  1. The other person used the word "normal" in reference to slinging baby animals.
  2. I haven't seen anyone describing the behavior in the video as normal: Regarding the video, Tysons statement said: Weve seen the video and we are appalled by the apparent mistreatment of the animals. We do not condone for any reason this kind of mistreatment of animals shown in the video. .... The National Pork Producers Council agreed that the video shows practices that are abhorrent to U.S. pork producers… http://www.porknetwork.com/pork-news/latest/HSUS-releases-video-shot-at-Wyoming-Premium-Farms-150661215.html
  3. I searched and didn't see anything. That's why I asked for links.
  4. It would be helpful if you posted references with links to the cases you say took place that involved fraud and the Humane Society of the United States (the group that made the video). I'd like to know how many cases there are and the judgments against them.
  5. The story about the Atlanta Humane Society was posted on p.com/. Was there one about the Humane Society of the United States?
  6. You're comparing animals to auto manufacturing? If the abuse is false why has Tyson stopped buying from them? WHEATLAND, Wyo. - Tyson Foods says it's suspending purchases from a pig farm in Wyoming after undercover video taken by the Humane Society of the United States showed animal abuse at the operation. The video, taken at Wyoming Premium Farms in Wheatland in April, shows employees abusing piglets and sows. Tyson Foods initially said it had no connection to the farm, but then acknowledged it bought some sows from there ... http://www.9news.com/news/article/267347/1
  7. Different agencies are investigating. I posted some of the history of the company so you could see that the company has the finances to sustain major losses---which was one reason you gave for not believing the abuse was real.
  8. Here is some history. The company has survived past losses including when "employee error resulted in the drowning of 2,000 piglets," and a case where they were fined 30 million yen. 05-09-12 *RMFU News* Rocky Mountain Farmers Union Applauds Investigation of Wyoming Premium Farms Posted by Brian Allmer on May 9, 2012 Kent Peppler RMFU President In a statement today, RMFU President Kent Peppler, a fourth-generation farmer in Mead, Colorado, commended Wyoming authorities for acting swiftly to investigate claims of animal abuse at a factory farm north of Wheatland, Wyoming ...
  9. I don't see anyone being so foolish as to do what you said.
  10. This suggests something different: ... an expert panel has called the treatment "unacceptable and indefensible." ,,, said Croney. "If what is captured in this video is an accurate portrayal of what's going on at this farm, there are so many different people complicit in abusive handling that it strongly suggests there is a culture in this particular facility of absolute indifference to the animals." http://www.examiner.com/article/expert-panel-calls-wyoming-pig-farm-behavior-unacceptable-and-indefensible
  11. Abuse happens---unfortunately. Cases of child abuse go unreported so I don't understand why some members don't recognize that cases of animal abuse can go unreported.
  12. What are your thoughts on humane treatment for farm animals?
  13. Inspiring: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX9FSZJu448
  14. I've got some things ready including several jars of peanut butter. I plan on buying some bags of dried lentils and maybe some other things today.
  15. They were acting on an anonymous tip: Wheatland pig farm accused of animal cruelty By Becky Orr borr@wyomingnews.com CHEYENNE -- A national animal rights group says workers at a Wheatland pig farm abuse animals there. The Humane Society of the United States released a video Tuesday that shows what the society claims happened earlier this year at Wyoming Premium Farms, LLC. Wheatland is about 65 miles north of Cheyenne. The group said the undercover video was filmed in April. Acting on an anonymous tip, a Humane Society employee got a job at the pig-breeding faci
  16. Here's a link to the Senior Center in Dallas. The description says it is for anyone 55 or older: http://www.paulding.gov/index.aspx?NID=203
  17. Some sources say she has a disorder and doesn't see herself as she really looks.
  18. I was curious so I checked. Robert A. Hall wrote it: http://tartanmarine.blogspot.com/2009/02/robert.html Some versions have been emailed with the author listed as Bill Cosby. But according to his blog he is not the author. This is what snopes.com says about it: http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/imtired.asp
  19. I'm praying for them. Please post an update when you know more.
  20. I got this in an email: While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs. One day I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, 'The tooth fairy will never believe this!'
  21. Thanks. I will keep that in mind. Do use coconut oil? I know there has been a lot written about the health benefits of different coconut products. I wonder if coconut flour would work as a thickener?
