  1. Since it's friends with Pubby and all the mods, I think it's safe to say that stroke, intoxication, or just plain boredom - there is no imminent danger here folks.
  2. Willie, had you dressed up like him, there'd be some problems!
  3. OK, they've gone overboard. Courtney dresses like a schoolgirl, of some sort, which is creepy in itself with a 51 year old husband...but, then he dresses like HER?
  4. While I do take the allotted tax write-offs, I assure you that I pay my fair share into the system and last year I got a $200 refund, by design. I try to break even, as every tax payer should. I'm not really sure that I understand, but are you saying that a mortgage write off is a "loophole"? The government cannot stimulate jobs, the private sector needs to stimulate jobs. In some ways, the Occupiers are helping to keep folks employed (police, janitorial, etc), but I don't really like my tax dollars for police to be spent keeping a bunch of unruly hippies from pissing in a public park. The
  5. You're thinking of a different CVS. That's off Austell. This CVS is new and it's on Hicks road. Station 7, mmm mmm good. I love living so close to a fire station!
  6. College tuition is astronomical, but college is a choice and I've known plenty of people that go through college and pay for it themselves. They live off raman noodles and do not take out credit cards or go drinking every night. They work hard to get loans and grants and help them. There are A LOT of private grant programs, but you do have to work for them. Further, you are aware that these programs have the same pay back terms as a mortgage, and if Obama gets his way, you'll even get forgiven after 20 years. IMO, parents need to PLAN for the children that they're having and set up funds
  7. I hate it when people scope out my house for robbing. I'm always like, you aint selling crap...you just wanted to see if someone was home so you would know if you and your friends can back up the truck tomorrow.
  8. They all want socialism, yet they won't feed another. How do they think socialism works?
  9. I'm really wondering about these hippies lobbying for the 99%, which when added to the top 1% equals 100% of the population, right? Well, apparently the homeless aren't allowed to be part of the 99%, they're not part of the top 1%, so someone's math is off or the movement is just furthering proving that it's comprised of lazy gits. The irony is oozing. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/zuccotti_hell_kitchen_i5biNyYYhpa8MSYIL9xSDL#.Tql42yA84TE.facebook The Occupy Wall Street volunteer kitchen staff launched a “counter” revolution yesterday -- because they’re angry about work
  10. OH WOW!! That was neat! I used to live a block off Fredrica on Drewry Street. Wow, that was neat to see!
  11. Don't forget shooting the pumpkins from Halloween! NC, you and Cletus doing the trashcan turkey again? Are we invited?
  12. My builder had to fight the county to get my city zoned as Marietta and not Austell. Austell is a crap hole and just getting worse. There are some pockets that are okay, but they're declining fast. Like I said, I remember when Nickajack would set you back a few hundred grand.
  13. When I moved here, 5 years ago, we were set to redistrict schools and the area next to me was set to become a live/work/boutique community. The bottom fell out and the builders are selling the land. Not to mention, I've had to resort to private school, as my son will not go to Russell or Mableton. And yes, you're right, I've already said that I was an idiot home buyer that bought the "revitalization" area hook line and sinker.
  14. Agreed. I'll take the prize for being an idiot home buyer, because I certainly bought high and with all "promises" that came with it.
  15. Surprisingly, that shopping center seems to be the one doing the best (NB is my facial and waxing salon), but cross over to where the Starbucks is on Atlanta road and the shops turn over every 6 months. With the exception of a couple of stable bars and a pizza place, I never know what I'm going to get when I venture over there. The shopping center you speak of has surprisingly scarce retail, however. Most of the places in there are professional services (sales, realtors, etc), I think that's why they are still doing well.
  16. That's what Austell is for!! Proper Austell. I remember when Nickajack Road was a NICE place to live, but we gave them there...and of course, Veteran's Memorial - though, I have seen crime increase over in these parts since they tore down Bankhead Courts.
  17. I've been around the Vinings area living and working for nearly 10 years. It's absolutely disappointing. There was a time I would have said that I felt absolutely safe on the SCT in this area - these days? No way. What was once planned to be boutiques and nice restaurants has lost all the investment and the only thing that seems to be coming to this neighborhood is liquor stores and low rent grocers. The Vinings proper (the $1M plus area) is still pristine, but the outlying areas has been hit really hard.
  18. I'm on a personal mission to find this guy. If I see that sneaker and white watch combo, I'm making a citizen's arrest.
  19. I live in a brand new home in a lovely subdivision...and this happens within walking distance. And to think, we were supposed to be considered "Vinings". I'm buying a gun. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/police-woman-leaving-cvs-raped/nFM6K/ COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County police are looking for a man who robbed and raped a woman leaving a CVS drugstore in Austell early Tuesday. The attack happened on the 800 East-West Connector around 1:30 a.m. Police said a woman had just left the CVS when an armed man forced her into her car and asked her to drive. After raping her,
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVTqhyjsU7U I can only imagine how much time he puts into this programming.
  21. The War on Drugs is a farce that has cost our taxpayers billions and has done NOTHING to stop drug use in our country. This was a hassle, and I would seriously consider buying something that didn't enter me into a drug database. Therefore, I believe that it's an infringement on me as a consumer and on the manufacturer's ability to make profit. That should scare every American in this country.
