  1. The 4GB one should be fine for a while... You won't be able to download a lot of high end games from Xboxlive or store games on it, but for normal game play (that runs off DVD) and profile storage, it will be plenty. If later on down the road, it starts getting full, you can simply buy a memory card to pop in and upgrade it or you have the option to get a hard drive for it, if you want a LOT more space.
  2. For starters, your link doesn't work. But if you want proof, look up the Georgia code. It clearly states in plain english, in *SOME* traffic laws, law enforcement officers are exempt. I don't say it, the Georgia code says it. I didn't say that they are exempt from ALL traffic laws and I didn't say there were exempt from them period, you just choose to pull what I said out of context. Once again, what I said, each and every time, is that law enforcement are exempt from SOME traffic laws while in the line of duty, even without being on an "emergency" call. As long as it is in the line of
  3. Sorry buddy, but in some circumstances, yes they are. You don't know what you're talking about. A police officer does NOT have to be on an emergency call to break some traffic laws. There are SEVERAL times a law enforcement officer is allowed to not follow standard traffic laws when not on an emergency call. It must be in the line of duty, but it does NOT have to be an emergency call that requires running lights and siren. If you have to ask... You obviously know nothing about visual perception. Ever see a HUGE airplane flying that looks like it's going super slow but
  4. Funny, I pass people all the time like they are standing still. Why? Because when a road has a 55mph speed limit and there are people puttering around at 40mph (yes, a whole line of them) it makes someone running 55 look like they are flying. 61S is that way EVERY day. And you know this how? You have no clue as to what he was doing. You are making an assumption. Sorry, but you are wrong. They do not have to be on an emergency run to be exempt from certain traffic laws. Yes, actually it is... You see, different cars appear to move different speeds. A larger
  5. #1. How do you know how fast the car was going? Do you have radar or laser in your car that is calibrated? #2. How do you know the officer wasn't involved in something else? How do you know he wasn't on a call and was told not to move from his location? How do you know he didn't see the other car and call dispatch and report it so another deputy to investigate? #3. The majority of the patrol cars do not have radar or laser. Without that aide, the deputy could really do nothing. Even if he gave chase and pulled the car over, it's highly likely that the car would have been slowed
  6. I didn't say that YOU were crying, did I? You may have thought I implied it, right? Well, don't you think by saying (paraphrasing), "hubby got a ticket... REALLY... he wasn't speeding..." The "REALLY" in the context you used it sure makes it sound like you were crying... You can't believe he got a ticket for it... he wasn't speeding or anything... Who said he purposely broke the law? Since when does intent matter (with the exception of murder)? If you break the law, you pay the consequence, regardless of your intent. Most people don't intend to break the law. They get lazy an
  7. I agree... Glad to see them enforcing it also! It amazes me how much people grip about getting a ticket when THEY are the one who can prevent it. Like you said, it's real simple, don't drive through the gore and you won't get ticketed for it. I have seen plenty of accidents caused by this very thing in the exact locations you and Mikey described. I'm not a perfect driver by any means, but I don't do things that purposely break the law. People who do, get what the penalty is... even though they will cry about it rather than take responsibility for their actions and just own
  8. Whoever told you that it doesn't matter how far away from the road you are doesn't know what they are talking about. It's state law, it's illegal to discharge a firearm within 50 yards of ANY roadway, unless you are defending your life or property. Shooting a coyote just because it's in your backyard does not constitute life threatening or property threatening. O.C.G.A. § 16-11-103 Discharge of gun or pistol near public highway or street A person is guilty of a misdemeanor when, without legal justification, he discharges a gun or pistol on or within 50 yards of a public highwa
  9. Well, first off... we don't register guns. So, no, there is nothing about that you have to worry about. Gun ownership is not registered. Second, is it legal? Be very careful. While there is no season on Coyotes and it is perfectly legal to shoot one all year around, you must be careful about WHERE you shoot it. If you are in the city limits... Illegal period. It's illegal to discharge a firearm inside the city limits. If you are not inside the city limits, you must be 100ft or greater from the roadway. There cannot be a road within 100ft of you, in all directions, or it i
  10. It would be illegal to sell it for use on public roads. AV fuel still have lead in it. With that said, *IF* the lead is the key ingredient in your product that increases the octane, then your concern is going to be with your catalytic converter. Lead will ruin a catalytic converter very quick. Unlikely, that one bottle is going to cause your converter to fail instantly, but if it's aged, the addition could put it over that fine line of the breaking point. If it's not near it's failing point, it will lessen it's life a tad... Again, one bottle, probably won't be noticeable. H
  11. Not all 706 is local. Some areas of 706 is long distance. Commerce, GA is a 706 area code and it's long distance. Some areas in 706 are long distance to other areas in 706.
