  1. This is such a great movie!! It will get you talking about your relationship with your partner on new levels!!
  2. Well, you're doing the Friday thing -- we were looking at a Saturday. The prices are fixed for 2010 at $3,800 for Saturdays. If you search my posts, you'll see where I posted about it a few weeks ago
  3. We looked at this place...actually posted about it on here! LOL! At almost $4000 for the venue, we decided against it. Cool idea, especially for younger people. It was recently featured on MTV's Sweet16. Side note: I've been going to Paris on Ponce before they had a venue...they used to have such great antiques and when we were there a couple of weeks ago, it seemed like all they carry is junk now?? What in the heck happened? My first apartment had all kinds of uncovered gems from that place. PoP and then to Eats for lunch! Ahhh, the days of living in the city!
  4. We've made it a bit of a joke in our house...snuggies, sham wows, pedieggs...I've never used them, but we own them. Well the snuggie I do use!
  5. Yeah...boutique hoels are better than resorts.
  6. Why? Where was it? We haven't done an all inclusive resort...thought we do buy the all inclusive packages if they're offered. They just take it off your room charges.
  7. I just booked a trip to cancun at an all inclusive, do you still tip even though it says "gratuities included"? Also, are the snorkle trips worth the all day excursion? Its been 10 years since I've been there...
  8. Had the same thing. My neighbor did it...so far so good. No deductible. I decided not to do it just in case I was really in *need* of my insurance.
  9. Smart cars are the standard in Europe...so, with that said, there's much less risk involved in driving one. It's like everyone riding around in golf carts, you do not ever see a truck - even the tour vans only fit 6 and they're very compact. However, here, I would say that it would be far less safe to drive something so small. From all that I've seen in my limited travel abroad, south and north of the border, driving the massing half ton cars is an American thing -- which is probably why Smart won't (and isn't trying) to make a splash in the US.
  10. Wow! Well, our blessings are such that we will definitely give while we're there. I can't wait to go home and talk to DBF about all of this! He's picking up the little one from school and we're going to dinner. Might be a great way to continue to teach my son about the importance of making a difference...when you do, the blessings come to you ten fold and I'm living proof!
  11. Semantics, sorry poor choice of words. I still feel a little guilty that I will be isolating myself from extreme poverty just blocks from my hotel.
  12. I'm currently looking for volunteer opportunities and mission trips to the area. Please PM if you know of any.
  13. No really. I doubt that much, if any, will trickle to the children living in the slums. Truth is that 60% of the population lives in poverty. "it does no good to feel guilty", but it does if it leads to action.
  14. It makes me want to cancel my trip and write a check instead.
  15. Really, Shan, read this: http://www.ronmeinsler.com/cantina/?p=344
  16. It pains me to say this, but I just learned (today) about the extent of poverty in Mexico. I always knew that it was poorer (I've been there), but I thought that some of it was also a cultural preservation...much like Native Americans that choose to remain in teepees. I have thought so many things, especially about lots of them living in a single house, but someone once said that it was so that they could send their money to their families - which could likely mean that their wages here support generations. Not to mention, the IMF and World Bank are only perpetuating the problem. And if
  17. I just want to give a big HELL YEAH for fotogirl! I did a shoot with her and it was amazing! She made me so comfortable and produced great pictures in less than a week! Ladies get this NOW...she won't be this cheap forever! And I don't think that I will ever be able to give dbf a better gift!!!!
  18. Actually, HIV is a chronic disease and shares the same classification as diabetes. So, while a new strain, in Africa, is scary, I'd say that the new bacon cheddar super burger from Hardees should be more terrifying to all of us...
  19. Ummmm, fastest growing population contracting HIV is african american, HETEROSEXUAL, woman. I believe it's something like 30% of new infections are linked to a homosexual lifestyle. Our blood supply is in danger from plain ole', man and women sex without a condom.
  20. Is this the place next store to the tattoo parlor? Across from Taco Mac?
  21. I can watch all 6 seasons of sex in the city With a nice buzz While eating nothing but pudding
  22. Right now just glover in the square...they are petitioning thers
  23. More to come! As a ver frequent visitor of the square, I will say that I rarely see folks smoke there. Wonder how the festivals will work?
