  1. Congratulations Subby and Chell and I hope everything goes well tomorrow and that you have a beautiful, memorable ceremony! I wish you many, many more happy, healthy years together!
  2. I am so sorry Jason, Angie, Howard and all - I know this child was loved dearly and will be missed by so many. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.
  3. Great post! And you are right, there is not a snowball's chance in h... that if my children were molested, I would accept a "cash settlement" or anything else for that matter as opposed to taking the accused to trial and having him / her punished to the fullest extent of the law should the jury find them guilty. Money can't take it away no matter how hard you try.
  4. What an accomplishment! Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to your parents!
  5. I believe that might have been a prior out of court settlement by a prior accuser in 1994 - I could be wrong. I thought I remembered that he was found not guilty on all charges by a jury in 2005 or 2006. Maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, child molestors are the "lowest of the low" in my opinion.
  6. I could be wrong but wasn't he "acquitted" of child molestation charges? And before you say anything, I am of the opinion that child molestors and sexual predators are among the "lowest" scum of all scum on the face of the earth. If he was acquitted and the best I remember, he was, that certainly doesn't mean he wasn't guilty and I do realize that guilty people are set free each and every day due to various reasons including insufficient evidence, etc. I truly don't know if he was guilty or not because I wasn't there....
  7. I can only speak for myself but I haven't really noticed anyone "putting him on a pedestal" - I simply see them "appreciating his talent". I certainly do not by any stretch of the imagination condone some of the things he has done in the past; however, I do think he was a wonderful entertainer and very talented. I am in MJ"s age range and for the ones like us, he provided many, many happy memories from childhood with his music. I remember dancing around our living room with my parents and siblings to the song "Rockin Robin" - great times and great memories! I personally don't put an
  8. I agree on all your above points! It is very sad and you know, I get the feeling that he was just a very sad, yet very talented, person. Gosh the memories of my very young years and listening to Michael Jackson (Ben, Rockin Robin, etc., etc., etc.).
  9. I very much agree with you. I just called and spoke with her husband just a second ago and she is doing fine except for some cuts and bruising - this is truly one of those cases in which seatbelts saved a life. The outcome would not have been as good had she been ejected from the vehicle. I am going to call the Georgia State Patrol who worked the accident in the morning and see if I can get the soldier's name and do everything I can to make sure his CO knows about this as well as the local newspapers.
  10. Those are wonderful ideas - I have her husband's cell number in my cell phone from where I called him from the accident scene for her. I will call him and make sure he knows this and see if he can get the name of the solider from the accident report. Thanks - great ideas and I agree that he most certainy needs to be recognized.
  11. I know that another one of the witnesses has this guy's name and phone number as he had to go ahead and leave to get to the airport. I will see if I can find out his name as I truly believe that one of the newspapers needs to do a story on this. I just can't quit thinking about how hard he worked getting her out of the car.
  12. Okay, so I'm minding my own business on the way home from my Cartersville office today and had a horrible car accident happen right in front of my eyes. On Highway 41 South just outside of Cartersville, a woman in a Ford Explorer had a blowout, ran off the shoulder of the road, struggled to keep the vehicle in the road, and then flipped a couple of times across the highway and ended up rolled over on the driver's side. She was trapped and couldn't get out and a guy came up and after just about 5 minutes, he was able to get her out of the vehicle and to safety prior to emergency personnel ar
  13. I think that is an excellent idea and would make such good, common sense.
  14. Exactly - you have made some very good points. I believe the VA Hospital is an excellent comparison to government run healthcare and that is not impressive to say the least. There have been recent stories about the VA Hospital and the use of unsanitary surgical instruments that have resulted in several people contracting several diseases. If our wonderful veterans aren't receiving adequate healthcare (which they very much deserve by the way), then what makes us think the rest of us will with government run healthcare?
  15. What a wonderful tribute to Scott -you and Scott both are very fortunate to have each other. I already knew you are a wonderful person Shawna and it was good to get the time to get to know Scott when we were all at a tailgate party before a Braves game a couple of years ago. I remember thinking then that you two were perfect together and a wonderful couple. I hope Scott had a very Happy Father's Day!
  16. That is absolutely beautiful and what a great thing to do for your husband!
  17. Thoughts and prayers for this family. RIP Sailor and thank you for your service!
  18. I am so very sorry. Sending thougts and prayers your way for you and your entire family in the loss of your loved one and for one of America's heroes!
  19. Thanks Praise Thee for starting this thread. My father passed away at the age of 27 and when I was 10 months old. Obviously, I don't remember him but I do love to visit my hometown and hear people tell stories about what a wonderful man he was. I was blessed though to have my mother remarry and have had a wonderful step-father for over 40 years who I love very much. I hope all you fathers out there have a very Happy Father's Day. Special thoughts and prayers also go out to the fathers who are serving in the military and are unable to spend this day with their family and to everyone w
  20. Best post of the entire night! What are you having?
  21. I didn't say that I don't know who Bill Shipp, Matt Towery and Dick Petty are as I do know who they are. I SAID I had never heard of Gary Reese. Good grief..................
  22. That is simply your opinion just like I stated it was my opinion as to the slander - last I heard, neither of us have a law degree so I guess we should both just leave stuff like that to attorneys and judges. P. S. I am quite aware of the definitions of slander and libel Pubby. Sometimes it is possible to do both you know - I'll leave it up to you to figure that one out.
  23. Sorry Pubby but that was pretty lame. Someone (who I personally have never heard of) stating that he THINKS the FBI is investigating some sort of wrongdoing on land deals - when you get some information with any substance other than speculation, get back with us, okay?