  12. Call the local United States Marines recruiting office. They are one of the biggest players and supporters of Toys for Tots.
  13. #1. Airlines don't receive federal money. They are private organizations just like McDonald's and any other corporation. #2. Airlines don't "make their seat". The airplane manufacturer (McDonald-Douglas, Boing, Airbus, etc) makes the airplane and stocks the seats. Seats are a standardized width for the industry. Coach seats have a given size and business/first class has a given size seat. The airline is in business to make money. The more weight they carry, the more fuel they burn. It's not only a matter of passenger comfort, it's of matter of profit. It cost more to tra
  14. They don't actually check with the officers. The officers are subpenaed. When the officer writes a ticket, dispatch gives them a case number and a pre-set court date. They already know when they write the ticket, what that court date will be. If you ask to have it changed, it will be noted when they receive their subpena. On the other note he posted... finding out what day the officer is off... it doesn't matter. If it's their off day and court is schedule for that day, the will still come in for the court because they get paid over-time for it. It's actually pretty rare tha
  15. I normally don't buy in to the "As seen on TV" garbage that is sold... BUT, I have to say, I bought one of these things a while back and it's GREAT! It's really nothing special. It's a micro fiber cleaning cloth on a plastic wand. However, it's the wand that makes the whole package worth-while. It allows you to get at that awkward angle to follow the windshield all the way to the dashboard without contorting yourself in to all kinds of crazy positions. Yes, it works good with plain old tap water. But, it works even better with a very light mist of window cleaner. It tak
  16. Absolutely nothing wrong with a wireless system, *if* you do it correctly. If you want an expensive DVR system, you can go that route. I have Cisco wireless N cameras all over my property. I run a free software called Mobiscope. My video writes to a 2TB NAS that holds about 2 weeks worth of videos. The only drawback to Mobiscope is that it runs on a computer, it isn't stand alone. It only allows up to four IP or web cams. For more than four, you will have to install it on a second computer... ever computer gives you four more connections. It has access via a website and
  17. They are a real school, but they are not accredited by the same accreditation system that mainstream universities and other colleges use... There are several accrediting agencies that the mainstream colleges and universities use, but they all pretty much use the same specifications and most all honor each others credits. Devry, like many of the other "TV" schools are accredited by "The Higher Learning Commission" and their credits are rarely recognized by the mainstream college systems. So, if you went and got a BS at Devry, your credit's wouldn't carry over and allow you to to
  18. I have no problem with the testing, but as you said, more of it is about taxes. I am not a tree hugging type by any means, but I do know how much emissions vehicles have put out and what they put out now and hopefully manufacturers will continue to reduce the hazardous emissions in the future. It does affect air quality that we breathe. My personal opinion is this... Make me get a test done every year to get my tag. No problem. Make me pay a reasonable fee for the test. Ok, again no problem. 10 minutes work... how about $6 or so? If I pass, I get my tag and go on until next yea
  19. You may have seen cars that are excempt from taking the test. You may have seen a crooked testing station that didn't actually test the car that was polluting. But you damn sure didn't see a car passed legally that was tested properly and in accordance with the policies and laws for the Clean Air Act. Yeah, you're right... the fee's paid are tax and are a little higher than need be. However, the fee didn't used to be high and it still worked. If you think it doesn't actually work, you're wrong.
  20. Oops! Yep, that is correct. Apparently my fingers didn't type what I was thinking. It's 30 days on the re-check... and I was going to say that you can get a waiver after max repairs for within that year.
  21. Yeah, because we all love seeing smog over the city skyline, can't stand seeing blue skies, and I absolutely am disgusted that I have to breath cleaner air.
  22. Once you fail a test, you get one free re-check within a year. If it fails again, you have to pay the fee again. That's not a emissions place, that's state law.
  23. I would have to say we are both correct then... because of: "Generally, you may drive in Georgia for up to one year on a valid foreign or International license." Meaning, if you are here on a work visa, you are still a non-resident and if you are here longer than a year, your foreign license is invalid here. BTW, our licenses are not necessarily honored out of our country either. Mine was not honored in Japan... I had to take a course and a test to get a temp license to drive.
  24. I posted exactly what is on the DDS website. It says nothing about only those who become residents. It says "ALL" drivers from other nations... It also says that your native license will be returned after submitting it for the Georgia license. If the DDS website is not correct, they need to be notified.
  25. Find out what the vehicle failed on... NOx, CO(Carbon Monoxide), Co2 dilution, Hydrocarbons, etc.. It will show on the report what the allowable limit is and what the actual reading was... As above stated, '96 and later will have an emission flag set. This does not necessarily mean the check engine light will be on, but in most cases it will be. If it is, there will a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) stored in the memory which can be read to give a better understanding of where the problem is... $2000 for emissions repair... you need to get a second opinion. In general, the
