I've been an massage therapist and hairstylist for 18 yrs now...the baking soda and brown sugar recipes are great. You dont wanna use anything more abrasive than those...it will literally tear your skin over time and age you. Here's a great one... mix dry powdered milk with equal parts oatmeal...add a tablespoon of dry mustard(this pulls out the impurities from your skin and body)...then add a tablespoon olive oil and a few drops of peppermint or patchouli oil. Soak in a bath of this mixture and tell me if you dont feel softer, better and younger after! YOU WILL! MIRACLE BATH.

Never been a fan of being all couped up or snow itself. But, I have really enjoyed this one. The company has been great, I am my own boss(finally)so I didnt feel pressured by my boss(I have a part time but only on saturday nights and Mondays so no worries there...they are still closed). I had plenty food, movies and booze. Only negative was that my teen son has been frozen in with his Dad(in Dallas). But, he got a new 4 wheeler this summer and has had a ball going to friends houses on it(he's 17). So, all that said, it has been lots of fun and has FORCED me to relax, stay in my jammies all da

Dayzee...I love your WH pic! I live in Kennesaw. We have been hunkered down here for 3 days too and FINALLY made it out to Publix today . Needed to stock up on the staples again, ya know...eggs, bread, milk, tea, chocolate and plenty of beer ... Here are a few pics... Me and my blind Doxie, Bridget... loved the first night of the snow when it was still fresh and powdery...it's AMAZING how she can run, jump and play and can't see a thing...she's a sweetheart for sure . This time last year she was "living" outside IN weather like this ...thank goodness she was rescued. y

DeeWee, don't go if you're uncomfortable. It's not even worth the insurance deductible, much less your safety. Any employer who pressures me to risk life and limb for a days work(even a few days work), is not the sort of person I want to work for anyway. I know your situation is different than retail, etc but in my opinion, if they need care that badly under these circumstances, they should call an ambulance. I don't know the ins and outs of it but bottom line is if you feel uneasy and feel you are taking a risk, it's not worth it.

You should have a fireplace cleaned every year. If it hasnt been used in years, I would hesitate to use it until you have a chimneysweep clean and inspect it. ESPECIALLY, if road conditions are treacherous. If you did need help, it could potentially be a bad situation.A chimney has various issues and can be very very dangerous. I would have it cleaned asap(its not expensive)and burn a fire or two each year to keep it in good working order.

My opinion is that if they were truly legit, they wouldnt have to advertise that way. I live with chronic pain and have a REAL pain management doc. He doesnt advertise. He does write scripts for the hard stuff although I choose to do epidurals(he does them for me) and acupuncture. I also medicate myself the "natural" way but let's not open that can of green stuff in this thread. I think those places are scammers looking for a bait and switch.

Just thinking about my precious Mama and my childhood in good old historic May'Retta. I loved every second of it and every time I pass through my old 'hood, I am reminded of how blessed I am to have had such a great time then. I think I miss summer nights with homemade ice cream and the neighbors all congregating the most. So many great things.... What do YOU miss most?

Huge compliment! But, the Postman has always kept me on my toes!

Im right there with ya!Global warming is a topic for a different day but the FDA???? What they "approve", I run from . They are the devil incarnate as far as I am concerned.

Great topic! I immunized my now 17 yr old son as an infant. But, then I began to read and research the effects, huge risks and dangers of it. I am now an huge advocate against immunization and believe in my mission wholeheartedly. I will not, however, expound on it in detail here, as I cannot do the topic justice in type but in person, only. My son attends SPHS and I have signed a form for 10 yrs now releasing myself and him from immunization. The form that the State requires as far as immunization carries a few exceptions...one is for religious beliefs against immunizing. I have not o

I should have expressed that in my post above. I have a very, very deep respect for the ones who are truly called by God and represent Him well. A lot of them live not knowing where the next meal is coming from or if the electricity will be shut off or not. I dont think they HAVE to live in poverty to be a minister of the Gospel. But, the extravagance and power is so completely opposite of what Jesus stood for, spoke about and condemned. And, when He would get really fired up and zealous, it wasnt at the prostitute or the thief or the adulterer...not even at the disciples who betrayed Him...it

Trespass Is Not Just Being On Private Property
GipperGirl replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Postman, we could definitely take action based on this from a few posters who "vent private malice" repeatedly about both of us. -
I have been an evangelical my entire life. There are things I love and things I hate about it. This is one of the ones I hate. When these "ministers" are fleecing their followers, it is embarrassing and infuriating to the rest of us. But, do not doubt for a second, they will be judged for it and may God have mercy on their souls. Because, scripture says that if anyone causes another to stumble or to fall away from the faith, they would be better off to have a millstone tied around their neck and thrown into the sea, than to suffer the judgment. Don't forget Creflo and Paula "nevermetplastic

I am not a germophobe at all but I throw it out. For me, it's not germs that gross me out, it's hair, dog hair, fuzzies and any "hair-like" ANYTHING on my food. Just the chance that it could possibly have something on it freaks me out .

Susan G. Komen for the Cure has a lesser-known mission
GipperGirl replied to anthonyr's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No. They are not looking for a cure. They are raising awareness. They are not the same thing. The medical field has made very VERY few advances in the last few decades, especially when it comes to finding cures. Think about this....before 1970 they discovered penicillin, many cures for things such as polio and whooping cough and the list goes on. So what's the big holdup now? Ah! MONEY. It's all about money. When I see all the pink packaging(which now has gotten to a cultish, "Oprah-like" level), I just see $$$$$. Yes, to raise awareness is great. But, to market their "charity" as a race -
You are so right! She is great. They'd just have to keep her a little tipsy the whole time .
