  1. Much sarcasm there . I am a Libertarian to the core. I wouldnt trust the government with my dirty bath water and I certainly dont trust them with my health, my money or my family.
  2. Monsanto is the bio-engineering company that controls almost ALL of the food you are buying, eating and feeding your family. Our government is in contract with them and they are a seed and farming monopoly. This company intimidates and imprisons farmers who already live beneath the poverty level for things like saving spilled seed and using it next season. This keeps farmers scared for their and their families lives. So, they are forced to meet the immoral demands of Monsanto, keeping them poor, impoverished and dependent on the government. See how it works? The government chokes individuali

  6. "you have the hand writin' of a serial killah'."-Clarie to Weezer(Steel Magnolias)...I would know your typing anywhere , Kel and I love it!
  7. If you say anything negative about police on Pcom you are surely a horrible person so I'll just say, I agree with you. And, police should not be(or feel they are) above the same laws we have to abide by.
  8. Is this morning kicking your hinney somewhat, too ? I'm about to start my typical Monday at work. 13 hours. I'll be literally running all day...there's no chair and desk here . Eatin' my Wheaties and puttin' on my running shoes...and a big cup of caffeine.
  9. The only reason that organic and locally grown food costs more is that the government subsidizes the food grown by corporations that have government contracts. Because so many farmers live beneath the poverty level, they are forced to sign VERY restrictive government contracts and grow exclusively for corporations who are in in bed with them. These corporations are ONLY about bigger and faster crops and animals. They force farmers to follow their growing/farming guidelines, they change farming codes every year that the farmer has to personally fund to keep the contract and they do very unhealth
  10. I would hug Pubby too, Postman! Wait..I HAVE hugged the Pubster . You and me are two of the "most picked at" Pcommers, hands down.
  11. This is true, Postman..nobody can deny that. But, our gov makes "the system" so complicated with so many middle-men, so much red tape and the biggest problem in our food/farming industry currently is that elected officials have VERY lucrative financial ties with certain food/processing and growing corporations and are in bed with them. They have these companies inspected less now than they did in 1970! And, when one of them does have an ecoli outbreak or something like it, our gov rarely actually ever inspects them! It's a huge coverup and so wrong. The truth is hidden to the consumer. If you
  12. Great perspective, ML! Thnx for that. I, too, love Ted's, although that is my ex husband's name so I do have a nervous twitch the whole time I'm eating there but it is so yummy, none the less.
  13. ::standing ovation from Gipper::: You are spot on, Postman! We have got to open our eyes and our minds on what the government is forcing down our throats! It's beyond immoral.
  14. Postman, you rock! I am 100% organic. There are toxins and hormones in the food we are shoveling down our throats that are too disgusting to even think about. If I get started on this topic, I may be up til 6 am ! Educate yourself! Support your LOCAL farmer! BUY ORGANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Well, thank you then, MOS2010! We should go get a nice(RARE)steak together one of these days!
  16. Sick, for sure. I don't understand depravity like this, either, Ignorme. It is very upsetting and unsettling, for sure.I know that when I read about Dahmer's childhood, he admitted to harming animals first, then he moved on to human beings. He said that if only a parent or some adult had noticed his anger and cared enough to do something, he may have been able to avoid the disgusting and so sad reality he inflicted on so many people and their families. I always remember one of the men that he murdered's sister in the courtroom. She was so bereft. It was hard to even watch. She, in tears and un
  17. TRUE! Cows were NEVER bred to eat corn which is what every steak you buy in any grocery is given now...unless you buy organic. TOTALLY worth a few extra cents!!! No hormones, GRASS fed cows, the way God intended! Cows have Ecoli when they eat corn. Feed one grass for only 7 days and VIOLA! NO MORE ECOLI! What does that really say about how we treat our food???? AH! Great idea! Thnx .
  18. Yes. I can tell you first hand that any steak ordered cooked past MEDIUM, is partially cooked at the beginning of the dinner shift, put on a tray on a rack and then simply thrown back on the grill when actually ordered. It takes way too long to cook and would get the kitchen so far behind on cook times. Any good chef curses when a steak is ordered more than medium.
  19. I can deal with that...that's okay in my book! a good steak not gone to waste! Me toooooooo,PW! The longer you cook it, the more flavor you miss.
  20. I get so much grief every time I order a steak . I love them rare...knock the horns off. I had one last night at our New Years get-together and the others at the table actually acted horrified ! My SO is used to it by now(he does say he thinks I may be a vampire and it makes him nervous ... ). They asked for a menu and stood it up in front of my plate so they didn't have to look at my steak ...this is NOT the first time. When I'm serving(on my part time fun job), I cringe when anyone orders a beautiful filet mignon, a NY strip, a flank or a ribeye any more than medium. Cooked any longe
  21. 'tis why I love you, Subby ! And, yeah...my 2010, by in large, was about a good as rolling in alcohol after a thousands paper cuts .I am believing 2011 will be a great year full of answered prayer and wonderful surprises . Stay in it, my friend . You are one resilient dude . "When you're going thru Hell....KEEP GOING" - Winston Churchill
  22. Terrific post, Postman! and so true. I've never been into material things all that much. I like the next person like nice things and theres nothing wrong with having them. But, when you look to them for your happiness, that's a problem. However, I learned something about myself over the last 3-4 yrs that shocked me when I actually realized it. I looked to a person for my happiness, contentment, peace...everything. I would go OVERBOARD to win their approval, to the point of isolating myself from family, friends, things I enjoyed doing, etc in hopes that ONE day I would do the MAGICAL act(what
  23. yep...we sing it every year..."Should Old Acquaintance be forgot, and never thought upon; The flames of Love extinguished, and fully past and gone: Is thy sweet Heart now grown so cold, that loving Breast of thine; That thou canst never once reflect on Old long syne" It's the original version.
