I disagree....I cannot remember the news skipping any local officer who was lost. I remember news reports in every one from the time of the incident to seeing the news trucks at the funeral.

Ok...what Officer has died in the Atlanta area that has not been given "attention".

If you do not want to give then don't. I guarantee the life insurance and SS minus taxes will not equal the income of the fallen officers while all 4 children get through school and hopefully college.

What we need is the GA legislature to do away with the red tape in the speed detection laws. The officer has to be visible for 500ft if running stationary detection is pointless. Every road has to be surveyed(which can take a long time) before a device can be ran on it is pointless. Someone has to be going 10mph over to even be stopped by an officer using LIDAR or RADAR. They can drive 14mph over and will not even get points on their license if they are given a ticket.....they can drive 19 over and only receive 2 points. Make it hurt and they will stop. I think yesterday was a great time to stop speeders given the fact that it was Halloween with kids out walking up and down the street after dark.

Not true. How do you even start to speculate as to a specific Deputies assignment when you have nothing to base it on. He very well may be on a traffic unit and not patrol.

Explain the history and how it acted when you tried to run it off. If the dog was aggressive and you were in fear then you can legally protect yourself and your property with the weapon you brought for protection since you know the history.

If I have a dog that is on my property and it is being aggressive towards me, my family or my pets it will be shot. It is my property and I do not have to run inside. I will end the threat. Now if it is a non aggressive dog which is lost or a stray a call to AC is in order.

Many mental health programs have workers who respond to the home to deal with ongoing outpatient issues and possibly hotline issues. If they determine the person is a threat they have the authority to involuntarily admit the patient. Sounds like they had problems and need law enforcement to step in.

Well...the "good stuff" you mentioned was not the chase itself but the search for the Deputy who was chasing someone on foot by himself. The chase and assistance call was put out only after 911 received a call from a passerby and were unable to contact that Deputy. Sounds as if his portable radio did not work at all near the center of the county. It took other officers forever to find him because he could not communicate. Good stuff to someone listening....sheer terror if you are the one stranded.

If the county does not invest money to fix this radio system one of our officers is going to get hurt badly. Pathetic. If the people we have now cannot fix it then replace them with someone who can.

Curfew for juveniles is midnight.

Unfounded includes when the police can prove a crime was not committed....those crimes are then taken away from the national numbers. Unless the "victim" recants their story the police will not unfound the case...it is ex-cleared or moved inactive. Nope...I was only responding the the person I quoted who said "the victim probably knows the person". Everyone else spun it into this as they gave out their prayers and thoughts for this unidentified person over a 5 second scanner transmission.
