The same thing happened to me. We held it together through the first Thanksgiving. I thought I had it together as Christmas approached, it was her favorite holiday and she always went way over board. I walked into Ingles and by the door there were packages of fudge, I lost it, had to leave the store. My heart goes out to LR and everyone dealing with loss as holidays approach.

The anniversary of my mother's passing was the 10th for some reason I think of her almost every day this time of year. She was in one of my dreams last night, it seems normal now for her to be in them.

I HATE THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD AND YOU REPEATING THAT OVER AND OVER. HE HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN TO BE DIRTY, IT IS ONLY YOUR OPINION! Where are the open records that prove he has done something illegal or lined his own pockets. You need to stop talking about something you have no proof of.

Yes it does, Whitey never saw a tax he liked. I understand that people dread Paulding turning into Cobb. I hardly ever leave the county because I hate the congestion. We were simply hit so hard by the housing bubble we don't have much choice. Our families need some relief from the cost of gas and child care. Our home values are horribly low and it is killing our revenue. They have no choice but to turn to the already overburdened tax payer. I believe in business a lot more than government. Bringing in industry is the right thing to do. If propeller is not sticking to the small comme

Should I poll the unemployed ones? Maybe the small businesses. I am not afraid to do it but It really depends on who you ask the answers you will get. I will see what Pubby comes up with then poll my neighborhood. I know a lot of small business owners and I will poll them. Not that anyone really cares about small business from what I can tell.

I thought you could not find any details about propeller are you going to share with us? I am not defending Blake and never will. He was not elected by the people and he is the most powerful person in this county and it does not sit well with me.

Are you referring to Dave Carmicheal. I have no idea how long he served on it. If he served after the creation it does not count. If he has been on it since day one I stand corrected. As you know I am not all that picky when it comes to this issue, I live in the present. I know many of you think you can elect officials to do your bidding I have my doubts. I don't like accusations of these people lining their own pockets without proof. Some folks will just take others word and that will be it. I know what the other side wants and I can tell you it's going to make me stinkin mad when it

You tell me which commissioner held an elected position during the initial decision to build this airport and I will stop insisting that this commission had no say in it existing today. It came with the package when they were elected. You don't speak for all the people of this county, nor were you elected to speak for the people of this county. All the people in your personal circle may be anti-airport but your circle is not close to 140.000 people. How much is someone paying you to stop the airport from being successful? Do you work for Delta by any chance?

It will take me a few days to contact some people. We also had a recession in the middle of planning the airport. I take all things into consideration. What I do know is that it is not taking in the money it needs to. Something has to happen out there. We approached this company from what I understand, they did not especially come looking for us. I know that the airport authority has been looking for a couple of years to get industry to the airport so it pays for itself. I hope it is a good company and helps with manufacturing growth and good jobs for our people.

Here is a website that has some good information on it. I learned some things I did not know especially about the past when it comes to our airport. http://www.aviationpros.com/article/10371145/from-the-ground-up

That is what I am going to try and get, like I said I was told some of that verbally. There is no reason for Economic Development, the IBA, or Airport Authority not to give me that information to publish. This is something I have already discussed with some. I hope that we can move forward and build confidence in the public for this venture. There are amends to be made on how this had to be done. I am pretty confident that the CEO of Propeller would like to see that done. I can say this when you reach out to communicate to anyone in authority in the county and you start of on the attac

If you want a bio on this company I will get one and publish it here. I will work on getting an interview and if I get it, I will let everyone post questions they want answered about the company. Give me time to make some phone calls. I was verbally given a short bio but my memory issues are one of the reasons I am not working for p.com full time anymore.

My point is that none of those people had any part in the building of that airport. That is why I don't understand them being attacked for efforts to make it pay off. Not a single one of those men held a political office before now. The had zero, zip, nadda to do with it being built. People want to hold them responsible for shoving an airport down their throat, something this commission did not do. How much clearer can it be?

Dave resigned from the airport authority when he ran for commission.

For the same reason large manufacturing plants will not come in here and pay for sewer, roads, and power to their facilities. It is an exchange for well paying jobs. Of course we did the same for the 278 corridor and got thousands of minimum wage jobs for our investment. Who cares we got chain stores and restaurants out of the deal.

I believe through taxes. I think there is a tax for every plane registered in the county so depending on how many planes are registered in this county we will see income. I think it is the same for any hangers or shops out there. Many companies look at who is developing and moving into your area when considering moving there. My understanding is that this company is very well respected in aviation industry, if they see benefit in investing here other companies will follow.

So it can't be successful according to the study, then those that fear heavy commercial traffic have nothing to worry about. Secondly the airport is there, no matter how it got there it is real and it is the responsibility of the airport authority to make it at least profitable enough that the taxpayers can get out from under the cost of maintaining it. What I want to know is what exactly is acceptable to the folks that are against the airport. Not what is acceptable to you but all of them. Why don't you poll your group and see where they stand on it. They feel that they should be making

My understanding is that the goal is manufacturing out there. As you said it is hard to imagine thousands of people driving in there on a daily basis to fly other destinations. I think we are going to see a new trend in air travel. Delta will basically do the bulk of the non-stop flights from major cities. The smaller carriers and planes will become the equivalent of Grey Hound buses hitting the smaller airports in certain regions. I saw this with Northwest that took over Airtran, there are little or no non-stop flights to airports that do not have a lot of daily travel. I think they are

I am glad you got up there and ask the question before the rumors got any worse. It needed to be ask. I may be fine with the airport expansion and even how the deal was done, but I am never on board with petty politics. I happen to like Todd, we have talked about many issues, some we agree and some we don't. I know I can go to him with a question and get an honest answer. Todd is for total transparency and that is fine. I think it is time for another town hall meeting and clearing the air. Hopefully we can get the CEO of Propeller and the airport authority to attend. I don

I think you need to do some more research instead of what is handed to you. If I am not mistakes you are on the record as anti-progress. You have every right to that and I have the right to be the opposite. Please take video of those jets passing over your house so I can see if they are any louder than what passes over mine from the Cartersville airport multiple times a day. I simply have no problem with any of it.

One is a mayor who absolutely understands economic development and Ms. Wright being president of the chamber might know a few things about business. Who you gonna put on it, the residents that live around it? They would be ordering explosives in short order. Come on.

Funny that paying a bunch of county workers is never a risk. Trying to bring outside money is too much of a risk. So what we own it, we can sell it for something else if it fails. I would rather take risk than sitting around crying about it never getting better. Again we are doing it like a business rather than a government hiring and caring for someone until they go to their grave. We can fire those contractors tomorrow. You ever try to sell a courthouse or fire a judge? Big difference, just remember who is behind all the negativity.

Not so sure, folks are always saying a certain segment of the population should not have the right to vote. The board is supposed to be made up of people that understand airports, that understand economic development and someone that understand the impact on taxpayers. They have that on the board. No minority should get their way because they yell the most either and there is a minority of folks that are vengeful when it comes to that airport. I think the debt was paid with a heavy price, it is up to no one to decide when karma has been satisfied. Just be sure your not the one now running

I know what they did, it's business plain and simple. Business is what gets us all paid. Someone somewhere makes the hard decisions or nobody would be getting paid. It had to be done. It may not have been exactly what anyone wanted, but we can revisit it in 5 years.
