids in to buy it. Fingers crossed!!!
  3. In Indiana, when a cop is on the highway slowing everyone down we call them 'pace cars'.
  4. Tip if you're being followed too close: Clean your windshields....especially if you have wipers in the back. Spray the hell out of them and everytime the moron gets closer...do it again. AND- for those that insist on tailgating a motorcycle: you are 1/10 of a second away from possibly killing someone. This includes law enforcement!
  5. Ditto....I grew up in the 'region' near Chicago/Indiana....holy cow the lake effect snow! I remember the weather dude throwing up his hands once and saying 'we could get 1-3 inches, we could get 1-3 feet. I can't help you folks on this one." My friend in Chi-town said they are talking 6 foot drifts in some areas. Wonder if they'll cancel school?
  6. A smaller country would be easier and better for learning...large countries in Asia and Europe have sooooo much information/history it would be hard to narrow it down to 10 pages. Greece has spectacular everything, Norway, Iceland....they may seem like countries that have nothing to offer but that's not true. Good luck! 10 pages might seem like a lot but you'll fly right through it!

    What?

Does the person with the most reds get a toaster?
  8. Not sure what your definition of mental health disability is but I have PTSD and WITH insurance we pay about 20k a year out of pocket. The kicker---I got it from work, went for treatment, and they fired me because of it. Yes, we checked with a top lawyer downtown: right to work state= no recourse. Our biggest issue is that most doctors that really specialize in trauma do not take insurance. The state of GA gives us nothing. It would be better if I was on welfare. There are no PTSD support groups in the area so we have to pay for private groups through private drs. Many many of the pe
  9. FYI--- I have talked to a few other mothers about these programs and we all agreed we'd love to sign our kids up BUT 5pm is impossible to make with school, work and commute. Just a little feedback for future classes.....
  10. THANKS everyone. Most of the stuff has no sentimental value. Weddings rings and the important stuff were taken out but I will be selling the settings without the diamonds. I also have a ton of antique stuff...earrings, broaches, etc. Is there a shop around here that sells these things? I'm not looking for a huge profit..I just know the commissions downtown are much higher than what I can get somewhere else. I've lost my job and this is just stuff sitting around that might help with the mortgage next month.
  11. I have 2 massive bags of jewelry that I inherited when my mom died. I have already taken 2 bags (there were 4 total) to a place downtown that bought my gold BUT their commission was HUGE. I was wondering if there is anyone in our area that I can totally trust with this stuff that won't shaft me? I've seen ads on here but would like any feedback/suggestions. THANKS!
  12. Soooo glad no one was hurt. They really need to do something about the signals around here. Even in Douglasville, by the time the alarm sounds and the gates drop, the trains are already at the intersection. I understand too much warning invites people to go around the gates but the way they have them set up now is just dangerous.!!!

  14. West Georgia has cancelled eve/night classes for Monday Sept 21. Better late than never.
  15. Dr Tina Caudill in downtown Douglasville. Has an EXCELLENT reputation with teens, does work for Douglas Co court/welfare system. 678 232 9078 She helped my friend's son who was in a bad way with depression. They were happy she got him in right away. That was last year so you'll just have to call and see.

    How sweet!

So my son and I are over at Ridge Rd ballpark watching one of their adult softball games tonight. This woman is put in to pinch-run on 1st base. There was this huge pause in the game and all of a sudden the 1st base coach drops to one knee and proposes. She said yes, everyone cried and the next guy up hit a grand slam home run. Total Kodak moment!
  17. If at all possible...eliminate the waitress/waiter completely. If the kids were old enough to be left alone: go to the back or front of the restaurant and quietly ask for the manager on duty. Then explain directly to them what the specific issues are. In your case, food quality. Emphasize the staff you've been in contact with has been good/wonderful/whatever. But deal with the manager on duty. Why? Because even in the 10 seconds it takes to explain to your waitress that you want to see the manager and why...he/she will be flipping out thinking it's their fault. AND...manager's ten
  18. I think most of the programs coming out now are perfect for the average consumer. There are so many variables when it comes to recording, dumping, editing and out putting video that only a professional is going to get a full, by definition HD product. The cameras out today are incredible for their pictures, memory and size. I find not having the option to have an external mic very interesting. That's just a stupid design.!! But again for the average person doing video of their kid pooping himself...probably not needed. Mentioning youtube is a perfect example of not spending a ton of

    BIG BABY!

Stuff that is! Baby and boy stuff......stroller, trucks, cars, clothes, golf clubs, basketball hoop, train table and set, trail a bike. 2 tables FULL of clothes...everything $2. Saturday from 8a-4p...first house in Barrington Chase Subdivision (off of Austin Bridge Rd.)
  20. 3/4 inch cameras....carry the deck on your shoulder...those were the days!!! Not nearly as fun as 1in reels tho! The mini Mac is a good product but really lacks the memory for any significant editing. To edit a good 5 min piece you're looking at almost 30 min of video to dump in so you have a lot of choice. No matter what you're doing or using I suggest external hard drives. For $120 bucks you get 500 of memory and you can dump all your raw and edited video in. I just unplug mine and set it on a shelf. No chance of power surges or losing my stuff. Plug it back in when I need it.
  21. I can teach you. I did video editing for 20 yrs for a major network. PM me Much of what you see is how it was shot....with the different angles and stuff. The reflection shots were probably cropped (like you can do on a still photo). The program you have cannot really do extensive effects such as that. The dissolves, pushes, pulls and blurring are possible with your program tho. There are tons of after market programs you can buy. Pinnacle and Final Cut being the top sellers BUT many are pretty expensive. Like thousands of dollars and if your computer isn't top notch, it won't be

    Hey folks

For all those who feel the CONSTANT need to fly through the stop sign on Austin Bridge Rd (in front of the Heritage), please put a little extra on the pedal tonight: Paulding Co's finest are waiting for you! And to Paulding Co SO....thank you SO much for finally sending out officers. I've seen 4 busted in the last 45 min. Obviously this is a serious problem considering it's a blind stop. Please keep it up so that when the new school opens we don't have to hold our breaths everytime we hit that intersection!
  23. My child LOVED Cheryl and her entire staff last year. Only a parent knows what's best for their child but I will say this: Cheryl has a gift with children and puts nothing in front of their best interests. I think the perfect example of that is making the decision to release her director now rather than trudging through the rest of the summer.
