Don't worry I'm sure they'll go overboard. Now the idiots who went to work anyways or didn't leave when they should have will probably do the same thing, and most likely blame the gooberment for their bad decisions like they did the last time.

I'm understanding exactly what your saying, and I agree. However as I was told last year when I stated that the kids need to be taught much more then what they are taught (especially in history) "well that's not important, it's only trivia information." Basically understanding why isn't important. Just that it is. I also love when my teacher friends (and I have a few) say the exact same thing. We don't assign homework because some kids don't have any one to help them. Parents don't come to conferences, help in the schools, answer email, etc. Our kids are being shortchanged, and not prepare

True, and allegedly every student doesn't have a smart phone. My son would be one, although we will be remedying that on Mon. The books would also help parents to be able to hep their students, especially when they are struggling.

Yes, you can. I know that all of my friends, and I value education in the classroom, and in everyday life.

I understand that. However if parents have no clue what is being taught, how are the parents supposed to help the student with projects, and if there is homework (which apparently isn't assigned unless the student didn't finish classwork.) Also what is the parent to do when the student states "well Mr.X said ______________. How with out knowing the source of the statement does a parent help the student become the thinking individual that is good for society?

Y'all know that this isn't just a Paulding Co. thing right??? My sister says the same thing about South Carolina, and my family in Florida says they don't have textbook either. This year I did ask for the name of the textbooks that the teachers were teaching out of. I have downloaded the ones that have an e-book, and have the CD for my sons geography class.

Annnnnnd, yet PCHS has the magnet school..... hmm My son goes there, and we haven't had any issues. However it would be nice if the IT department at the board would have the school web pages updated, and the parent portal ready to be used at the beginning of the school year. As far as the system in general, after having children in dekalb, and cobb co schools, it's about the same as cobb, and much better then dekalb. Our school system is also much better then the Palm Beach Co. school system as well.

I for one am very proud to be a redneck. I do/did work very hard for my money. The term redneck was given to the men who worked in the fields. They kept their hair short due to the heat, and their necks would get sunburned, hence redneck. DUH That honey boo boo family is what my family would call white trash.
