Your experience (and observations) are similar to most people's that visit the border or inside Mexico itself (border areas, not just tourist areas). It reminds me of the humbling experience I had when I visited there ten years ago. Thank you for the reminder. I've known of people going there and wanting to come home and sell their "important possessions" because it made them feel so disgusted with themselves and materialism, instead of goal-setting and real priorities like education and helping others.
