  1. I LOVE shoes, but I'm so hard on them, and I like them so much, that I simply can't spend that. I have 3 pairs of boots that I have spent a few hundred on...but that's the extent. I do tend to stick with brands I know will give me life, like Nine West - but I will certainly buy that totally cute pair that only goes with the one dress that I wear twice a year at the cheapy place in the mall!
  2. To point out that a lot of people are nothing more than posers! They like to judge the few for spending money on a handbag, when they spend money on a look-a-like... I wanted someone to tell me what the difference is, besides what they spend, at the end of the day? Don't both people achieve the same end result? So, why so judgmental of those that will pay more? As if these people are some how evil for not taking a deal when they saw it. Hope this clears it up! Have a blessed day!
  3. Aren't you glad to know that if a zipper breaks, you'll just have to pay a s/h fee to have it fixed? I mean, loving it so much - isn't great to know that you'll have it forever?
  4. Neo-hippie scene. I spent several years following a rock band around the country...70 shows (and countless other bands), I've seen a lot of people be very rude to people that chose to own material possessions. If you remember correctly, this was one of the reasons for the Manson Family to go after the Tate family. In any case, when someone judges another for what they have, it's as bad as judging another for what they don't have. Who is anyone to judge? Who is anyone to apologize? And that is why the class system will always exist in our culture.
  5. This is SUCH a true statement. When I was very active in the hippie scene, hippies were SO MUCH more judging of those 'with money' or those 'with things'. My hippie friends would automatically dub you a "trustafararian" or a "spoiled yuppie" based on what you drove! The rich are definitely judged and held in contempt more often...honestly - it's nothing more than reverse discrimination.
  6. I'm going up for work next week - kicking around extending my stay. Is it worth trying to see some things over a weekend, or a place that needs more time to cover?
  7. Depends. If she was the catalyst to career achievements, especially if she has foregone a career herself, she certainly deserves something. For alimony, it's a business partnership. There is A LOT to being a corporate/political wife. There's a lot to being ANY wife, but I would say that it is a JOB to facilitate someone that has big career aspirations.
  8. Bad knock off vs. good ones! Ahhh...I thought that NYC would have the best knock offs, turns out they were the first of the crack down and now you can hardly find knock offs on the street, if you do - they're like the picture that I posted. In Rome, they sell them in the subways. The guys move often...walking down the street with 10 or less handbags. Looks good, still costs $50 EURO. I guess I was just trying to understand how people justify buying a knock off and then turn around and criticize people that spend money on the real ones -- as if they're somehow smarter for buying a lesser
  9. Straight up fugly...But, a legal replica none the less. I got .25 on it...
  10. Simple mathmatics...how much is a purse? $20, $30? How often do you replace it? I'm guessing that you have your personal favorite self indulgence, we all do...
  11. This is why I purchase designer as well...it's not a jonses thing. I do not buy (well, I have two, both gifts) the purses with the logos on them. I like that I can, literally, count on having it - and looking great due to the manufacturer programs - forever.
  12. Amen! there were some frightening storms last night!
  13. I've heard the term "set up" being used in the case of the pcom member that sold replica handbags. To me, set up would imply that someone planted these purses in their store and then turned them in. I think it was more of an exposure thing...when you put your goods, clearly visible with the word "Coach" on them (pubby has a very clear illustration of the their posted ad on pcom in his news report), you're then showing a lot more people than your storefront can reach. Of course, this was the intent -- to sell their goods, which apparently they truly believed were lawful. My question is thi
  14. Triumph goes to Bonnaroo! http://www.hulu.com/watch/78867/the-tonigh...bonnaroo-part-1 http://www.hulu.com/watch/78861/the-tonigh...bonnaroo-part-2
  15. So I wanted to update after having it for a few weeks now...it's got some things that are not so great. You can't put it on your shoulder - so you HAVE to use an ear set if you want to have any kind of handsfree. The ringer is very low - if you're in a loud setting like a bar or party, you're not going to hear it. The other thing is that the slick design often gets very finger printy. And finally, because it opens and closes, you kinda would expect that when you close the phone it would disconnect the call that you're on. It doesn't. You have to hit the end button. All
  16. PLEASE go to D Geller and Sons. I have a friend that is on their management staff, he's awesome and none of their sales folks make commission, so there's no pressure. They have the BEST pricing on diamonds, service is top notch and if they don't have it, they will get it. The best thing about it is whether you're looking for .30ct or 3cts, you'll be treated the same. PM me if you'd like my friend's name and number. I can't say enough great things about their staff!
  17. Sprint offered to put a trace on my phone to give to the police - you might wan to look into that. I declined since this person isn't harassing me, just being a stubborn pain. Obviously, simply removing the number would prevent accidentally calling. But, since some people thrive on being difficult, sometimes we have to find work arounds! I certainly wouldn't change my number; I've had the same number forever.
  18. Thanks GD, this doesn't work on wireless. FYI, there's no way for Sprint to block, but I did find something on the internet that suggested setting a blank ringtone. Won't stop them from calling, but at least it won't wake me up! I would have never thought of that!
  19. I have someone that is accidentally calling my cell phone late at night. I requested that the person remove my number from their phone, but they're uncooperative. Is it possible to block it at the cell phone or cell company level? I wouldn't normally care and just hit end, but they happen late so I'm usually sleeping and they wake me. eta: I'm with Sprint.
  20. Macy's is having their one day sale (which they have often), but this one is really good! 40-70% off clothes, 25% of shoes and all summer dresses are $39.99 or less. They even have discounts on some on some of their D&B bags. Might be a good time to get a jump on holiday shopping! And remember, *if* you're out of state or have a guest in town, they can get an 11% off coupon at the jewelry counter with their out of state ID.
  21. Today has been a great day! DBF will be here in 6 hours, so excited! I got his bday present cleared off my to-do list, house is clean, don't need to worry about dinner, and I just looked down and saw that it was already 3pm! Today is a good day, I sure hope y'all are having a great day too!
