  1. We're in South Paulding. I think some one might be doing some building. We heard some nail gun noise. It could've been a .22 but whatever.
  2. Ah yes, but your first paragraph is about people who have worked up from the minimum wage. I do not think that is what the "living wage" advocates are taking about. I started my working career at 16. Did I deserve to make what I was making before I retired at that time? I also had a son at 17, funny thing is it wasn't a badge of honor to do that. We did the right thing, we got married, and did our best to take care of us. We never got any help from the gooberment. We were told your married. You can't have any help. I didn't know you had to lie to get the hand out. We struggled, we WORKED
  3. Again, how much is a "living wage?" Is it enough to live in a 1 bedroom apt? Is it enough to live in the city? What if I want to live in a 2 bedroom apt.? What if I want to live in the country? Should a 20 something make the same as a 30 something? Should a person with no experience make the same amount as someone with much more experience? Exactly what is a living wage? It cost less to live in the South, then in the North. Hell the cost of living can be drastically different in different parts of the same state. Why do people work in Atlanta, and live in Paulding? I know that logic is no
  4. It went to NC. My cousin said that it's iced up, and shut down in Burlington.
  5. Dean Martin, Richared Harris, Lorne Green. I do wonder how they found the horses that were tall enough for JW.
  6. We had 2 roller rinks back home, they both had acrylic floors. I had a pair of street skates (they had metal wheels) that weren't allowed, so I always had to rent theirs. Anyway I think a hardwood floor is almost as hard as the acrylic. The last time I went skating was during last summer. It reminded me why I always had great legs. I must do this more often.
  7. I can not belive no one has posted Whip-it for me it was that, and anything from ABBA, and The Bee Gees. Yep, I'm old too. Who wants to go skating
  8. Some parents don't care, others pawn them off on some boarding school, then get all snobby. I'm having a difficult time with 13yr old not having any critical thinking skills. You know if there is red ink on my paper, mom is going to go off. Maybe I should study, and get the answers correct, so mom won't be ticked.
  9. How did this meeting go? I wanted to be there, unfortunately my human child (the less furry one) needed wrestling stuff finished up.
  10. What ever, you can call it a freaking flower, it doesn't change the FACT that it is NOT a "drug." Do you consider marijuana a drug? If you can't control your self then don't drink it. Personally I don't drink, except for a glass of wine at Christmas. If the rink serves beer, then they do. Whatever. Yes, even at almost 50 I still roller skate. And, I will take my 13yr old with me.
  11. This is getting so freaking stupid. No, freaking wonder kids have no common sense any more.
  12. Still not a "drug," not arguing.
  13. Much more then one would think. I love poly kitties. Did you know it is an inherited trait? Hemingway had a couple. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/23/us/cats-at-hemingway-museum-draw-a-legal-battle.html?_r=0
  14. Shoot there was a time when mouthwash had alcohol in it.
  15. Look into Youth Challenge. It's a great program. He can get both a high school diploma, and a GED. At 17 he may just be over school. He can get done with school, and be own his way. Yes, he can still go to college if he wants. http://www.ngycp.org/site/state/gafg/
  16. It's called alcoholism. It just happens that wine was her drink of choice. Just insert coke-a-cola. It's the same thing. It's not a drug. It's just like I know that Rum (preferably Bacardi,) and Vodka are not good drinks for me. She has an addiction issues. I smoke cigarettes, I have an addiction. Some folks have an addiction to exercise, food, you name it. Does it make those things drugs? Either way it's not a drug. And, your really stretching it.
  17. Could you please explain how wine is a drug? It has been around for eons. Heck it's even blessed in the Bible. I think I have found the elusive Baptist that is about no drinking, no dancin, women folk wear you dresses up to your neck and down to your feet. They do exist.
  18. I find Duck Dynasty funny. I have two sons, and two stepsons. I also have 4 brothers. The antics of the brothers remind me of all the boys.
  19. 1. Why? 2. Nevermind 3. I'll take Star Trek Generations.
  20. Well damn, I guess a lot of us were mistaken. I was told that this was the place to come to find out the who/what/where of Paulding County. Now your telling me that this board is not even made up of real local folks. Dang how disappointing is that? I reckon I'll just have to get my info from the people who actually live locally from some where else.
  21. Heck yeah!!!!! I am so ready for some Patriot Football!!
  22. Ah, don't worry bout living to your 100's the nursing homes are scaring the folks into signing DNR's. It'll be so much cheaper then letting the folks live a few more years after all. Wait, you have all these folks living to be 100, but you also have all these youngins that will be.......oh never mind, some folks want to kill the next generation before they are even born.
  23. Really??? Seems like the censuses must be wrong then. All of the ones I've seen, have the majority of the folks living way pass 60 years of age. These would be the American censuses. Yes, the ones for the past 200 years.
